R. R.A giant store, almost a full shopping centre all in itself. It has many levels with various departments, from clothes, to furniture, to electronics and more. The great thing about this one is the location, right in the centre of town, attached to the Highcross Shopping Centre.
A great positive is that this store pretty much has its own parking. You can walk straight from the car park into the store, or carry on into the square.
A. B.No bicycle parking at the entrance. You need to leave your bike 50 meters away. Come on, this is the 21st century, cycle parking is a must. When you enter, you can't see where the 'click & collect' till is, you need to guess, or ask someone. Ground floor: pungent smell of perfumes. I literally got headache due to the intense smell but fortunately, I'm not allergic.
On the positive side: quality products, clean & tidy environment. Not many chavs around.

P.It is a large store located at the Highcross shopping center in Leicester There are many products for the home, such a forniture and furnishing; from toys to electronics and ,course, household appliances of all kinds could not be missing. Surely the customer is spoiled for choice, but unfortunately not in the price, which in my opinion is expensive. Now that we are close to Christmas, the shop has been euriched which decorations and sparkling lights to make it and almost magical place for the visitor;all products for sale are displayed with care and elegance. It is important to point out that this shop has a large parking lot that is always open;while on the upper floor there is a bar, where you can enjoy a good coffee. Although prices are expensive, I highly recommend going to visit.

C. S.Easy to get to, huge car park, which is now a pay by card system. Cross the bridge or walk up the ramp from Highcross, and you enter a huge, light, airy shop, spread over 4 floors. Haberdashery (you don't see that very often these days)! A first class cafe, escalators to all floors, lifts to all floors and excellent clean spacious toilets, with cold water drinking fountains nearby!
Certainly a great shopping experience!
The prices though do reflect the facilities, as in most shops you should compare prices, so you should here.
Click and collect works well, the parking fee (£3.50) is not too bad and if you live close by, then it is easier and perhaps more enjoyable to go into store to collect on line orders, rather than having goods delivered.
Definitely well worth a visit, the TV and camera department on the top floor has very often got some hard to beat bargains.
And have I mentioned the cafe? This is on the top floor and you will not be disappointed!

P. B.This store is excellent. Set in easy proximity to the city centre and with bus stops adjacent it is easily accessible. With lifts and toilets on numerous floors it is accessible to wheelchair occupants and people with impaired mobility. This includes their cafe which I frequently visit. Over the years I have had many bargain purchases. I do Christmas shopping there as I can find most things under one roof. The staff are extremely helpful and are friendly and knowledgeable. I was truly delighted to discover that the Leicester store was being retained when most others were going online. It is a great venue for afternoon tea after going round the city shops. Very reasonably priced. (only £3.50 for a generous slice of cake!!)

G.Parking was easy and convenient, staff were friendly and helpful with my purchase, even saved my item while I went to check if I could get it cheaper at Samsung, however it wasn't cheaper and only came with 12 months warranty at Samsung whereas I got 24 months warranty with John Lewis. L. H.Recently went in to purchase a new TV after having a disastrous time at Currys Fosse Park. The person we dealt with was extremely knowledgeable and helped us from start to finish despite being massively overloaded with customers as I believe they were understaffed that day. Helped us find the right TV and sound bar and even helped us find a price match to get it cheaper. Would definitely recommend to anyone who values good customer service.
R. P.Let me start. I love John Lewis' and Waitrose. Used them both for years but don't generally use the cafe. Quite frankly I'm astounded that in this day and age you could still be charged more for not wanting dairy with your drink. 30p extra for oat milk? You're probably going to get one person who will have some then end up throwing the rest away? Maybe if you didn't charge as an extra, more people would use it? Maybe if you embraced climate change and the need to challenge the norm, maybe you could offer it cheaper then even more people would have it? I thought you guys were smarter?! Use media to promote how climate sensitive you can be!
C. B.Got to the shop to buy a car seat at 10.50am. A member of staff said we cannot talk to you or discuss products til 11am ! Then when I tried to buy car seat I was almost talked out of buying it because my poorly son couldn’t be there. Scared of being sued I assumed ! Then went to pay and only one cash till! Car seat looks decent though. Breakfast was not as good as it used to be.

