Went to have a rummage around with the sales on, quite alot of good items for good prices! Went to have a quick look at the TV see what was new and about? After what was probably my worse ever customer service experience at Boots, I took my custom to John Lewis instead (on a hunt for a new perfume). Nicole (Chanel consultant) was honestly incredible - she knew everything about every perfume and helped me choose the perfect anniversary gift from my boyfriend. If it wasn’t for her help I’d have played it safe and gone for one I’d had before, but with her help have come away with a new fragrance and very very happy 😊 For all your Chanel needs - go to John Lewis and speak to Nicole A M A Z I N G 🥰🤩

First time of shopping in store since the start of lockdown! No coffee shop outside! Our meeting point. Disappointed with lots of the clothes departments. The clothes were hung with creases and folds in them. Was not very inviting to look at. Lovely staff .Lovely lunch!

I really must commend Caroline the lovely blonde lady working on Sunday 9th Jan in the ground floor Cafe. I was ordering a tea and scone and offered my "my John Lewis card" she didn't miss the opportunity to say have you got the app, you may have a voucher. I said I would get it and try to do so before paying, I fumbled with getting the app and she immediately offered to help guiding me over to a table and talking me through downloading the app, chatting all the time pointing out the benefits. I didn't have a voucher this time but it didn't matter I still had my tea and scone, mightily impressed by her friendly attitude going over and above to help - she deserves some recognition. Caroline is a major asset to the Cafe. A real star, she made my short shopping break very enjoyable and I shall look forward to checking my app for rewards etc

Visited this store ( Southampton) for refreshments in their "place to eat " its one of the best ones I've been to, swift pleasent service no uncleared tables, unlike my visit to the Leeds store some weeks ago. Southampton yes a 5 Leeds just about 3 ! Any reply from John Lewis management?

I have to say that my idea of what the John Lewis experience is, is beginning to diminish ...I feel that John Lewis's professionalism is no where near as good as it used to be..dirty tables full of crockery greeted us in the Place to Eat, on the shop floor staff members arguing in full site of customers. Also it's so hard to determine who is a staff member these days as everyone wears their own clothes ...so when you try to find help it's not easy to identify staff from customers.

Her service is first-class yet very down to earth and fun to talk to, and she made my gifting plans extra special with a few fairy touches. Thank you again for a wonderful experience Persia! 2. Gill Davis at the Aveda counter helped me out with some Origins products and I had a great time exchanging beauty secrets with her. She also treated me to a small bottle of aromatic multipurpose oil from Aveda that smells soooo relaxing. Gill is such a delightful person that I had to give 5 stars with an extra one. Thank you Gill!

A huge multi-floor department store with everything you could wish for for your home. Selling all the high quality items that you would expect from John Lewis, including clothing, home decorations, kitchenware and furniture.

Large, bright, modern department store in the centre of Southampton. If you like the John Lewis brand, you will love this store. It feels as though it stocks everything and quality is high, but it also feels expensive. Well trained, friendly and helpful staff. The quality of the hot food was poor when I had fish and chips there recently, so I won't be eating there again. It might be better when you eat there, but the restaurant has lost my custom now.

It's absolutely HUGE! There's usually a good amount of people but due to the sheer size of it, there's never a queue. It's not my first choice of places to go, but due to its sheer size, it's a good bet that you'll find something good. Very expensive, but also you'll almost definitely find something there with its 3 enormous floors.

The shop itself is and has outstanding quality but their restaurant is truly shocking given the location on top floor overlooking the docks. The selection of foods was worse than a garage forecourt. Ordered the most eatable sandwich they had. Ham and cheese. It arrived burnt bread cheese and ham stone cold. Very disappointed with a shop of this quality and background for customer service. Huge lost that would be bring so many more customers into the shop if this was at the same standards as the rest of the shop values.

Today we went into John Lewis in Southampton and ordered a new microwave for my mum - the lovely chap in the department (had a 15 month old and had had his vaccine) made us feel very welcome - we tried in store - we wanted easy to use buttons, easy to open door, a light bright enough to see inside and one easy to use - my mum is disabled and partly sighted and it was her first trip in store since Covid. Wonderful customer service - smiling eyes, I am sure a smile under the mask and reassurance - he helped us order online, explained about delivery and was a pleasure to have a conversation with. Thank you for reminding us the value on inperson shopping, personal service and for allowing the customer to try to see if it works for them!

