R. J.Recipient of a gift voucher recently, i found that the details wouldn't work online. By the time i tried again, the speaker price had risen by £51. On phoning the store, Jay was fantastic. Honoured the original £299 price, sorted the gift voucher and split the difference on next day delivery. He also gave me great advice on my final choice.A lesson in superb customer service. I wouldn't entertain using anywhere else for my HiFi needs. Well done Richer Sounds.

I believe I've dealt with 3 people from Richer Sounds now, and each time they remind me why I don't shop in Cu**ys any more. They are knowledgable, professional, polite, non-pushy and simply couldn't be any better at their jobs.
The price was excellent as well. It was the best deal around, including oonline. We got an Online price, with in-store service. That's the dream right?!

M. A. W.Our experience of Richer Sounds was a really positive one. The products are of exceptional quality and the staff are knowledgeable with a friendly, helpful and efficient manner. Incredibly in-the-know, apropos to everything in the shop, they easily and expertly answered all questions put to them without feeling any pressure to buy. To be honest, ALL the staff there are friendly, spot-on with their know-how and really helpful. They will happily give you advice on all their products, and offer you a price match (mostly though, they easily rival other companies on pricing effectively with a well thought competitive approach). The equipment they stock is of the highest quality and spec, you'll find brands in there that are not in other tech stores, but also the one's we love the most too, such as; Bose. Great returns system in place, giving buyer peace of mind - which is always something I require, especially buying tech. The shop is easy to navigate, with a sound room to the left hand side. This has a great set up, giving the buyer a great deal of ideas on how to build their own sound system/surround at home/events etc. They cater for all range of budgets too, from exiguous to £££'s! Well recommended and well worth a look.

Having been a Richer Sounds customer for many years, I was already accustomed to the high standards and knowledge the team provide in home cinema. Obviously Covid-19 and lockdown restrictions has affected the retail industry in a major way but from my experience with the Plymouth store, the quality in service never dropped.
From conversations over the phone to the appointments in-store, Jamie was always polite, very knowledgeable and made my shopping experience and purchase very enjoyable.

T.I must stop writing good reviews for Richer Sounds but everytime I buy from them I find their level of customer service quite exceptional.I recently bought a JBL Flip 4 Bluetooth speaker to pair with my Sony Hi res player.I couldn't get them to pair, so phoned what I thought would be their Plymouth store,but at just gone 1800 hours I got Joe in telesales. Despite the late hour he talked me through the process without,I assume,the two products in front of him.As is always the case with RS staff he was knowledgeable,cheerful and friendly.In no time at all I was up and running.You buy with confidence from RS.

At a very busy time around Christmas, they sorted out a problem with two items of equip.
They did this with a smile and free lollipops, and a turn around time of 3 weeks.

K. J.I have to say, I always shop at Richer Sounds. I am a massive tech lover, especially when it comes to hi-if and extraordinary sound. I have already purchased my entire home setup from this store, with great pleasure I might add. On this occasion I was helping my Dad update his 35 year old sound system. We booked in to use the demo room at 10am to test out various amps and speakers etc. Paul (The Manager) greeted us with a friendly welcome and a smile, and got us comfortable in the demo room. There was pleasant conversation, technical talks and then we got down to business. Any body who has knowledge of sound reproduction then they know how personal and subjective it can be. Safe to say we spent the next 2 hours testing the same 4 or 5 music tracks over various different setups. During this whole time we were incredibly well accommodated for and well looked after, including teas, coffees, great conversation and solid advice on which directions to take. I would just like to emphasise, this was a 2+ hour sale!!! It may sound fussy but when purchasing a sound setup of high standard, it has to be right for you. Paul knew that this was the case and was a legend throughout. He was even kind enough to setup a BluRay player for us to test film sound. I have never experienced customer service as good as this. EVER!! I can say whole heartedly that I have always shopped at Richer Sounds for my tech. And I encourage everyone else to do the same. :) Absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!

This is one of the last few specialised shops where the staff really know what they are talking about.
Theu have a relatively limited range in the shop, compared with mega stores - but the big retailers don't typically stock this kind of specialised gear at all so that balances out.
As with everything else these days, the Internet offers wider choice - but not the good advice and service.

J. E.I have been a customer of Richer Sounds, Plymouth for a good number of years now and I have always received excellent service. My most recent visit continued that experience. My wife and I visited to get advice on the installation of a new surround sound system and 4K TV in our new build house. Garrett took a great deal of personal care and interest in our requirements and delivered the highest standards of customer care and advice, taking 90minutes to demonstrate various sound systems and illustrate the merits of Dolby Atmos 5.1.2. On our fist visit we came away with some ideas and proceeded to do further online research. Everything we read confirmed Garrett's views and so we telephoned and reserved our Onkyo Dolby Atmos Surround Sound receiver prior to visiting the branch to make payment. On that visit we spent another hour talking with Garrett about the various TV screens available. Again, we left, armed with enough current product information to be able to undertake further research and review. After several days of reading, comparing and considering purchases of up to £2000, we finally settled on a 55" LG screen, not least because of the superb WebOS. Again, a telephone call to the branch reserved the last one they had in stock and then we visited today to make payment. As we had requested, Garrett had the set ready in the in-store demo room and proceeded to demonstrate the TV even though we had already decided on that model.
Having spent a lifetime in customer facing roles at senior levels, I cannot overstate the quality care and customer service we experienced in the Plymouth branch of Richer Sounds. It was of the highest calibre. Thank you Garrett - I hope this review results in the pat on the back you richly deserve.