J. W.I always enjoy visiting my favourite departmental store ... JLP. Then range of products always excellent & the introduction of Any Day makes many things affordable in kitchen/dining. Service was excellent in this area & nothing too much trouble for the assistants.
Like many other stores the ladies clothing looking 'tired' & very disappointing.
Sadly, when asked there wasn't an assistant available to help & advise at the wallpaper & home decorating section.

F. S.This is a nice store which has good clothes and sometimes things you would not expect there. The products are all at a very high standard. But the cafes prices are sometimes a bit ridiculous and their is a long wait time. But overall it is okay.
S. G.I love browsing in the John Lewis store. Also has a lovely restaurant so perfect for families with young children. However a recent trip (December 2021)to the rituals counter was very disappointing. The lady at the till was not interested in helping anyone, she didn't approach us to ask if we needed assistance and when we asked her questions about products we were looking for she just muttered they were out of stock and unlikely to be getting any for a few months. She did not smile the whole time we were there and made the whole shopping experience uncomfortable.

D. R.Exceptional service from Sadhana & Kirti today in the furniture department. I had reserved 2 pillows which were low in stock. Sadhana guided me to customer collections and then checked I had got the pillows after. Super welcoming and genuine.
I was then browsing the lighting in the clearance section. Kirti approached, asked how I was and then offered to plug in the lamp base I was looking at to test with a feature bulb I was also looking at. This was very helpful to give me an idea of the overall effect. I did not have to ask.
Knowledgable and helpful in a genuine fashion.

Told where to find the item that I wanted and was offered assistance and advice (even if I didn't ask for it). There were a group of three boys/young men staff members who weren't in keeping with my general experience (who were talking to each other as if they were at school) and a manager who overlooked me as he was prepping a staff member.

K.One of my favourite shops, to those people complaining about high street shops you should be ashamed of yourself with how much retail has been struggling and encouraging people to shop online so people loose the community, tourism and jobs, some things you are complaining about you could just let go and get a life! John Lewis always try their best and have good ethics they look after the staff and have standards of how and where things are coming from and that's the most important thing to me, people complaining need to get a life when you end up living in a run down slum you'll be sorry.
A. D.Some good quality products here, not necessarily the cheapest, but a good range across a number of floors. A nice selection of seasonal products, at the moment it's a Christmas range. Plus, a nice cafe on the upper floor (good coffee here). There is a car park on the opposite side of the road that is accessible by a covered foot bridge. Generally speaking the staff are very good and attentive (they don't look bored, unlike Debenhams!).
A. S.The store is massive, with great parking nearby, a cafe and lots of other places to visit. The main issue here is the pricing, I rarely visit the store due to this and when I do it is more often than not to look at something in person which I intend to buy online.
The last purchase we made was a large light fitting which had a unique style and was unobtainable anywhere else. We bit the bullet and bought it to find out it had been reduced by £30. My partner contacted the store and was told a refund would not be allowed but after a quick email he received a phonecall and they refunded the difference immediately.

Prices are top end so rarely any bargains. Sadly and despite such a good feel and look to the store they are so lacking in customer service. Car parking close by and possibly the best multi storey car park around. Worth a visit but don't expect anything other than range diversity.

N. S.I visited during the Christmas period. Oh boy did I want to spend. All the goodies I can't buy here in South Africa plus some. Selection of goods amazing. Staff friendly and helpful. Store clean and bright. And if you shold happen to have a lot of goods to walk out with, there is a drop off service for your parcels to pick up later.

p. f.Went here to get a suit. The member of staff in the Ralph Lauren section was absolutely brilliant. Wasn't his section, but went out of his way to help me, you could not get a better service. The gentleman in the fitting area was brilliant too. You couldn't get a better service.

You can rely on them have quality items. Latest purchase was their large wooden train set which my 2 year old is having loads of fun with.

N. C.Visited the store 2 days ago. I needed to buy a number of Egyptian Cotton sheets and pillow cases. Found the floor where you could purchase the required bed linen. I couldn't find what I wanted so I went looking for help. There was no staff visible so I had to go looking for someone Eventually I found a staff member in a nearby none bed linen area. The member of staff did her best to help me The sheets and pillow cases were difficult to find. They were jumbled/ mixed up. The was a lack of signage to help you to find things. I bought the 400 thread Egyptian Cotton sheets and pillow cases eventually. The member of staff who helped me was very helpful.

