One of those shops where if you could, you would just buy everything. This is a super little shop off the beaten track in Oxford. It’s the kind of place where you’d go for that thingymabob that you can’t quite describe but know it exists. It’s all beautifully curated. Check it out for - garden equipment/hand tools, general household utility items, kitchen knives and much more!

My absolute favourite find on a short break in Oxford, so full of beautiful and varied useful things, many of which took me back to time with my grandparents and various high quality objects of everyday use. Found a wonderful carbon steel knife that is SO sharp. Oh, and prices are remarkably reasonable. Will be back anytime I am in Oxford.

This is one of those places that you go in and buy up half the shop - things that you never knew you needed before you went in. Beware - you may spend a fortune! But things I have bought here have been some of the most used and useful objects in our house. It's a wonderful quirky, interesting place - of which there are far too few in the world.

Only recently ordered online but am thrilled with their products & my new find. Great eco packaging too. I love almost every piece of homeware they sell. The only one stop household shop you need ever know! Old school simplicity & style.

Fantastic Shop! If you want to buy a household hardware (wide range) item of highest quality and design principles - this is THE place; the best of the best from around the world -- perfect place to buy something to give pleasure in use/ownership/aesthetic/that sence of quality in manufacture/history/proportion/materials..
Struggling to find a gift for someone special?
You'll only regret will be not to have visited sooner.

A very interesting shop, mostly selling Nordic and Japanese homeware. Every time you visit there is something interesting to see. Reindeer rugs, hand painted clocks, cast iron cookware, cedar boxes or scissors for cutting carbon fibre sheet. It's not cheap but everything has a feeling of being hand picked quality.

Quality items that will last a lifetime of use, carefully curated in a very aesthetically pleasing way. Love this shop

I buy stuff from here all the time. It’s good to drop into just to browse if you happen to be in Oxford; but they are a good source of practical tools that are otherwise hard to come by.

A great store where you can get top quality tools. I bought here a pan and truly recommend it!

A brilliant place, a gallery of exquisite objects, from humble pencil sharpeners to kitchenware and kayaks, for those who love to hold, use, and look at beautiful design. Love it. I spend far too much money there! (their gift cards are a great birthday present).

Excellent shop, but regularly out of stock for online purchases. Every gift I have planned to buy for the last year at Christmas and now for a birthday has been unavailable - mostly Japanese tools so I guess the supplies are inconsistent.

Simply one of the most interesting and enjoyable stores I’ve ever been in. And endless variety of nostalgic quality items that are both practical and well-made. You will find a solution to your kitchen garden or garage problem and a gift for just about anybody!

If I could pack this entire shop in my bag and bring it home, I'd be a happy man. Every item, on every surface, shelf, cabinet, nook and cranny is a work of art, proving that the aesthetic of the Arts & Crafts movement is not dead. Brilliant place.

What an amazing shop. The stuff they sell is all handmade old school things. Both nostalgic, but also very good quality. The way things should be made. They have a great online store too.

Great shop online and in person, have ordered items before with no issue but had a problem with an online gift code on Christmas day, sent an email not expecting a reply for a few days but got one a few hours later and the issue was resolved, great customer service!

Eclectic Oxford institiution, with wildly varying prices for thoughtfully chosen, well made random items of stock, ranging from moustache balsam to a handcrafted boat!

Utterly beautiful shop - Finnish tar soap, Irish linen towels, Austrian enamelled kitchen implements, Japanese pots, stationery...an eclectic array of high-quality merchandise!

The person who runs this shop clearly has marvellous taste. I adore the selection of tools avaliable and beautiful handmade japanese items. I will spend a lot here.

The best shop in Oxford. Recommend the scrims (I have loads, they're so useful), the brushes, the stationary, the tin openers, the toys and definitely the canoe, which I haven't bought, but it's so beautiful.

Found a great selection of Whittling tools. Alex is really happy to discuss their use and reccommend suitable knife for a novice.

This is a fantastic little shop, you will find objects of use for the kitchen, bathroom, garden and more. This is premium end for sure but you may find yourself a bargan.

Cool shop with loads of interesting things to buy. Usually good quality and not too expensive. A good place to find a slightly unusual gift.

Fantastic quirky shop with stock displayed as if it were in a museum.....but containing useful stuff as the name implies. The staff kindly allowed me to take a few photos for personal interest too 🙂

Handpicked items - ranging from traditional English pottery to Japanese handmade candles. Simply amazing!
