Absolutely amazing !!! Spread over three floors, John Lewis and Partners in Westgate has a massive collection of almost everything for home. Furniture, electronic items, crockery, cutlery, bed, clothes, luxury items, gift items, board games and what not... There is also a cafe and ice cream shop on ground and top floors. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Been looking for a coat for my 5yr old daughter and the usual shops either had nothing in her size or just no coats. Finally managed to find a good selection at John Lewis and was also assisted by a member of staff who told me the coat I was looking at was actually on sale even though there was no indication on the price tag. Made my decision easier and I bought it.

Been into jewelry stores and spoken to tech teams who couldn't help me resize my Huawei smart watch strap (metal strap) Abi in the jewelry department was immensely helpful, showed me what to do and kindly gave me a tool to do it myself for next time. Huawei don't send their customers in the UK the tool to do it themselves (frustratingly). Top class service and I'll be back to buy things from this John Lewis after seeing how helpful everyone is!

I was disappointed with the disgendering of the fragrances. I would be loathe to accidentally walk away with feminine fragrance. Before there is any backlash AFAB here! But.. In the menswear department, my shock, dismay and confusion are very rapidly made up for. What amazing and friendly customer service!!! Lovely professionalism. Helpful, friendly and quite frankly wonderful. These people simply know how to treat their customers. My favourite shop in Oxford, by a mile. I am grateful for such a fantastic store.

Visited yesterday after 2 year break and found the store fully operational. Everything was clean, especially Place to Eat. Menu is limited but staff very helpful. I would like to commend the staff I met. It is so nice to meet people who understand what customer care means. This was after I had to deal with a surly bus driver who was so rude he just grunted, it really highlighted the differences!

Huge store over 3 levels, with great departments for home and technology, as well as the usual fashion, beauty etc. Direct access to underground car parking at Westgate with many electric (EV) charge points, which are free to use (as you pay for parking) Also has direct lift access from car park for click and collect in store, which is free.

I was in Oxford recently and thought I'd pop into John Lewis to look at Coffee machines: my Cappuccino machine had broken down after 5 years of tough service. I was greeted by a young chap in black suit and tie who was very knowledgeable about all the coffee machines they have on sale. After a brief chat I decided to buy the latest SMEG (ECF01). This coffee machine is fairly basic but I only require it to produce an Espresso shot for my Cappuccino. After just 5 minutes at home I had my first cappuccino from this SMEG. WOW! I am stunned by how good this machine is. I am sitting in a Cafe Nero at the moment typing this and although their Cappuccino is ok, it has a slight bitterness that leaves an after taste. The SMEG does not! I use pre-ground Lavazza coffee and the SMEG produces an incredibly smooth tasting cappuccino, no bitterness, a nutty after taste and a burning desire for another cup! I use a Lavazza milk frother (£29 from John Lewis) and this gem is another great asset! Well done John Lewis, excellent trained staff, wide range of choice to suit all budgets and super warranty backup!!

Went to John Lewis as my son needed to buy his first suit (and it seemed a more fashionable choice than M&S!) He was served by a young man called Devon, who was the epitome of excellent customer service - kind and helpful without being over the top or supercilious. We want to say a huge thank you to Anna in the Nursery Advice team. We booked an appointment because we were struggling to get our heads round all the different types of car seat. Anna was really knowledgeable and helpful in explaining it all to us, and then did the same for baby carriers, sleeping kit and more. It never felt like she was trying to push us to buy anything we didn't want or need. We felt we got objective, well-informed advice. She was also very thoughtful in making sure my pregnant partner had somewhere to sit down and water to drink when it was getting a bit too hot. Really impressive service. Thank you!

Today I took my elderly mother shopping in John Lewis Oxford. We were looking for the fitting rooms when we met Mushak? near the Personal Shopper area. He showed my disabled mother into a lovely changing room used for personal shoppers even though we had not made an appointment. He then searched the store to find items she wanted to try on and kept returning with different sizes when requested. He was pleasant, polite and nothing was too much trouble. He made the whole experience perfect for my mother. She was able to sit down in the changing room and then also sit down while her items were packed and paid for. What a credit to John Lewis!!

My mum was at the Chanel counter today, and not only did someone go out of her way to find my mum and tell her when the assistant was available, but the assistant was so good at her job. She was so professional with the product selection, and she was incredibly friendly and warm.

I bought a pair of shoes yesterday at John Lewis Oxford. Only when I got home did I realise they were different colours. I rang and spoke to a Catherine on customer service line, she contacted the store. A lovely lady called Emily rang me apologies and when I get to the store they gave me the correct shoe, price matched it refunding me £4.50 and gave me a voucher for coffee and cake for two. Thank you to John Lewis and your fabulous staff, I feel like a valued customer. Plus your coffee and cake were yummy.

Decent sized John lewis store, it's not as large as some but the layout is better in my opinion and nearly all departments are represented. There's a reasonable selection of kids clothes including shoes. White goods, furniture, electronics, etc. are all available. Staff are friendly and helpful. What is a little different is that the ground floor cafe is by benugo, and the top floor restaurant is Scandinavian, so it's something a little different from other John lewis branches. As it's located in the new Westgate centre, there's plenty of parking and a dedicated collection area.

I only used the cafe to meet with a friend. It was quite busy, but kept clean and efficient service. The coffee was reasonably priced but the food was in my opinion, overly priced and cold, considering I asked for it to be toasted. The customer service was good, nice and friendly, but they didn't seem to have toilet facilities close by, or not clearly marked.

This is a great store. It's set out rather well and I managed to find the things I was looking for. The staff are friendly and on hand to help you find your way if you do struggle. There is clear signage for things like lifts, escalators, and departments which is a great help for navigating your way around a big store.