I must say that if you are shopping only on price then this is not the shop for you, but if quality at several price points is what you're after then this is the place for you.
I have been to several different branches and have always found staff courteous and helpful, without ever being overbearing.
A. P.What can I say that you don't already know about John Lewis? The store is enormous, and there is an extensive range of household products and clothing on offer. The place to go to try any product before you buy it, and the customer service is excellent with legendary customer satisfaction policy. Situated within the Highcross main shopping complex makes this an excellent location to shop.
R. F.Although the store is well set out on this occasion only three stars. Why was there only one example of a whole range of furniture in the store - the 'Abacus'? No way of telling quality or look from the filing cabinet on display? Fortunately IKEA offer something better and much cheaper.

M. G.I t is a lovely shop which we use regularly but pricing is often incomplete and frustratingly when you find an item for a gift there is often no box or the box is damaged. Other customers may have opened boxes roughly. Yesterday we resorted to our third choice due to missing boxes for a wine decanter and a Sophie Conran bowl.
H. M.Had to get a radio replaced as it blew up when we plugged it in. No longer had the receipt as it was a Christmas present, but the radio was JL own brand. Staff were very helpful and as soon as the saw the fault were very quick to provide a replacement. No complaints at all.

J. J.in Leicester if you want half decent clothes that make a statement, the only place is John Lewis for men. I can't fault the staff, always friendly. there could be more of them if I am perfectly honest. maybe Ted Baker could do with their own salesperson, but I am all about developing a relationship with the salesperson, that's just as important as the brand.

My running watch just broke so I needed a new one. My first shopping port of call was always Amazon, having used them for many purchases, so I went online to search for what I wanted. Settled on a nice Nike watch £149.99. Then I thought about Amazon’s aggressive tax avoidance and decided to see if I could buy it from a UK company who paid UK taxes.
Thought of John Lewis having bought cameras etc from them in the past. Found identical watch for identical price but instead of buying online I decided to go to the store in Nottingham, as being a man I hate waiting. Went into the shop, found the watch then went to checkout. A very pleasant female assistant called ‘Ray’ (may have been using a colleague’s badge) she asked if I seen the ones that were on offer for £99. She then realised they had sold out – they were green, instead of black and the colour was being discontinued – but exactly the same.
She sent a colleague to search in stock room and he found one – happy days! I saved £50 and supported a British company.
My message: ‘support British companies who pay British taxes and the shopping fairy may just provide you with a bargain as well’.
Now will be a life long John Lewis customer. Good bye Amazon!
E. H.Enjoyed perusing their haberdashery section. They stock a wide variety of gutterman thread including the hand quilting ones. Not many shops stock the hand quilting threads so I was very pleased to find them
J. W.It's John Lewis. Anything and everything you might need and lots of lovely luxury also. Excellent car park charged for with charging points for electric vehicles. Lots of different departments spread over a number of floors plus a restaurant.

K. W.I can't praise John Lewis enough. They actually care. I recently asked them to call me when a bread maker that was out of stock in the main depot, was available. They called me back and left me a message when it was back in stock, as promised. I deleted the message by mistake and called my local store, I got straight through (my call was answered within 5 seconds after I chose the right department) and they found my order and ordered it in for me (i.e. they didn't just give me another number for the main depot). I often buy from from John Lewis as they often give extended warranties on electrical goods and their service is excellent, if there is a problem. They also look after their staff (they are all shareholders!) and like the person above says, they are good on price and are a British company who pay their taxes. Keep up the the excellent work!!!!
B. M. -. S.Have brought goods from this store ranging from gifts to seasonal products. They have plenty of choice to offer. They have a cafe/restaurant on the top floor and parking space across the road in a multi store that is linked by a enclosed bridge.
C. A.Always a pleasure to visit John Lewis, staff are helpful and knowledgeable, store is always fresh and bright. I was with my 2 year old granddaughter on the hottest day of the summer and it was lovely to sit in the restaurant with a cup of tea and piece of cake (compliments of JL) before heading back into the furnace!

A. O.I'd not been to the Leicester store before, but it's reliable JL. The store is big enough to carry a good range of things but witjout being overwhelming and making you feel lost.
The negative points were the carpark wasn't signposted well at all on the drive in to the city so we missed it. Secondly, there was a lack of dairy & soya free food options in the Place To Eat and the staff weren't that fussed about trying to help us find a suitable meal.

