Even if you think you know London very well; the New London Architecture is the right place to come to realise you don’t know anything about the best city in the world. London keeps changing on a regular basis and it is difficult to keep track what is happening and where; this is why I loved the ‘Free Model Talk’ so much as it takes you through the interactive scale model of London explaining the changing occurring in the city.

Myself and 9 others had such a great experience at the New London Architecture New London Model exhibition! Such an interesting and accommodating experience, the interactive model was brilliant and we listened to a fantastic talk by the education officer Lettie. Fully wheelchair accessible and a great coffee shop right next door. Free talks about this impressive model every Friday at 1230. Thanks to Corrine and her team for a great day.

If you're an urban planning geek, visiting NLA feels close to experiencing nirvana. The scale model of London combined with the interactive AV presentations will give you a solid grounding in London's development and the contemporary challenges it faces. The temporary exhibitions can also be illuminating - the one in June 2018 talked about London's plan for research and medical hubs, and highlights particular areas and architecture that are featured in the plan.
I had a spare morning in London and wanted to visit the London Transport Museum, but saw online it was more suitable for children and also had an entrance charge. NLA is a great alternative for the serious student of London and the urban planning lessons we can learn from it. The cafe beside is also a nice space to sit and work or read.

Wonderful model of the London area. Smaller in scale(1:2000), but covering a larger area than the model in the City Centre, by the Guild Hall, and you get a better idea of the protected views of St Pauls.
The best way to complement a visit to this London model has to be going to the City Centre and view the larger scale model there.

Standard stop during my London trips, to watch the big model. NLA is located in the building center, near Tottenham Court Road and The British Museum. They also have changing exhibitions about construction and architecture in the city.

Amazing museum if you are into modern architecture. You can see all the major central London developments over the past 40+ years. The main attraction is a scale model of the central London area which must be at least 15m wide by 10m deep.

beautiful building with lots of interesting things going on.
currently among others they have New London Model on display, accompanied by good videos on specific topics such as transport, high rise buildings etc.
if you're interested in architecture and cit planning, you may spend half a day here without noticing :)

As a new resident of London, with an interesting in urban planning. I spent a good hour here just reading the plans for this city.
They've also got a 1:1500 scale model of London that took 14 months to build, depicting the largest London buildings and the new Crossrail line, amongst plenty of other things.
They've got a temporary exhibition on until the 18th of December called Smarter London that I really enjoyed. You can enter Google Earth as a pigeon and fly around (it has to be tried, I can't explain it) a map showing all the bombs that dropped on London on the first day of the Blitz, a 3D map of all the different tube lines showing the depths and how close they are, amongst plenty of other little bits.
Worth a look if you are in the area.

The big 3D model of London is amazing and they always have a good exhibition of some sort to look at as well. A good place for Londoners to know what's being built in their city.

I visited for an event in the evening. It is an amazing space for public meetings. It has good catering. The staff are helpful. The building and displays are remarkable.

The London Model is just great and they have free talks about it so if you have any question you should come to one of their talks - normally on Fridays.

My 10 year old girl actually found it really interesting. She is quite artistic and I think wants to get into architecture/interior design.
