Got my 2 Netherlands Rabbits from here, Daisy x Christian ❤️🐰🐰❤️😊the animals are very well looked after, the staff are very caring and so helpful and nice, just brilliant, I would definitely go again and I’d always adopt from the RSPCA a great place.
When I got Netherland ‘Daisy (shes the one in the first photo) I bonded her with my other Rabbit Tulip, But Tulip passed away when he was 10yrs old…..Daisy then looked so lonely so I decided to get her a friend, so I decided to go back to Doncaster a few months ago to get Daisy another HUS-BUN 😁which is another Netherland called Christian who is now 14 months old (he’s the Grey/White Rabbit) I Bonded them both in 8 days and now they are both so very Happy Hoppy together ! Love them so much ❤️🐰🐰❤️💞BOOTIFUL BUNNYS💞
Great Place RSPCA.

I encountered multiple issues while adopting two cats from RSPCA Doncaster:
- The cats were listed as two males but are one male and one female.
- I ended up with three different dates of birth for the cats (who are siblings).
- On the first phone call I was told their last vet appointment was nearly a month ago and they would need to see the adoption centre’s vet again before being adopted. Then, on the call to give me a visit/collection date, the staff member was confused when I asked about this - saying they didn’t need to visit the vet again (and hadn’t visited since my last phone call).
- I was informed that the cats’ runny eyes are them just requiring help grooming. I asked if they were still fully insurable and it was indicated that I would be able to get them fully insured. They gave four weeks free health insurance, which I thought would cover all health issues. I was told they were fully vaccinated so I wouldn’t have to worry about getting them to the vets for vaccinations any time soon. After getting them home, when sitting in a quiet room, it was clear both had blocked/runny noses and needed taking to a vet. Since then, they have had countless visits to the vets. They have been on two types of eye drops, metacam, probiotics, an injection of antibiotics and are now on antibiotic tablets and ocryl. And have had tests for for FIV and FeLV. I understand that adoption centres cannot detect all problems but it is very clear that these cats were unwell before I adopted them (even though I was told that they had had no signs of cat flue flareups since being at the adoption centre). Since they were ill before I got them, nothing has been covered by insurance. Vet bills have cost a lot! And the cats are still unwell, and so this cost is only going upwards. (I am looking after them alone and having to take time off work to get them to expensive vets appointments.) The vet was also surprised to learn that the adoption centre doesn’t test cats for FIV and FeLV (fortunately the test my vet did came back negative).
I am a first time pet owner and adopted from RSPCA as I trusted their knowledge/experience that I would have two healthy happy cats that wouldn’t cost me lots in vets bills (as I would have insurance covering all future problems).
I have two adorable happy (but poorly) cats (Amelia (formally Salem) has become super confident and is currently curled up on my lap; Marco (formally Loki) is looking jealously at Amelia and hates the vets so gets worried every time I put my shoes on).
I don’t want to put others off adopting pets (hence me not putting a lower star rating) - the pets at the adoption centre need a safe home, so please give them one! But please be wary, ask to check through all documentation and talk to a vet first if there are any signs of health issues (don’t be pushed to take a pet asap)!
Please improve the adoption centre so that others do not get put off adopting!

We went in to check allergies for my partner as he is allergic to cats, so to find the right one it took some navigation. The rspca were so helpful. We found a cat we liked, we had a meeting with her and they let us take her blanket home to see how he would be overnight.. The next day we picked her up and she is loving life! (well.. I think she is!) We picked out some new things for her at the Rspca shop for great prices. I would highly recommend going here if you are looking to rescue, looking for new or donated belongings for your pet or even to donate 👌

Absolutely fantastic experience for me, first adoption and it was a great success. The staff are all dedicated to the animals they care for, and are excellent with giving advice. I am a first time dog owner and I am thrilled to bits with Kai Thanks to all the staff at the RSPCA.

Me and my new fur baby whiskey thank these brilliant people.
Edit: 2 years 9 months in, me an Whiskey are still going strong. We moved near to London pre-pandemic and he has a nice garden and area as his domain. He's a silly boy and i couldn't have survived lockdown without him! Thanks guys :)

I was so impressed with the whole process of adopting a cat.
Communication with this branch was excellent.
We picked up the cat we chose and were absolutely amazed with the fantastic team at Bawtry reception and with young Georgia who volunteers there and took us to meet the cat. We were equally amazed with the cleanliness of the cats' dormitory.
Back to reception to sort out the paperwork - we cannot emphasise enough the care, the quality & the professionalism of the teams that day that dealt with the adoption process.
It was an enjoyable experience.

