I recently purchased wardrobes from Housing Units. Having them delivered and fitted was included in the price. We are so happy with the finished product, thank you to Ben who did this for us. Ordered a Sofa,armchair in June 2021. It took till 26th January 2022 to be delivered, OK covid delays I can understand. But a certain office person give me wrong information re delivery in September, I wasn't happy with her . Move on to Victoria who brought me update and she was so good and I got my goods. Best place for quality furniture's for home. All my home furniture's are from this place. Just refurbished my home again and ordered furniture again. Only thing this time is the delivery date keeps delaying. I dont think they are to be blamed as the manufacturer's are delaying. All to do with Brexit i guess!! Would recommend this place hands down.. You might pay more but cant beat them on quality.

Take delivery or pick up dates with a pinch of salt. Be prepared to be fobbed off with excuses about warehouse staff etc etc . If you do this the items are generally of good quality and reasonably priced. Staff on the shop floor are helpful and it’s after you pay the issues begin.

I enjoy shopping at housing units! There's a huge variety of household items,gifts,and more which are situated over a few different buildings & departments, all are wheelchair and pushchair friendly and there free parking. I do love a bargain though, so I tend to shop here more in the sales. The majority of staff give excellent customer service. I especially like the Coo Chi Coo store, the nursery packages that are available are stunning, very affordable & came with some great extras, Michelle the assistant also gave me advice on payment options,delivery & product insurance, she was very helpful.

Amazing customer service. Replied to a problem I had with a delivered item and immediately arranged a refund. It is risky buying things on line. I was attracted to this company as the product was much cheaper than other places. Sometimes cheaper companies have horrendous customer service and you can lose your money if you have a problem. However Housing Units were faultless. I would certainly order from them again.

Ordered a table over 4 months ago and initially service seemed good. Delivery company were excellent and kindly held it for us while our extension was finished. Table arrived last week and the glass top (cost £2000) is damaged. It was very poorly packaged and the polystyrene crumbled completely around it. There is no way we can use it as it is in thousands of pieces. They are not willing (or able) to replace it and have asked us to return it in the damaged packaging. I do not feel this is safe to do as the table is extremely heavy (took 4 men to lift it) and could cause injury incorrectly packaged. A piece of cardboard around a 2.4 x 1 metre piece of glass is just not safe! I don't think the courier will consider allowing their staff to collect it not being in protective packaging. THEY NOW WANT A PHOTO OF IT CORRECTLY PACKAGED IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING THAT HAS DISINTERGRATED. They have offered £100 but this goes no where near the cost to replace the glass. Love the table, courier was great but so disappointed with housing units. £2000 wasted!! Following this review, I was able to speak to Housing Units and the matter was resolved. I was given £250 towards replacing the faulty glass which I accepted as we want the table (which is now unavailable). Thank you for resolving this matter

Finally my Rattan Lagos Garden furniture arrived today. I ordered the garden furniture in November 2020. It has been worth the wait. It looks amazing on the decking area in the garden. Absolutely thrilled with it. The delivery guys were great. They took all the boxes away so we had very little to dispose of. Great job guys. Lesley Cooper

As mentioned in previous reviews, their website ordering process can, and does go faulty. Got accepted for finance and paid deposit for garden furniture. When I tried to complete the order, the website went to a 404 error and every attempt after was the same. It was good Friday morning so had to wait until Tuesday to contact customer service. After about half an hour it was sorted out, but was a bit annoying that I had to wait a few days to see if my order was OK, considering we found other furniture that was cheaper with a quicker delivery time elsewhere.

Really good quality and the delivery drivers were genuinely lovely - they carried it upstairs into the room of my choice and set up so quickly. I would have to say the only negative is the 14 week wait from order to delivery however I suspect a big factor in this is Covid and now I do have the item, it was worth waiting for :)

Set over 2 plots with a large free car park. Selling high quality furniture/household items on 2 floors. Lift to first floor. 2 cafes serving a good selection of food/drink, toilets. Went on this occasion to see the Xmas department which is lovely as usual. Well worth a visit.

