We found Adam through our local area's Facebook page, where he had been highly recommended. We reached out to Adam, and are so glad we did. We are planning a single storey extension to the side of our property, which is something neither of us have done before and was somewhat daunting. Adam has made the whole process so relaxed and enjoyable. We really like the fact he really listens to what we say, really thinks about it, and comes up with innovative, thoughtful solutions. We love his attention to detail. Adam's take is about using the space involved as practically and as stylishly as possible. Adam has come up with a brilliant design, which makes the best use of existing structures as well as adding light and space through the new extension. We have just submitted our application to planning with Adam, and look forward to working with him on the next stage of our project.

Adam is designing an extension for our house at the moment. Before finding Adam I asked around my neighbours, but all of them said that their architects hadn't been very good, either because their work was not of a high quality or imaginative, or because they didn't listen. Adam is the opposite. He is easy to contact and enthusiastic. He has shown strong attention to deal and listens carefully to what we want. His design is imaginative and exactly what we asked for. I would be happy to recommend him to a friend.

We cannot express how happy we are that we found Adam at ALTER. We had 5 architects come and look at our project as we really wanted to find the right one as it is a tricky project. It is a single and two storey extension to a 170 year old cottage. We wanted a contemporary design that would both contrast and complement. There were other difficult considerations such as low ceilings and floors that step up and down plus we are just in the green belt. Adam instantly shone in comparison to the other architects. He was easy to get along with, a great listener and straight shared some good ideas. His prices were in the mid range of the quotes we received. It can be tricky picking an architect because you don't get to see the design before you hire so you need to trust they will do a good job. There was never any need to worry because he we had fun contributing towards the planning process by showing him what we liked on Pinterest and his designs were both original and beautiful. He designed a few options and so we were spoiled when choosing the final option as any of them would have been good. He thought of internal layouts that we never would of and had bold ideas for the exterior look. Once the designs were finalised, Adam did a fantastic job in supporting us through the planning application process. We were gutted when we had objections from the neighbours on either side and we panicked and thought we would have to make changes. Adam was able to provide shadow diagrams to prove the extension wouldn't affect the neighbours and he called the planning officer and explained everything to her before she made the decision. In the end it got passed first time with no changes needed and we think it was largely down to the stunning designs but also because of Adam's great interpersonal skills in dealing with the planning officer. Adam has been nothing short of fantastic and I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for an outstanding design in place of a bog standard one.

Adam has been incredible since working with us on our ground floor extention. His creativity is second to none. He is approachable and a very good listener. He came up with several designs that are all worthy of being taken forward. His use of the space we have has completely suprised us, we were not expecting to get everything and more than we asked for. I have shared the designs with builders who are in awe of them. This extension will stand out against the rest on our street and all for the right reasons. It has been a pleasure working with someone who listens and understands what you want. Adam also thinks greatly about how light can get into the house and his designs reflect the different angles to represent this. He thinks out of the box which is refreshing as our previous architect didnt. He talks through materials which we may never have thought about which then enhances our creativity. Cannot recommend Adam enough. I am truly excited to get this build underway.

Adam has created the most incredible design. The plan takes into consideration space, light and how the bulding fits into its environment. It also includes design featres that will draw the eye for example an oriel window and skylights strategically placed over the dining area or over a bed. Magically a laundry room and downstairs cloakroom have been included and yet there is still a feeling of space and flow with a sight line through the house to the garden. The design has strong green credentials including succulant roofing, wooden cladding, water saving and energy saving features. Externally it includes a wildlife haven providing a corridor from nearby geeenbelt through the adjoining gardens. I am really looking forward to starting the build.