Been shopping here since WestQuay opened in 2000. The top floor hosts a fantastic canteen style restaurant, with plenty of seating, and always a nice vibe. You can find anything and everything in this huge JL, and whether you're on a budget or wanted to splash a bit, I've always found there to be options. Best time to go is mid-week 💯

We were greeted by a lady with hand sanitiser, then within 5 mins we were offered help which we accepted. This assistant managed to find lots of options for us both. We were then able to try our dresses on, ask for a jacket to be brought in etc. Wonderful service and a positive experience. I came away with 2 gorgeous well made dresses for a wedding and a bigger party later when restrictions allow. (Its neighbour m&s had nothing in to compare and no person monitoring the sanitiser.) John Lewis is where I will always go now!

For someone who does not like shopping I have to say I quite like the John Lewis Experience. Staff are always on hand to offer help and advice. The store is always clean and tidy what ever the foot flow. If there is the same product genuinely on sale else where they will price match. It seems that nothing is too much trouble. We shopped in your Southampton store on Thursday 3rd Dec, from entering your store your shop floor partners were brilliant. In the baby pram section, the lady was so very friendly and helpful, taking time to speak to my grandson. At the pay desk next to the baby section the lady at the till, waved and interacted with our baby. BUT on your main floor behind the Christmas section we encountered the most helpful man, I'm sorry we did not get his name, he was wearing a bowler hat and dressed very smart. He spent time with baby George (who is disabled) and then gave George a Buster dog, a truly lovely act. I had not intended to shop but my daughter offered to take me out to cheer me out, I have been struggling in the past couple of weeks, and the experience within your store has helped me feel better. Thank you.

We really appreciate that staff like Helen take proper time to explain and listen to what a customer is saying and any queries they have. However some younger staff around the different departments do need some extra customer care/service training, they need to understand the John Lewis standards.

First time I have ever been to the John Lewis Expresso bar and it was honestly lovely. Tanya who served me was very smiley and helpful and had fantastic customer service skills. I was very impressed by the cream tea being only £5.50 as you get a perfectly made coffee and a massive plain/fruit scone with fresh cream and a cute little pot of strawberry/raspberry jam. Lots of seating and very clean! Would defiantly recommend!

My wife and I went to John Lewis to get her a new selection of clothes, we initially walked around not spotting anything might suit her but then we happened upon the Personal Shopper/stylist service. We were helped by Louise, who was brilliant. She helped my wife understand her body-shape and how to tailor the clothes to flatter her. At no time was she pushy, she picked a number of brands from the budget to the not-so-budget. We were offered refreshments whilst we waited. In the end she found some great items that we totally missed in the store. I'm sure Louise managed to find the best value items in the Boden range, of which we purchased 10. I cannot praise Louise enough, hence this glowing review. I hope that that john lewis values their staff with a good bonus this year, they deserve it. We will use the service again!

This was a big John Lewis & they had a good selection of items. The technology department had so much cool stuff (I love tech & gadgets etc.) but I have been told that other stores have more headphones on display then they did here. As it's been so hot recently we picked up a fan & looked at the West Elm furniture also. They even had a cafe right at the top which is always useful. Great store & friendly/helpful members of staff.

Always good service here, and the staff can generally get you answers the most big stores can't with the systems access they have. Bit of a shame last time we were looking to buy a TV, there seems to be online only stock now, so some of the questions couldn't be answered, and we couldn't look at the model we were after. Generally way better than other stores though, so still first choice, and price matching with the 5 year guarantee is great.

Always a special treat going into this store as its always laid out in quite a beautiful and clear display of the goods on sale. Every time I go into the store, I feel so light headed from the fumes of the many brands of odours and the bright, bright lights. However it is a small price to pay due to as soon as your senses have balanced out, staff are friendly and welcoming. The store itself is huge spanning across multiple floors. Including a Waitrose, Western Union and it’s normal department store is really worth the look. A few things bought from here have been faulty and even though these have been opened, there had been no problem getting a replacement (non electrical items) As what is expected!

Can not belive how patronizeing and rude the tv sales rep was. We asked for a specific lg make and model. Just over £800 ,Price range .and asked for a demo on such. Instead he gave a demo on a £3000 ..tv stating all features were the same .When we pointed out that was obviously not the case he became curt and very patronizing. When we asked if they had the same model as we saw in currys that went down like a lead ballon. Then told us they were sold out of the model we wanted .Only to come back as we were leaving and say they did have one. Happy with their level of service?, No .! Very dissapointed with customer service

Pretty large store with a bit of everything! Assistance is great and readily available. Turns out a bit more expensive (Lewis tax) than other place but do sometimes have good deals to compensate! You do get extended warranty on electronics which is really good! Overall a good experience.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Great for buying expensive items like tech or kitchen stuff because they have a price guarantee and a really good range. They have pretty much everything here and their items are normally really good quality. They also have a little Waitrose that sells a good range of foods, from groceries to bakery and lunch foods.