Really disappointed, I placed an order for a bin because it said delivery 5 to 10 days. When I paid it then told me 12 weeks!!!! Still waiting patiently, I hope it's worth it. I will give 5 stars if it is. At the end of the day, I'm sure this company like many are having trouble with timescales because of this dreaded covid, so me giving 1 star probably isn't fair, but as I've not got my goods yet 1 star for now but watch this space, WHEN I get my goods I'll up date it accordingly. Update: I had a lovely lady contact me, helped me select and order a different product which I'm happy with. Friendly and professional. I know the covid has caused alot of logistical problems and stock is an issue, we all have to give retail a break. I will be more than happy to deal with Housing Units as long as I get my goods.

I bought a sofa, and when it arrived it did not fit though the door, it was returned to the warehouse. I spoke to customer services, and they had staff look at this in the warehouse and discovered arms of the sofa's could be removed. Then someone came out to the property and measured and up and said it would now fit though the doors. it was delivered and the arms were reattached by the delivery staff. I don't believe if I had ordered from a large business the service would have been as personal and the issue resolved with a positive outcome . I would defiantly recommend Housing Units and would buy from them again

At a time when it has been difficult to get through to most companies on the phone I've literally been blown away by the top notch customer service from this company. I sent them an email about a minor issue with an item I had purchased online, within 2 hours a very friendly staff member called to rectify the problem and more than compensated for the slight problem. To date I've bought dining chairs and a chandelier online and I am delighted by the quality of the goods. I intend to make a trip to Manchester (3 hours away) soon to visit the store in person and check out their sofas. I literally don't want to buy from another homeware store ever again at this point!! We used Housing Units to completely fit out a new apartment my company had purchased in Manchester city centre. The team were extremely helpful in helping us to choose everything from the furniture through to bedding, kitchen equipment etc. They then delivered everything and fitted out the apartment for us. Every item purchased was of the highest quality and our apartment is now beautifully furnished and equipped. Had a wonderful experience in Housing Units recently. They have some excellent festive displays. I felt welcomed from the start of my visit as I was greeted by the doormen on my way in. I had a good look round the emporium where it was obviously busy but staff were happy to help when they became available. I also looked round the home furnishing store where there were a few more staff members available. Again these were polite, knowledgeable about the products and I felt that they genuinely wanted to help. Overall I would definitely visit Housing Units again, service was good and products all appeared to be of a high quality.

I visited Housing Units for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Not only we're all the staff extremely helpful, I didn't feel as though I was being chased around the furniture department for a sale. The sales assistant that helped me was particularly knowledgeable and there was a huge selection within the particular department. Housing Units have a loyalty scheme which keeps you updated on their sales which I think is a good idea. I would definitely recommend this store as you're allowed to shop in peace but with the knowledge that staff are extremely helpful even if you aren't buying on the day. Will be going back in the near future as this is a lovely place to shop.

I went to Housing Units, yesterday and it is a long time since I have been into a store, where everyone smiled and spoke to you. The staff were very helpful, and couldn't do enough for you. I was looking for a bedspread which they opened out for me to see, then when I said I would have it, went to the store room and brought another one out all neatly packaged, then left it at the cash desk until I had finished shopping. The store is easy to find, with large free car parks, restaurant, toilets etc. This was my second visit and will definitely be going back. Also a 28 days return policy

Also, as I was in a bit of a hurry, it was great to see so many staff around so it was quick and easy to find what I was looking for. The finest, friendliest, most professional customer service you will find anywhere. This shop is a delight, I cannot speak highly enough of it. They even have a smart doorman! Located out of town with a huge car park just off the main road. There are plenty of nearby buses too. Once inside smartly uniformed friendly and professional staff greet you as you enter each department. Then you are left to browse in peace. And the store is stocked with great quality items so there is much to browse. They sell pretty much everything for the home. Need assistance? Look across and the staff will be over in a flash to help you. They know their stock too. Decide to buy something? The staff suggest that they put the item behind the till, after all you wouldn’t want to have to carry it round the store with you! So civilised. I thought that quality shopping had been wiped off the map until I paid them a visit. Please go - it will restore your faith in retail- it did for me.

Great store with everything to furnish your home beautifully. Went looking for new coffee table and matching lamp but unsure quite what I wanted. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their products. One member of staff went out of their way to check the catalogues for lamp in different colour. I couldn't find table that I wanted in furniture department but staff informed me of the different places to look in other departments. It was really nice to walk around store with smiling staff in the majority of departments.

