Always come here first for electricals and home furnishings. Always very clean, super professional staff and a great range of products. Esp if I'm looking for something extra special e.g. Mother's Day/birthday cards or presents. Update 28.08.2021 - the place to eat is open. Limited hot food menu but a large selection of cakes.

Always used to be great for customer service and product availability. Increasingly I find a lot of staff (including cafe staff) to be rude, disinterested and more content to be standing around gossiping rather then helping customers. Products are often displayed, such as furniture but then when you place and order they are actually on back order and will take months to arrive. Disappointing- John Lewis has massively gone down hill.

Great service and the staff definitely went the extra mile ... Followed up the delayed order for my stepson who placed the order online in November. The staff in perfumery and customer collections were first class in identifying the issue. The goods were still out of stock a month later so they arranged a refund, I bought a replacement gift and they price matched the new gift. All done in a courteous manner and with a smile. I have always thought JL staff were better than most stores at customer service but this was a great example of them going the extra mile. Will definitely make sure I will tell friends and family about the service received. Well done John Lewis, Norwich and a very merry Christmas.

Great for certain things like Kitchenware and electrical goods but when looking for something specific in other departments in this case a Kipling handbag for my wife which she had seen on their website but wanted to look at but the shop didn’t have any of that company’s handbags in the store.

I bought my curtains here. The lady working at this section was really friendly and helpful. She explained everything and cut the curtains for me to the right measure. I finished sewing them yesterday and they look fabulous. Thank you. I definitely recommend this store to everyone.

Generally like JL but the small cafe is no longer to be recommended. Expensive (£2.50 for a cup of tea!) an did not even have any pre-packed food available 30 mins before closing. Attitude of cafe staff barely civil. Been customers of Bonds and JL for years but now disappointed.

A well spaced store with a good variety of departments and products, spreadover multiple levels. Good accessibility with stairs, lifts and escalators. Plenty of clean toilets, cafe, and car parking, although it soon racks up in cost so allow a good £10 to cover it. I really enjoy there kitchen and homewears departments and there is a good supply of sewing and knitting items including patterns. Well worth a visit.

I am a regular JL shopper, and am never disappointed by the service. I visited the perfume department today and was so impressed. Three members of staff helped me, including the dyson hair lady and the YSL lady. They all made me feel so welcome and went out of their way to find me a perfume. So many brilliant recommendations, I left the store with a perfume far more perfect than I would have chosen on my own. Big thanks I will definitely be returning again soon!

To be honest finding my way back to the in-house car park as a newbie was difficult. This John Lewis has convenient on site parking and a range of different departments within. The staff are friendly and helpful. They extend their hours on Thursdays in line with late night shopping. Marked down for the horrific experiance i had in the toilets; very unclean. Infact, I was shocked at someones ability to create such a scene. Staff seemingly hadn't cleaned in there for some time.

Great service here today as always. Staff are Always willing to check items and go the extra mile. Cooked food in The place to eat was looking a little tired (13.20pm). The opted for coffee and baguette was a hefty £8 but in fairness the baguette was enough for two. Toilets were clean Good couple of purchases but I have to say that many dresses here now all seem to range cost around £200 so priced outside my budget. Most other items in line with my expectations

Not many shoppers but we were all carefully 2m distancing. Cafe not open but mezzanine coffee bar open. Small selection of sandwiches ( cheese&tomato or ham&cheese) small selection of cakes including gluten free. Designated entrances and exits, altho some shoppers going out the in, but asked to wait until shoppers had exited. Changes but it's the new normal now.

Very helpful and friendly. In the restaurant the cleaner was working very hard to clean up everywhere and keep the area clean and tidy and in the lingerie department the sales lady Victoria went out of her way to look up and find my particular size of bra. A lovely experience with young 2 year old grandson who loved the sparkling lights.

A very large department site with a wide range of goods and a professional and polite staff. You could easily get lost in this store, it is so huge and there is something for everyone. If you love window shopping, browsing, shopping or people watching, this is a great place to come. The loss of a star comes from the fact that the prices just cannot compete with the online stores. This is made up for, to a degree, by being able to see the items and seek advice before you buy from a real person. If, like me, crowded stores are your idea of hell, I would avoid but otherwise you will find what you are looking for.

This review of only 3 stars makes me sad really because I love John Lewis. All departments are great with helpful staff, apart from the upper level electric's, tv's etc... I have been to that department twice In recent months and both times have found the the staff to be condescending and rude. The first visit was to buy a new tv, we were approached by the Samsung rep who just couldn't get his head around we didn't want to buy a Samsung tv, but once he released that we really didn't want to buy one he was just rude. Same happened with the Sony rep. I would suggest that JL takes these people back on rather than having them employed by those named companies so they can give independent advice, rather than a commission based opinion. The latest bad experience happened Friday with my 11 old son asking advice on buying an goggle hub ( with me by his side) , I ended up stepping in to help my son due to the way he was being treated/spoken to. Funny enough Sony rep was present again and I'm guessing when those brand based staff realise there is no commission to be had there interest wanes. Certainly that seems the case, as I have no issues throughout the store apart from that department, the first time I let it slide as everybody is allow off days ,but in this department it seems the norm, unless there is commission to be had of course!

Cavernous store with many departments offering almost all you could ever need. The staff are smartly turned out, polite and helpful. The extended 2 year guarantee they offer on some electrical items is also very good. The café is also nice for a coffee and a scone or two!

This John Lewis is like no other. It is a hive of small levels and intricate alleys. It has a vast amount of cookware and decent for clothing from young to old. Parking is decent and if you attend the cafe there are indications of what the shop looked like from 100 years ago and damage sustained during the second world war.

The Place to Eat restaurant on the second floor is always great. It gets busy at times because the atmosphere and food are so good. They *have* recently changed from making their scones onsite to buying pre-made in, which is a bit controversial. They shouldn't have messed with them!

We went to the Norwich store 18-11-18 at 11.02 am to have breakfast in the restaurant on the 2nd floor. Due to the restaurant being very busy there was a delay in service which resulted in a 15 min delay in cooking food. The staff were most apologetic about the situation. When the food arrived at our table it was well presented and very hot throughout. Again the staff apologised. The food was most enjoyable. The sevice was excellent we will recommend to others and will be calling there again.

Why buy from anywhere else....Without a receipt, customer services in Norwich trawled through transactions to find my purchase of a pair of Rayban sunglasses ...one of the lenses dropped out. Despite having been purchased in the John Lewis sale, the pair were replaced with a new full priced pair...thank you so much to all the lovely staff who went out of their way to help...

Always had good instore service with John lewis and also aftersales with the instore team. My only advise to the chain in gerneral would be to ditch the central call centre, wrong information is often given and they do not offer the same level of service as in store staff! UPDATE Jan 2020 Why have you as a chain decided to offshore call centre jobs to the Philippines. This is a bad move, as this will only lower quality further, and will make me only go into store further instead to get issues resolved.

The Norwich branch of John Lewis is a generously sized department store located at the edge of the city centre. It has its own multi storey car park, which is handy, particularly if you're only looking to shop at John Lewis. It offers all the usual departments you'd expect, including a large haberdashery section. It has a couple of places to eat as well, with a small cafe plus a restaurant too. If I had one criticism, it is that the section for sports goods isn't particularly large or varied.
