We appointed mors+harte architects to improve the natural light entering our home.and its connection to the rear garden. James and Caroline proposed clever ideas to make our new living areas unique and practical for the way we live. They designed everything including the design of my kitchen. I have a fantastic open plan kitchen, living, dining room that connects to the garden by a raised patio area. James and Caroline proposed steel doors to the rear, which allow a lot of natural light in, whilst also complementing the traditional style of the existing house. Our property is in Conservation area therefore it was important to us to ensure we appointed an architect with experience and a good track record with the council. Our application was approved first time with no issues. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and easy to talk to. I would certainly recommend this practice to anyone needing an Architect for their project.

A great Architectural service, Caroline and James were fantastic to deal with, this included the design concept, planning, tendering of the building contractors, site meetings and the project management of the construction of our home. One of the requirements that we had when we engaged with Mors + Harte was that our home was to be designed in keeping with the green belt area that we live in and needed to fit into the environment tastefully, which I believe they achieved very successfully. They took the time to consult with us our requirements as a family and were able to interpret our ideas along with their knowledge and creativity and transfer it to paper which made it a reality for us. This included the interior and lighting design, exterior and interior of the cottage extension which brought life back into our home. Restoring and refurbishing the old features and introducing the new modern extension while always making sure the quality of work was executed to its best and no short cuts taken. We are so happy in our house, they are so approachable, we couldn’t recommended these architects highly enough.

We contacted Mors + Harte architects last summer to design our kitchen extension in Aldersbrook Conservation Area, and I knew as soon as I met with Caroline that I wanted to work with her and James on our build. They have made, what could potentially be a very stressful process, so easy for us and the concept design was brilliant. Caroline listened to exactly what we wanted and designed a beautiful kitchen extension which was both functional and architecturally interesting. It wasn't just going to be a box added onto the end of our house, without any character! They also had lots of interesting and creative ideas about how to best use the space in our loft as we are not allowed to build a dormer because of conservation restrictions. Our first set of plans were refused (our fault for insisting on something that we knew would be tricky) but Caroline's meticulous approach in responding to the feedback from the caseworker meant that we now have planning permission approved and are almost ready to start the build. Living in a conservation area, there are lots of restrictions on what we can do, and Caroline was not only well informed regarding restrictions in the area, but also creative and realistic with our designs so that we could have everything we needed and wanted without having any issues with buildings regulations and planning. Caroline and James are personable, professional, and I fully recommend them. They have exceeded my expectations, and have done a brilliant job.

We have appointed James and Caroline as our Architects for a number of changes to our home in Rochdale. Our home is in Green Belt and is over 200 years old and so we needed a team that would understand the challenges we faced. The Concept Design that they produced took our ideas and added a fantastic contemporary angle to the overall project and we are delighted with what they have produced. We are currently working with them to get the project through the Planning process and again they have been helpful and imaginative in that stage of the project. As we move into the detailed design phase, we look forward to working with them to guide the project through construction and Building Control. We would recommend Mors+Harte to anyone who is looking for a contemporary design that is sympathetic to the existing building.

We have been working with Caroline from Mors+Harte Architects to fully renovate an old Post Office into out home. I found Caroline brilliant to deal with and we are still working on the refurbishment so she's a great sounding board also. I loved the innovative plans down to the lighting design that they have created and it really helps us to envisage our home. Also every design idea we had was taken on board. As we are doing alot of the work ourselves it will be a long road but having the clear design plans in place helps us to see a light at the end of the tunnel. It also means that I have been able to start expanding on the interior design as the plans have given me a very clear outline of our home. We look forward to finishing the project and having them over to celebrate with us

Mors+Harte Architects were a great team to work with and faultless throughout the design. They took my ideas and vision and designed an open plan living space, which has exceeded my expectations. They managed to blend some of the original 1960s features of the house together with contemporary design. James and Caroline met with me several times to listen to and understand my requirements, making some great suggestions that were creative yet practical. With a tight budget they worked closely with me to revise the design until it was exactly how I wanted and achievable financially. My project hit a snag, as my builder was unable to finish the initial project. However, Mors+Harte Architects were really helpful in rethinking the design and revising my plan to meet the changing requirements. They were also able to source and recommend other building contractors to finish the project. Construction finished on schedule and I moved into my house just in time to get settled before I had my baby. Overall, Mors+Harte Architects provided clarity, reliability, imagination and control. They were a great team to work with and I could not have been more pleased with the end result.

Caroline designed our kitchen extension in Forest Gate. We had already had one bad experience with another architect, and although had a rough idea of what we wanted, Caroline added real value in pointing out ways to maximise space, rejig the layout, as well as taking on our ideas and ambitions to give it wow factor. She designed and submitted to Newham council, liaised with them and put together a building materials plan. They were reasonable value compared to others we are delighted with the results. Thanks.

Caroline and James met with us to talk through the whole process, get a sense of what we were looking for in our new space and gauge our design preferences.