Housing units is a great place for everything you need for your home I have bought so much stuff from here And it’s always brilliant quality and the staff are all so helpful. The restaurant the Wicken tree does excellent food I come at least twice a month for the past 7 years and always have a great meal and the staff are all excellent and friendly.

Some of the furniture is expensive, but there are some unusual looking pieces. It's a similar experience for the kitchen wear. At first glance the restaurant might seem expensive, but I would definitely recommend trying it. Once you see the portion size, taste the food and see how it is presented it becomes well worth the price.

'The Housing Units have a good variety of products and departments/shops for whatever you are looking for. They have some sales on but also have high end products that are more expensive so you can go in with whatever budget. The staff in the sofa department were fab and really knowledgable and helpful but aren't too much hassling people to buy. The Christmas dept is great (but really busy!). The shopping centre is really easy to get to and conveniently located just off the M60. Parking is brill; there are ample spaces around all buildings. I will be back again and it would be great to visit the seasonal section in the summer months also.'

First Class Customer Service in the Bed/pillow department yesterday from Carol ! I have been having some difficulty replacing my old 'Hypnos Reactive low profile pillows' purchased at Housing Units 3yrs snd 5yrs ago respectively these past few wks and after finding the ones I ordered online seemed to have a 'rustling/crackling' noise with them ? and having to return them as 'faulty' I decided it best I ring the Dept to see if they had other ones in stock and take it from there. From my initial contact with Carol on the phone she was a true professional, she understood my issue fully and offered to check their stock of both low and high profile pillows and really could not do enough to ensure I was happy with my enquiry. Carol later called me back and I went along to the Dept where I was able to inspect and try out the pillows with her help and advice and make a new purchase and with their 10% reduction in price in the Winter sale. I saw Carol was wearing a 'trainee' badge and has only been at the store a matter of wks. She is a credit to Housing Units and in my opinion a very valuable addition to their team. (the only issue I still have is that after collecting my new pillows from their Distribution Centre as they were closing and on getting them home they too are making a 'rustling' noise ) ! 😕

I have been looking for new bedroom furniture for my new house in Scotland. I saw some beautiful furniture in HU bedroom dept where Janet was v helpful and efficient. I ordered it yesterday. I was so happy that I went off to another dept and bought a new dining table and chairs. I will definitely be back to visit housing units to kit my house out... free parking is a bonus, for numerous shops covering all sorts of home furnishings you need. The staff are knowledgeable and approachable and happy to help. It's easy to get to all shops as the layout is great. I would recommend going here for furniture, home ware and there are clothes shops too! Some departments even do finance options for bigger purchases which is brill.

I queried this and it was resolved with no quibbles and a replacement was sent to us direct from the manufacturer within a couple of days. I've not been to Housing Units for a while but I'm pleased to say it's as worthwhile visiting as ever. Lunch in the Wicken Tree restaurant was good if a little pricy. The service was friendly and efficient. All parts of the store and cafe / restaurant were busy which is great to see given the issues within the retail sector.

Visited the housing units looking for a new bedroom lamp and was very impressed with the large range and reasonably priced products on offer. Lots of Free parking spaces. Lots of different stores to look around and some great bargains. Staff super helpful and friendly told me all about the family run housing units which have been there over 70 years! I enjoy shopping at Housing Units because it is stress free. Parking is easy, the range of goods is wide and you can get excellent food and a lovely coffee. Absolutely fabulous store. Lovely products and fantastic customer service. I came from work dressed in my scruffs and was not looked down by any staff at all. They were all friendly and there were plenty of banter with them. They went out of their way to find the products I was looking for. I ordered a table and chair set on 19th December they did everything they could and did it for me it was delivered on 21st. Went back Christmas Eve to buy some small furniture yet again excellent customer service and the guys at their warehouse are also so helpful. Don’t get me wrong when I say Housing Units is not as good as it once was as it is still a cut above the rest shopping experience. Staff could not be more welcoming or helpful. Great selection of designer bags, lighting, furniture, kitchen goods, fashion jewellery, Christmas department (in season) framed prints, mirrors etc; etc. However! Once upon a time (when the Fox family were the owners) you could almost always be guaranteed to find that extra special gift item but these days the range of products hardly seems to change and worse, they have stopped selling ladies shoes and the Marvala products...what’s going on?

