This is a superb store run but a lovely woman, who is very chatty and charming. That aside, if you want high quality homeward, kitchen utensils, bags and the like, this is the place to go. Really good selection of all, loved it!

Quite an expensive, but lovely shop. Everything handmade and charming. I would probably buy all the items or at least half of it, if it wouldn’t be so expensive. If you’re nearby and don’t know what to do with money, go and see! Beautiful cups and lovely smelling candles. I liked the take away cups too (see photo). All is suitable for a dishwasher!

Ordered some lovely pieces online and the service and delivery was exceptional. One of my items was unavailable and had to be ordered from the supplier. The store kept me updated with the status of my order which was brilliant. Loved the handwritten notes placed with the delivery, it’s a nice personal touch. Life Story is a carefully curated shop by a lovely local woman who jut really knows how to pick out nice things. This gem definitely has it all. Mostly from Nordic designers but many from Edinburgh as well. From the coolest books, to some real good quality home ware, from things you never thought you will need, until you see them here. At least this is how I feel when i visit this true gem of a shop at by the way, one of the nicest parts of Edinburgh's New Town. Don't miss out and say hi, it's worth it!

Lifestory is a beautiful shop, filled with so many lovely things. It has become my go to place whenever I am looking for gifts for friends, family, and myself! I've also been really impressed with their customer service. They went above and beyond to ensure my grandmother's 90th birthday present arrived on time, during lockdown, beautifully and carefully wrapped (it was a fragile plate). 5 starts all round!

The perfect design-led gift shop just a skip from the city centre at the bottom of Broughton Street. Homeware, stationery, jewellery and wellness/beauty items - wonderful! Truly beautiful high quality products at affordable prices. Carefully considered displays, and all perfectly curated - it's a must visit for the design conscious! I promise you you won't leave empty handed. As is often the way with Edinburgh, there are steep steps up to the door, but the sales assistant was straight out to help me with my buggy, and couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier! You can also sit in for a cuppy and soak up the ambiance. Just brilliant. Go - you won't be disappointed. 👍

Arty, casual shop. It's the perfect gift shop for everything for everyone it doesn't matter the age or the taste. From jewellery, to plants and pots. The scandi touch is present in the whole shop. You even can ask for a coffee while shopping or just dear and relax. Definitely a place to pop in Edinburgh New Town.

If I could do minimalist and keep my house tidy.. this shop is what I'd want my living room to look like.. airy, lofty, filled with funky prints, quirky coffee table books and gorgeous ceramic bowls, plates and mugs.. Prices are actually quite reasonable for the 'designer' aspect of things. Good place to look for gifts for those who have everything they need..

A shop that I have trouble entering and leaving empty handed. A fabulous shop that offers the best in cool, contemporary interiors and fashion. A fresh boutique for the city. Even comes with a tiny dog called Bertie! Amazing.

Every now and then, I come across a shop that literally has me jumping for joy that it opened up in Edinburgh... Life Story is one of those. It's gorgeous, so much so that it feels like you've stepped into a boutique in Tokyo rather than Broughton Street. It’s full of curated pieces, such as neon pink edged blankets, leather bags to lust after and too-nice-to-write-in notebooks, as well as owner Fee's own designs. (Be sure to look out for their tiny Daschund puppy too, possibly the cutest thing ever.)

A beautifully styled boutique specialising in homewares, clothing and giftware. The design is beautiful and minimal and mixes Scandic brands such as Bloomingville with independent brands to create a stylish, sleek aesthetic with items at various price points. Favourites include neon-dipped wooden bowls, beeswax candles, washi tape and screen-printed tights.