Clean and tidy, with plenty of stock on show. Popped in to spend a voucher and found a good supply of board games, 'fun' foods, gadgets, clothing and various other bits. Ended up trying on various shoes for men and was surprised to find only one attendant, and one sofa (both of which were being utilised), so I had to wait for 5-10 mins to ask for my size and have a seat! Overall, pretty standard department store.

Went to the cafe to study. Wanted to get a decaf soy cappuccino but the machine only did decaf coffee with dairy milk and the drinks barista bit only did caffeinated coffee. The barista suggested me to get a decaf espresso shot and they would make the cappuccino for me at the bar, but it took me a long time to register what he was on about and he ended up asking if I would like him to do it for me. Then as I was struggling to pick up a piece of cake with bags in my hands, an assistant came to offer me help and was very friendly. The cashier was also very lovely. The cake was a bit sickly sweet but it was very moist and the sponge was so light. Coffee was okay for a machine coffee. But I really appreciated the effort they made. The cafe itself is quite dim and lacks plugs, maybe better as a place to relax than to study. In general, thank you for the great customer service!

Just now I’ve been to John Lewis Oxford to get a Vax Blade 2 Max cordless vacuum cleaner and there was a bit of a technical issue with their till system. Despite the slight delay, the staff members (Monika and Fan) were extremely efficient, friendly and professional throughout which made the entire experience extremely pleasant. I can’t commend their professionalism enough in dealing with the issue and I would definitely visit the store again in the future! :)

Extremely disappointed, went to buy a handbag in the sale yesterday reduced from £119 to £23.60 only for the sales assistant and manageress to say it is no longer in the sale and has been recalled. No explanation, quite rude and no notices to say item had been recalled.

Good customer service. Online purchase with a gift card didn't fit. Went to the new Oxford store. Didn't have stock of the item in the right size so chose a slightly cheaper item. The checkout till guided the 'partner' through the transaction and the cost difference was refunded to the gift card. Win!

John Lewis has a price promise, it offers to match the market price. Recently i bought a 49inch TV online and it has 5 years warranty included as standard. The delivery timing was excellent. When i found out my TV has problem with Freeview playback, they offered many choices for solution. Firstly it has a 30 days non satisfaction return policy. It also offered an immediate exchange if i like, or wait for the manufacturer to put the software right within 6 months, then exchange. In the end i just asked for some compensation, and they very kindly returned a generous amount to me. John Lewis' Model of Trading is very difficult to beat. Staffs are friendly, honest and courteous. That is why i rate it a five stars.

Shopped here several times and the staff from the children's department are extremely friendly - not the most knowlegable, as most will often resort to looking at the item on the website through their phones to be able to tell me anything about it. However, we purchased a baby monitor recently and when we got home it turns out we'd just picked up the display box! Most expensive bit of packaging we'd ever bought, let me tell you. After bringing the box back to get the rest of it the staff refunded and resold us the item with a discount knocked off.

Tried the cafe for lunch. We had an issue with both being overcharged due to individual plates not being priced. A little gentle discussion and we eventually got a refund for the overcharged amount, no apology though. I really hope John Lewis Oxford keeps developing its ranges and adds some more unique stock. Currently they are selling some products that are similar to other local shops e.g. plain crockery, standard kitchen goods, basic towels etc. However, their technology department offers really helpful after sales support for any devices you are having difficulty with, which is free. Their own label clothing and leather goods are worth checking out, and they also host brands like Boden who are usually only online. In summary, they sell a wide range of household items, furniture, fabrics, electrical appliances, makeup, glasses, jewellery, clothing and accessories. The sales staff are great. The Westgate needs taxi access - impossible to get a microwave home on foot or on a bike, and not all central city dwellers drive.

Great, as you might expect from John Lewis. It may be smaller than some JL stores, but it's perfectly formed and a joy to shop in all departments. I was very happy to find that lighting (one of JL strengths) is sizeable and offers a wide selection. Womenswear is also very strong, really good edit. I bought from homewares and kids too; found what I came for. I think overall, the experience in Oxford is better than in some bigger JL stores as it's beautifully decorated, feels more upmarket and the layout is really well thought out. Great addition to Oxford High Street!

Best department store in Oxford! It is much smaller than the one on Oxford Street, London. But it has got almost everything you need. You can still walk around, or even try on your clothes at 7.50 pm, without any pressure from the staff. It is a little bit understaffed, to be honest. But you do get what you need. Whenever you ask anyone, they will be happy to help you out. It just opened up a new world in Oxford!

I like John Lewis shops because they avoid selling tat. This JL is no different. However, there's also very little in this store when you come right down to it. It's not really packed with merchandise to sell. Granted this shop is very new and management is probably trying to gauge the sort of product that sells well. However, I think it's a shop that will try to sell you more service than merchandise because the retail environment is extremely competitive today with online shopping syphoning off customers. Hopefully, the new JL at Westgate will find its footing, put in another till area and add more lines of products and simply just more merchandise. Here's hoping they find the right mix between online and shop floor selling.

There is a café area on the ground floor while on the top floor you can enjoy lunch or coffee with great view over the mall. The top floor restaurant is family friendly with food option for kids like kids menu ang juices.

Speaking to the John Lewis partners at the opening, the departments were chosen considering the shops already well established in Oxford. It's John Lewis, so you know what you're getting. It's party of the new Westgate shopping center, so the shop is in good condition. If you're collecting large items, the collection point is in the underground car park. At busy times it's sometimes easier to park in the open air car park by the ice rink.