I was initially very disappointed after I had entered the Home Furnishings store looking for a TV unit. I was barely spoken to and had to ask for someone to help me only to be given a brief answer and sent upstairs. It felt as though my custom wasn't needed so after a second attempt at service with no great response I left. I then went to the Emporium to look at a new mattress where I received a completely different level of service. The young lady was very friendly and was only too happy to help me find exactly what I needed showing great knowledge of the products available and suggested I should lie down so I could get a good feel of each one. I went upstairs to look at an Electric suite and was very impressed with the variety of products. Again great service here where the young lady who served me showed confidence in demonstrating the Suites and I felt she was showing me products that met my requirements. Housing units had a great range of quality and stylish products and I would recommend this complex for anyone who is in need up home improvement.

Visited thinking it was just another DFS, Harvey's, etc. Pleasantly surprised! So much wonderful furniture to choose from, with some really good clearance items. Split between two large showrooms on site, both with two floors. It's a shame that we are currently waiting on the purchase of a new house so couldn't commit to any of the fantastic stock. Bonus, there is a really nice restaurant in one of the two buildings (standard café in the other building). Enjoyed a great burger and chips, whilst my partner has a good quality chicken and bacon salad. Looked like they did a nice afternoon tea as well.

Always enjoy shopping at Housing units. Good quality goods and excellent service. Have had a few things delivered and happy with service. Only downside is there is a long queue for a coffee at weekends! Parking is really easy and it's close to the motorway network so it makes for a stress free environment.

Great place tucked away in Failsworth. So amazing to have this on my doorstep. So many experienced staff on hand for small and large purchases - Everything from candles to bathroom suites. I went looking for a coat for my niece in their kids department - so cute and the staff are great! A friend recently recommended the Housing units in Manchester, as I was looking for a three piece suite and a Dining table and chairs. On arrival I found there was ample parking, which is a blessing for Manchester. I visited three different departments which were all in separate buildings. Fab Customer Service - Please Read On - I recently ordered a couple of sets of bedding complete with throws and cushions online! I collected from my local courier depot as was easier for me rather than taking time off work to take the delivery at home. I was very impressed with the swift response to acknowledge my order and the information received from the courier regarding tracking my order and redirecting it to collect from the depot. Some of the items were unsuitable and after informing Housing Units Customer Service Department via email, they were in touch the following day via telephone to arrange the return!! I have been shopping again today in-store and found exactly what I want and several more items that I will want when budget allows and would thoroughly recommend visiting Housing Units either online or if possible visit the store - its a lovely day out!!

I had a good experience at Housing Units when I shopped around for a few items in different departments. I was looking at fireplaces and electric suites and they had a large range with something for everyone. It took a while for someone to approach me but I did leave with a brochure to peruse at home and was informed about their price match policy. Next I was looking for a replacement bed and the assistant encouraged me to find the right mattress by lying down on them to find the right level of firmness. It helps to do some research beforehand to have an idea what kind of spring and storage option you want. Finally, I was looking at glass tables and the assistant was extremely helpful and attentive and showed me many different tables and suggested how to look after the glass and matching chairs. She even offered to let me know if the tables went down in price in the upcoming sale and demonstrated really well the extending tables. I would definitely go back to Housing Units if I was looking to purchase or browse many home items in one location.

Visited today at the Failsworth store in Manchester. Excellent experience! Our 4 year old had a magical time. Booked £15 session and it's worth every penny. Better than trafford centre and other grottos. Santa was very friendly and had a conversation with our son. There was no rush at all. The gift is a decent model car which he can keep as a remembrance of his first interactive and magical experience. Better than a lot other rip off grottos where the staff is moody and appear as they arent interested. Loved it !!!

You could spend all day in here having a look around, I'd recommend eating here too as the food is prepared fresh and tastes really nice. Staff will take care of you however, I got the impression that if they know you're not going to buy anything as you need to think about it or check if furniture will fit, they are eager to walk away! This happened twice yesterday to us when they didn't have the TV stand in the colour I wanted or the coffee table with matching side table. We were told if we bought something in store we couldn't return it, even if they didn't have it on display to look at it. They advised I went online to look at the picture then buy it off their website and then I could return it. After leaving rather dismayed I thought I'd give a review, deducting one star for the negatives here and hope they amend their policy. I really don't understand why you're stuck with an item that you can't look at before deciding to purchase it in store.

