We were referred to Nick through a friend to help us with a relatively small project. Nick was very attentive and always available with great attention to detail. He also helped us find a top builder who completed the project to a great standard. He also helped us get a good price and made sure all bases were covered prior to the work tracking place. It took some time to find an architect that showed enthusiasm to turn our rundown 1930’s semi-detached house into beautiful light filled family home. Nick and Vicky came up with crucial design elements that we never would have thought of. Their detailed drawings made the Council Planning, Party Wall Conveyancing, and build a straightforward process (a complete change of room layout including a residential extension and loft conversion). We have recommended AR-DE to our friends and family. They are a great team to work with.

I've worked with Nick and Vicki on my development of block of 3 flats. They are a talented couple. I've worked with them for close to 2 years now and I can't find any fault with them and am totally impressed with their level of service. Nick dealt with planning, design and managed the project of this project. What stood out for me was that I hardly had to chase him for anything, as he is very proactive and very efficient. Another thing worth mentioning (as not every architect has this skill) is that he has also exceptional people skills, and is able to handle difficult people and situations effectively and diplomatically. Most importantly, I know he has my back at all times, and is always thinking of my best interest as his client. I am not a technical person, so it is vital to have someone competent, efficient and trustworthy on my team, and I'm very glad to be working with them and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Our project consisted of designing a new, 10sqm terrace area outside our 1st floor flat, on top of our downstairs neighbours flat roof. The project was complicated by a number of factors, including satisfying neighbours, presenting a case to the local council and maximising our amenity / space. Holloway and Holloway have given us a new fresh way of living in the Victorian house that we have lived in for 18 years, we are thrilled with the use of light, modern contemporary design and open flowing space bringing the outside into the inside all year long. The Attention to detail and customer first principals were always evident whilst working with Nick and Vicky, even down to a last-minute addition of a hand shower for our dog’s paws when she comes in muddy in the winter months. Being in a conservation area, Holloway and Holloway stepped in when a previous attempt to gain planning permission had failed. Holloway and Holloway worked hard to make sure the design was sympathetic to the conservation restrictions but pushed the boundaries to make sure we realised the modern style we were looking for. Once started, it took 18 months to complete the final build and I am sure we would not have reached this successfully without the professional intervention of Holloway and Holloway who worked closely with our builder, our neighbours and the local planning authority. They were with us each step of the way, keeping us informed, offering solutions to planning objections, financial constraints, alternative materials, interior finishing, even providing a contract of works with the builder to ensure the smooth delivery of the construction period. Holloway and Holloway have transformed the small kitchen and breakfast room of our dark Victorian property into a smart, bright and modern open living space creating the perfect balance between the 19th and 21st Century architecture. It was important to us, as the client, that we developed a space full of light designed for us to live with all the functional areas required for modern day living, a large kitchen dining area with a central island, a utility room, downstairs lavatory, underfloor heating, a dining area and seating area for socialising with friends. Alongside this we wanted to maximise the light and give us the feel that the house was a living environment being a seamless extension of our garden.
