I was looking for a new amp to compliment my KEF LS50 speakers. I had a pleasure to speak with Tomasz, who's knowledge about system matching was just so impressive and complete! Tomasz was able to organise the demo listening for me, he's very competent and he straight away recommended the best sounding amplifiers for my music system. I was also able to bring my own speakers and records for the demo! Thank you so much! Great customer service as usual!

Richer Sounds have a reputation for tailored customer service and it's well earned. I have an amateur understanding of audio compared to video, but the staff at the store were more than accommodating to this and not only explained our requirements but also the justification at different price points. We dealt with Tomasz who helped us choose a new sound system. He didn't overhelm us with information but he didn't miss anything out when we happened to have questions. Very professional and didn't rush us at all compared to some other outlets. Make sure you have a booking as they are currently not accepting walk-ins. You'd also do well to explain your requirements over the phone so they can take note of this ahead of time. Would highly recommend if you're looking at any audio/video purchase. Service is second to none.

the service from Richer Sounds was fantastic. I would like to mention Fraser who went above and beyond and kept me updated through the process. My purchase was some Chord Epic cable and was always a bit sceptical about how much difference cable can make. It's made a big difference to my system and allows me to get the most from the A3050 Yamaha amp and Monitor Audio silver 6 speakers. (Rear - monitor audio silver FX Sub - Monitor Audio RSW 12. Atmos upward firing KEF) rears and Atmos use Chord Sarcen. The cable was made up in the chord factory, and the finish is excellent. Richer sounds gave me a good deal on the cable and helped out with some temp cable due to factory delays over Xmas. Thanks to the team once again

Called up as we'd been struggling to set up our record player and speakers (bought elsewhere). Tomas was very helpful - he took the model of our record player and speakers and explained that as our speakers had no amplification, we'd have to either buy an amplifier or get active speakers. He explained the difference between a pre-amp and an amplifier and recommended some speakers that would work for us. Great service :)

I originally found Richer Sounds through Amazon as I was looking for an amp to power two 100 watt vintage speakers my Dad bought in the 1970s. I spoke to a knowledgeable friend about the Amazon speakers and he suggested that I go into the Richer Sounds shop to get some advice. I've bought a lot from here over the years and only ever had one problem with a soundbar a few months after I bought it. I took the faulty bar in and they replaced it right away with no fuss. Excellent deals, great selection, the best staff around. I bought my first set of speakers here in 1995. It was my first experience of the Richer Sounds customer service; expert knowledge, impartial advice, helpful and dedicated to getting you exactly what you need. The staff are always on hand but never pester you while you look around or try to up-sell, get you to buy stuff you don't need or talk nonsense. The warranty policy they offer is a good deal and take it for significant purchases. They have a great selection of home cinema equipment and televisions. They price match when it is an issue most cases they have a better cheaper option than anybody else including online. For value, quality, service and after sales Richer Sounds is the best option. If more businesses were like Richer Sounds I'd spend more money.

I cannot recommend this shop highly enough if you are looking for quality equipment with the help of knowledgeable staff. They have a great demonstration room that is set out like an average living-room so you can compare different equipment and be sure you are getting what you want and need. The service I received from Tomasz was exemplary and he made sure that I left the shop with the knowledge I needed to set up my Hi Fi (how to wire up the speakers etc). Recent purchase of TV and Surround Amp, On opening TV it looked like screen was scratched, Steven got a replacement sent out and it arrived a couple of day's later , opened this and again screen had scratches on it, Spoke with Garry and he sent out another via Taxi following day. This one arrived and again scratches on screen. Fraser called back and spoke to me and advised that there could be protective film on screen, after checking TV we did find this although it's not very obvious very thin, very transparent and well applied from factory. The staff are mostly quite knowledgeable and you can make decisions on what to buy with confidence that you've got your hands on the kit that is exactly right for you. Now a days when you go in you can still normally get a good deal on cables and wires when buying speakers etc. Maybe not quite as good as it was when Mr Richer himself was in charge of the company but still pretty good. All the products have independent reviews associated with them and if you like something you can reserve it with your name and pick it up later. Four stars but ten to fifteen years ago this would have been six out of five.

