A. F.Great company. If you are a Yacht Broker and unaware of the Yacht market I'd be highly surprised. Excellent platform to list your boats on and gain that extra exposure needed to get the sale.
W. R.I saw that TheYachtMarket popped up in the top few entries of every internet browser when I searched for yachts or boats for sale, or a specific make and model of vessel. Initially I thought the site was restricted to brokers' adverts. When I realised that wasn't the case, I advertised and sold my vessel within 6 months. You have to do the legwork before starting to advertise - valet the boat inside and out (paint and varnish if necessary) to display it its very best. Take lots of well lit photos (bright LED photo lights/stands are surprisingly cheap on eBay) of a tidied up and camera ready boat. When you can't make her any smarter, generate your advert. When potential buyers get in contact, conduct viewings, show them around, pointing out all the key features, and then, leave them to have a good look without you present, and hope they're discussing how much to offer. If your'e prepared to put some effort in up front, you have access to all the buyers out there, and you can save a huge brokers' fee. I saved 5% = £2000.
P. R.I listed my boat on this site. Got some good enquiries after a couple of months and sold the boat in the third month. Only wished I could add a virtual tour – otherwise would have rated 5 stars. But boat sold quickly so didn’t matter.
M. S.I advertised my Najad 380 yacht, lying in Denmark, on The Yacht Market and on Scanboat (and briefly on a Dutch website that attracted no interest). I found that The Yacht Market produced about twice as many serious enquiries as Scanboat and from a much wider range of countries. It took 18 months to sell this quality yacht and it was bought by an Italian who will move it to the Med next season. At the time of the sale, other keen enquirers were from Portugal, Poland, Germany, Denmark and the UK.
