I'm partially sighted, and daren't try to fix anything electric myself. I went to shop after shop asking for somebody to take a look at a lamp for me, and was constantly sent away because nobody repairs things any more, despite me saying that I was sure it wasn't anything serious, I just wanted somebody to tell me what, if anything, needed replacing. The lamp was a gift, and I hate throwing stuff away when it could be fixed. Lovely lady in this shop was very understanding and helpful, she had a look, and it turned out the fuse had just gone and needed to be replaced. I know fuses don't cost much, but she wouldn't even take any money off me for her time. Absolutely made my day. Can't recommend them highly enough.

The place to go for your vacuum cleaner spare bags (all brands), light bulbs energy saving and old fashion ones, hardware tools, etc. Vacuum Exchange is a Leith Walk institution, they also survived the Leith trams fiasco. Long life to that shop... will go there really soon to get my Morphy Richards spare parts too...

I needed a replacement head for the vacuum and they sorted it in seconds. Nice, simple and easy. Only downside is they don’t take cards, so make sure to grab cash first.