This was my first visit to John Lewis in Southampton since the changes following lockdown. The entrance was clear and well signed with hand sanitizing station along with meet and greet. I wanted to look at the carpet department, and was so impressed. Brett, was a charming assistant who was extremely helpful and polite. He explained the process when the estimater would arrive. For a first post lockdown shopping experience, Brett made all the difference, a credit to John Lewis. Would be happy to return.

It's a nice place to shop for pretty much everything but when you go to menswear section, and need help finding the right size nobody is around to ask or help even if you spot them they chose to ignore or busy doing other stuff, I've personally experienced this 2 week's ago. Didn't personally like the service provided by staff at men's section and I think they need to work on that, like other stores even though you don't need them but they still come to you if any help needed. So I would personally ask the floor manager to tell there staff to approach if they see someone looking for anything to buy and assist them if need be. Thank you

The reason for me being there was because I had bought fit bits for both me and the good lady. As we are at an age that doesn't get much exercise it seemed a good idea. I did however have to buy another phone as you can't put 2 fit bits on 1 phone. The Salesman there was 'Absolutely Brilliant". He showed me and helped to connect all items together. In some strange way he has helped us to get more mobile than we have been for quite a while. Given us a new lease of life you could say. THANK YOU John Lewis.

This was my first post COVID 19 lockdown visit to this store and I was somewhat apprehensive as my shopping experience consisted of people ignoring social distancing and not wearing face masks or using them incorrectly. However, I actually ended up browsing and smiling under my face mask, for the first time in 6 plus months. There were marshalls at both entrance and exit, hand sanitizer everywhere, uncluttered displays and aisles and everyone wearing a mask. I went to the top floor café for breakfast, again, polite and helpful partners taking customer contact details at the entrance. I was able to use my COVID 19 app to sign in instead. I was shown to a vacant table with a paper menu and after a short wait, another partner came and took my order and brought my coffee and pain au chocolat. I then followed the one way system to the till and paid by card whilst another partner cleaned the table where I had been sitting. Hand sanitizer on the way out , job done! Would be more than happy to pay a return visit!

I am a big fan of John Lewis. Love all their furniture and style. Purchase a few things from here often. Would be 5 stars if however there was as much focus on the menswear as the women get. Its the same in most shops however, I'm not someone who shops for clothes often (typical man some may say) but when I do I expect the cloths on the manikins to be near or in the region to make finding it easier and also an extra mirror or two would be nice.

The place is alright, though the technology section is missing new tech. For example, the only Sony Bluetooth speakers they have are from 2 years ago, and their selection isn't as great as you'd expect from this large department store. However, I managed to find everything else that I wanted, except for the exact Bluetooth speaker that I wanted.

Enjoyed an interesting styling session with a group of ladies from my Probus club. Watched as some of our members were colour coded to find best colours to wear to suit their skin tones. We were shown examples of fashion in those colours. Some of which I loved. Very helpful stylists. As we were sitting on comfortable padded benches but no backrests, some of our members found it uncomfortable for our backs, after saying that, a couple of ladies really had to have chairs,which they kindly brought for them. Bought a vacuum cleaner today It had been recommended by friends so it was as good as sold to us before we got to John Lewis Which is just as well because the lady who we had to search for to help us didn’t have a clue about the product. She couldn’t turn it on, didn’t know what attachments it came with and was so surprised when we revealed to her that it was bagless. Then she rushed off half way through as she said she had to do something else! Got to the till and the sales lady didn’t know how to serve us and had to get help from a man who did know. I know everyone has to start somewhere but they shouldn’t be left on their own whilst learning. I felt sorry for her and her awkwardness.

There are lifts and escalators so wheelchairs and pushchairs will have no problem accessing all parts of this spacious store.

Some products in this shop are very over priced and not worth the money and you can buy that product cheaper somewhere else. But on the rare occasion where Mark's and Spencers let me down, John Lewis is always there to pick up problem. I purchased a pillow last week which they had plenty of choice (Which didn't expect anything less). Some of the pillows are overpriced which I came to believe the filling must be made from the feathers of a dodo to be £100 for 1 pillow! I found a extra firm pillow for £10 which is very good quality and good night's sleep.

The first my experience with John Lewis began when I moved to Soton and since than was shopping only there. Customer service are always helpful and polite. JL offers for their customers free cake & coffee - so, it’s nice treat. Every time we are in JL, we grab cup of coffee and a slice of cake as so nice to see that there are option for people with gluten and lactose intolerances. If items we buy large, they offer delivery instead. There you can find anything: for home, for children, beauty etc. If you are looking for the best customer service, for the best quality - JL is a right place to shop.