S. H.Needed new bras, in Leicester and was helped by Roshni Surti what a lovely, helpful lady. Knew the sizing of bras and for the first time in years got 2 which fitted beautifully. Not only that, I had mentioned that I'd had breast cancer and she said because of that I would not have to pay VAT. One quick form to fill out and instead of 2 bras I bought 3, as I had saved over £16. I had not released that this VAT thing applied to all sales of bras in any shop for people with cancer of the breast. John Lewis you should give this woman a pay rise !!!

U. E.A decent size John Lewis store in the heart of Leicester. The store is connected to the Highcross mall and John Lewis offers parking which leads you to the mall. Not much to say about John Lewis really other than they tend to offer a good after sales service so I tend to prefer buying from them if the opportunity arises. The good thing is if you park at the John Lewis car park you also have access to all the shops in St Peters Square as well as the mall.

C. B.This store is absolutely massive, with 5 floors full of everything for the home and its owner.
Ground floor:
This floor mainly consists of fashion and perfumes, with one side being for the clothing and the other for perfumes. There is also a jewellery counter that ranges from cheap to high end jewellery.
I don't know much about the brands that the clothes and shoes belong to, but you will find high heels, flats, wedges and sandals. As for the clothes you will find skirts, dresses and jackets, among other things.
However, there is a vast perfume and makeup stall, selling from brands such as Gucci, Christian Dior, Nina Ricci and Yves Saint Lauren.
1st floor:
The first floor consists of home furnishings. These are split into different areas, with items such as tea cups and other wares for the kitchen, towels for the bathroom and more for the other rooms of the house i.e bedroom.
2nd floor:
This floor is mainly for home fixtures and fittings. Sofa, clocks, lampshades and even beds. There are even different chandelier types, and these are hung from the ceiling.
3rd floor:
This floor caters to electronics of all kinds. As you come up the escalator, you are greeted with 4K and 8K tv sets ranging from £200-£4000, as they come from a variety of brands and have different types, such as 4K OLED, 4K or 8K OLED. This floor also sells other electronics such as the latest Samsung products (Note 9 phablet and Tab 4 10.1in tablet). There are also headphones for the avid music listener, Amazon Alexas (also known as Echo and Echo Dot (the smaller version)). Finally, they sell camcorders and old fashioned radios.
4th floor:
This floor caters to kids clothing, and it has everything from newborn, to toddlers, all the way up to age 12. The floor is split into different sections, but it is all open plan. Facing the escalator is jacket section, with parkas and puffer jackets on sale. There are also underwear, tops, bottoms and other accessories, but I didn't get a good look at these, as I was browsing briefly.

D. S.Used our vouchers for free cake and coffee, saw dining table and chairs, table and bench on offer so spent a grand! Expensive cake and coffee when all said, well it was a wet bank holiday.
G. J.We went looking for a heart rate monitor and, while we were on the escalator, a lady member of staff helped us by finding out whether JL had any in-store and where they might be. When we got to the correct level, a young male assistant informed us that the weren't any in the sports department, despite us telling him that the lady on the escalator had said there were. Then another lady member of staff came over and helped us locate where they were. Then another young male assistant found the key to the cabinet and we looked at what JL stocked. In the end we decided not to purchase any heart rate monitor and, as we left the level, the original young man came over and asked if we had found the heart rate monitors. We informed him accordingly and he apologised that he didn't know where they were. In summary, JL staff are usually very helpful indeed.

Besides some amazing Stock as well as Great Deals on Items this is a Great place to Visit when in Leicester! Not only is it Visually Stunning and a Great Shopping Experience, but on it's Top Floor is an absolutely Amazing Restaurant with Views overlooking some Stunning Modern Parts of the City but also offers some Wonderful Food!! All I can say is 5 Stars all around!!!!

J. A.A few weeks ago I rang JL Nottingham to enquire about some Sanderson wallpaper that I wanted to order as I wanted a different colour way to what is on-line. I was put through to the department that deals with the wallpaper and told categorically that I could only order what was on-line. Last Saturday we went to the JL in Leicester regarding a carpet that we are having fitted. (I visit Nottingham a lot as that is where I am from but we come under Leicester for where we live now.) I just thought I would enquire about the same wallpaper and yesterday I received a telephone call from Leicester to say that the colour way I wanted is on the way. That was a £200 plus order that Nottingham lost out on but well done to Leicester. I know where I will go next time!