I especially love the kitchen department, I went to find a toaster and was greeted by a lovely young lady who helped me find the perfect toaster for my large family. The down side of housing units is that I always spend money even if I just go for a mouch.

We purchased the suite online, some of the items were missing/not listed and the lady on the phone added them to the website !!! Great service, returned that evening to purchase the extra 5 year warranty as you can't do that online ? We were greeted by Rachel ,I think she was called, the restaurant manager who gave us complimentary gift vouchers for the restaurant, unexpected but a lovely gesture nonetheless. Below review not a reflection on the service we got in the shop whatsoever, just wanted to clarify this, thank you Went to housing units today to purchase a new sofa . We thought we would call in the restaurant for something to eat . We booked for 2pm and turned up and was seated . We ordered a steak sandwich and a ham and piccalilli sandwich with chips coleslaw and a 2 drinks ( coke and a regular filter coffee) the bill came to £31.75 !! Ok I accept that it's pricey and for that price I would expect quality food . We ordered at 2:30pm and within 10 min we had our drinks . 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our food . We had noticed that people who were seated after us were being served food , so we asked where our order was . We were told ours would be the next order out . What arrived was terrible . Half a baguette with steak on . A ham sandwich with 1 slice of ham on . 1 small bowl of coleslaw and 2 small wire bowls of chips . I couldn't believe I'd paid that much for something I could have walked across the road to Morrisons and got a far better deal for £7 . I don't mind paying for decent food but the food served in there was shambolic . However, Sue in the factory outlet shop couldn't have been move helpful and we will be returning on Thursday to purchase our new sofa .

On my visit to the Failsworth housing units complex, my initial impression was that the site had a welcoming approach. I was pleasantly surprised driving up to see how well structured and laid out the shopping centre was. It is obviously a popular shopping area as the weather was not at all the best, yet still we found it difficult to park not because of inadequate parking numbers, but simply that the car park was full. All the stores we visited were well laid out and the Emporium looks as though we could've been in one of the big named stores on Deansgate Manchester or at the top of Market Street in Manchester. The staff that dealt with us in the shop which sold car seats and baby goods was wonderful, attentive and very helpful. However, this was not to be the case at several other stores which we visited and found we had to deliberately present ourselves to shop assistants in order to get any service. This was quite A dampener on what initially seemed set out to be a wonderful shopping experience. Not withstanding, the less than satisfactory Service from a couple of the stores our overall impression was that we would return to housing units to shop.

Housing units is a great visit, especially around Christmas time as they set up a great grotto style section in one of the buildings. The doormen are a nice touch and their range is vast and appears to be of good quality. From furnishings to fireplaces, Kitchens and Bathrooms they have a lot to offer. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is the prices are pretty high. I appreciate they have a lot of things but you can probably find the same things cheaper with a little bit of looking.

Housing units have always been one of our first ports of call for house hold items without much problem. However for the first time we took out furniture insurance on a sofa and chair through HU with Castelan Group. Unfortunately we have had to make a claim for a structural defect and Castelan Group are dragging there heels despite agreeing a valid claim. Two months on and now they say another month to decide how to proceed as the chair parts are not available. Meanwhile we cant use the chair or go buy another whist waiting. Wont be having the Insurance next time, calls cost a fortune and you get fobbed of with " staff Shortages".

Wow! I recently visited Hoysing Units in Failsworth after a friend told me how good it was, that was an understatement, this place is fantastic, lots of great quality goods but at affordable prices, from baby and children's items to household furniture and fittings, lots of gift ideas and of course being this time of year, Father Christmas 😀 But it's not just a Santa sat on a chair, it's a whole experience to delight your little ones, (and big people to, I was delighted as it reminded me of the little grotto I visited when I was a child), there's talking raindeers and a chimney whith Santas legs sticking out the bottom in a lovely little house, it's all animated with the touch of a button then you are met by two lovely little Elves who guide you through an enchanted walkway towards Santas home, a gift and a photo are offered to visiting children and big smiles all round, well worth a visit, I will certainly be going again 👍❤️