I can count the number of times on one hand I have written a review and it is usually to share how rubbish a product or service is, credit where it is due for the Edinburgh Richer Sounds store. I am always absolutely blown away by the service I receive at this shop, they really do put other big name electrical retailers to shame with the sheer quality of staff and service. I visited earlier today to purchase a new pair of speakers and Andy the salesman's enthusiasm can only be described as infectious, he shares my love of gritty electronic music and was able to recommend suitable speakers. Having brought them home and given them a good test drive, his advice is absolutely spot on. A few weeks earlier, I had to return an AV receiver which did not work as I had hoped. I was ready to have to argue my case or pay something towards returning the item but Gary the manager just listened to my rant and then calmly told me he would be happy to swap it for me. I shall be back and urger you to visit if you are considering some new toys.

I’ve been a customer of Richer Sounds for decades – this time it was a Pioneer XDP100R Hi-Def music player (highly recommended) that had developed a fault in the SD car reader. Hauke and Garry did most of the legwork in RS, sending it for repair and getting it back to me in less than 2 weeks. As I was bereft without my little Pioneer buddy, I was grateful for the speed of service. I have always been impressed by RS' staff's knowledge, as i get irritated when someone talks apparently knowledgeable nonsense to me! Denon AVR-X2300W Great value piece of kit I bought this to replace a 8year old Pioneer av amp that cost 2x price of the denon to work with 5 input sources and my 5.1 speaker set up. Main draw for me was the consolidation of video and sound through hdmi whereas pioneer only did the sound .When I arrived I spoke to the James and Tomasz who brought me up to date with the technology available. He then suggested the Denon amp. I am so glad I followed his advice as I'm totally impressed with the audio quality, ease of use and level of connectivity this amp has. So far I have nothing but praise for this purchase and am grateful for the expert service provided by Richer Sounds. Set up was a breeze and performance is excellent.Highly recommended

I have used Richer Sounds a couple of times to put together a good Marantz system. I recently purchased a Cambridge Audio DAC but could not get it working so I dropped into the shop on Wednesday and asked Scott for advice. I asked him if the company does call outs to people's homes and he very generously told me he could come out to my flat that night at 6.30pm after closing. He also phoned before coming to see if I had all the cables needed. Due to a setup error on my part he discovered the speaker cables were in the wrong ports. Scott took apart the whole system and put it together again - all components, DAC, Sonos bridge and turntable are now working seamlessly. I asked him to invoice me after but to my surprise he kindly declined and said it was a goodwill gesture. I'm very impressed with the service and personal touch. It is rare to get this kind of service these days. Thanks so much Scott! I will definitely be a returning customer.

I never write reviews on sites but could not let the outstanding service I received from Garry go unnoticed. I popped into Richer Sounds on Chambers Street last week to look for some advice about a TV for my elderly parents. I had no intention of buying a TV at that point and told Garry this, I expected him to brush me off but he spent over an hour with me going over many different types of TV's including the difference between LCD & Plasma. Despite the shop being busy at no point did I feel rushed or pressured. I was so impressed with Garry's expertise I decided to purchase a TV for my parents that day and also purchase a small TV for my son's new bedroom at his halls of residence. He even helped me out to my car with both tv's and managed to negotiate my small boot space. I will now be recommending Richer Sounds to all my family & friends. Recently bought a LED TV here from Andy, but there was a bit of confusion with the philips TV that I brought home as i wanted to wall mount it, and though the picture was brilliant there was no sound at all. I brought the tv back only to find out that the speakers were in the tv stand. I had never even opened the packaging for the tv stand as I immediately hung the TV on the wall and never thought that the speakers would be there. When i spoke to Andy about this he quickly exchanged the TV for me. Its a shame about this as the Philips TV picture was perfect. But I am delighted now with my Panasonic. I bought a TV soundbox from John Lewis ( Orbit ) which was not at all satisfactory so returned it and phoned Richer Sounds to ask about the Panasonic soundbox. John said in his opinion it wasn't the best around so I arranged to visit the shop. John answered all my questions, demonstrated the Cambridge Audio TV2 box and let me play with it for as long as I wanted.
