Fantastic service. Fantastic prices. The real deal. Pitlochry is packed with tourist trap shops carrying the same knock-off merch, but Macnaughtons is not only a proper and quality clothing store, but carries UK made 100% wool products at prices that still compete with the wool/acrylic blends carried by lesser stores. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and the entire environment manages to make touring fun, while still taking clothing seriously.

I've needed a custom Johnstone kilt (and all the trimmings) for some time. I travelled from Glasgow to Pitlochry (past dozens of kilt-shops might I add) to Macnoughtons on the advice that they are "the best kiltmakers in Scotland". I haven't been disappointed. After the initial fitting I was back 6 weeks later to collect my kilt, and buy my sporran, jacket etc. It's probably not the cheapest shop, but the customer service has been second to none all the way through, and you are paying for quality. I am extremely happy with my kilt, and they have a good selection of the accessories that allows you to personalise the whole outfit to your tastes. They are also extremely knowledgeable, and were eager to advise me at every step - even when that meant my buying cheaper options or foregoing items altogether. They were just keen to send me away with the best kilt possible; rather than out to make as much profit as they could which is frustratingly common in other places. If you're looking for a kilt - you've found your kiltmaker. It's worth the long drive, I promise!
