I took my friend, who is 87, here for lunch at the weekend. We had the BEST time !! Maria was working in the restaurant. She was so kind and patient with my friend. We sat outside in the sunshine, with a glass of wine, and ate our food and relaxed. Maria was so friendly and professional and made our afternoon really special. A big THANK YOU to her and I would definitely recommend coming here.

Had my mother's funeral wake here yesterday. I'm not local to Colchester, and the Officer's Club was one of a handful of venues that came up on a Google search. Although I'd never been to it I took a punt, and am glad I did. The location is really convenient for the crematorium, lots of parking, the Garden room was lovely and bright, the catering was perfect for our needs - simple, tasty and efficiently delivered, and there was a bar in the room too. All very easy to organise, I'd recommend it

I attended a 50th Birthday party here. It’s a great venue. Outdoor seating for the summer. Really big bar area and Dance Floor area. Car Parking facilities and Tennis courts. Plenty of bar and catering staff, so you get served, super quick.

Have attended many events at the Officers Club and have loved each visit. Beautiful venue, friendly staff and amazing food. Attended a wedding only a few weeks ago, with a disco and BBQ outside, a great great atmosphere

8 hard tennis courts (4 floodlit) outside. Well respected coach, high standard of play. There are squash courts inside. Convenient parking for town centre. Two bars and a restaurant. Value depending on your usage of course.

The negative reviews are absolute rubbish. Bar staff are friendly, attentive and constantly serve with a smile. I particularly like the bar maid with brown hair in a ponytail. She pours great pints and knows how to have a laugh. Those writing negative reviews clearly have nothing better to do with their time - what a sad little life.

Had a great evening last night with a live swing/jazz singer. Meal (beef brisket) was fab and entertainment enjoyable and all for £17pp!! Recommend highly this venue for functions and dose, not many places l8ke this left available that can offer great parking a close to town location and great facilities. Defo worth a look.

Always like the Officier's Club. I always think of it as a bit of calm and bliss right next to a very busy main road in Colchester and over looking the town. Was totally turned around as they have moved the entrance through the Abbey gates. So was thrown off at start but new entrance makes more sense.

Went here following a relative's funeral at Colchester Crematorium about 7 minutes' drive away. The staff were unobtrusive but efficient and helpful. Good range of sandwiches with generous fillings plus mini spring rolls and chilli sauce then delicious cakes. The room, at the front of the building, had sound control panels around the upper walls so it was easy to have conversation without having to strain to hear or shout to be heard - excellent when catching up with relatives not seen for a long time. Clean and spacious toilet facilities with hanging space for coats. Plenty of parking.

Great place. Good people. Snooker, Squash, plenty of Tennis. Regular rotating guest ales on tap plus multiple variety of bottled ales as well. Barstaff and chef both great also. Food is delicious.

Had a yearly club meal at said venue it's the 3rd year on the bounce we have returned and found the Sevice good the Management team willing to advise on our menu initially and wiling to do a set price for what we wanted within our price range. The bar staff and Sevice staff were very polite pleasant and willing to help anything asked all in all could not fault the Venue Staff facilities. Rated by me 10.5/10

Open Mic Evening We'll run event in comfortable surroundings with free parking. Bar was open and the event was well attended. The Officers Club is a lovely modern place with good facilities, particularly if you enjoy a game of tennis.