Fabulous staff who couldn't be more helpful. First class accommodation for the pets and total dedication. This is the second time we have adopted from them and they are just superb. Thank you to everyone.

Really friendly people who work there, got a cat from them and she is exactly how they described her to be so very observant with the animals they take care of would recommend

My 1st time there, adopted 2 rescued black cats on Saturday the 18th June, they are such a welcome to our house after my last furbaby died on the 1st June, xxx

It is a clean, caring, loving environment for the animals. Some are nursed back to full health with the understanding of the workers there.

They do a good job here in the main. We are currently fostering some kittens till they are old enough for the big world.

Adopted Moth ( a rabbit) . Very helpful staff . I would advise anyone who is thinking of getting a rabbit for a pet to have a look at Bawtry R.S.P.C.A They are neutered and microchipped. If it’s your first rabbit do some research on hutch size you need and welfare. It’s a time consuming job to look after them properly

Adopted our wonderful dog from here in 2016. Recent visit was for a reunion. It was a bit nippy in the garden but we still enjoyed it and the dog got to make new woofy friends and have a fuss with some of the staff who were there when we got him. I think he was happy to get back in the car at the end though...

Great animal help centre with 3 charity shops so please donate .

Excellent service, they really take care of their animals and proudly write on a Whiteboard in their waiting room how many animals they have managed to give homes to. Well done to all the team and thank you for giving me the chance to give Gordon (our new Bunny) a new home. Would highly recommend if you are looking to adopt.
S. S.
Very friendly, caring staff. They let you know every step of the way how your pet is doing. There is a contribution box at the desk, so do try and give them what you can afford, no matter what currency. They also welcome donations of blankets and stuff that may be useful for the animals. There are also folders at the desk full of adorable cats and dogs waiting to be adopted. Can't fault their work.

Always friendly staff, with a well laid out environment. All animals are cared for with the up most attention to detail.
There is a large cattery and a large dog section, and finally for all the other animals that require a new home.
It is fantastic that it has such great staff and volunteers, real champions of the community .
Give it a visit and even the coldest of hearts will melt.

Fantastic staff who really care about the animals. I would recommend adopting a pet from these amazing people. The little dog we have just adopted is quite manic at the moment but is just adorable, and our elderly dog is keeping him in order.

Nice place to visit the staff are very helpful friendly and knowledgeable my daughter adopted a kitten and the staff made sure before we left she knew exactly how to care for him and arranged dates for taking him back to continue his health care. The animals are kept in clean safe housing and are extremely well looked after

Staff were lovely, welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. Pens were spotless and animals well cared for. A great adoption experience, we're loving our new furbaby.
A. T.
Soooo friendly and helpful. I went with my Mum looking for a dog we had seen online. Unfortunately the dog was at another place but they made so much effort and found the dog and couldn't have been more helpful.
They really care about the animals it's very easy to see. 100% recommend this place.
A. H.
I don't want to talk down the good work done here but when I took a friend with mobility issues, the person on reception kept focusing on me and telling me about the dogs available for adoption.
I wasn't there to adopt a dog, I was driving my friend. Who was on crutches. I didn't ask any questions. my friend is an intelligent and articulate person so why not speak to her as the potential adoptee? Critches do not mean that the person cannot understand or converse!
It did open my eyes about the daily, unintentional and unwitting, discrimination that people with disabilities suffer and I felt awkward.
I know it wasn't intentional and staff were otherwise lovely and well intentioned for sure, so my review is just to raise this point and hope my point is taken on board
However, lovely dogs, it was good to see that there were no suitable dogs when we visited as most were already rehomed and hope many more do find great forever homes

Have adopted 2 little guinea pigs from the RSPCA bawtry. We have renamed them Blossom & Willow. They have settled in lovely and as you can see from the pics they have a lovely cage. Thanks for every thing

Saved the day. Lad who lives on site is a legend
M. S.
We had to give up our dog as our daughter was allergic to her. These people were so great with her taking her in and making us feel confident that she would be well taken care of.

I had an occasion to rehome 1xbudgie, 1x finch and 1x canary... totally unsure of my options, I contacted this RSPCA establishment and after pleasantries, I was told, "certainly, bring them here and we will re home them for you".
Will always recommend RSPCA, they do a remarkable job.
Many thanks.

We adopted our Lovely Ruby from here nearly 9mths ago. Staff were so helpful & did everything to make Rubys move from RSPCA Kennels as smooth as possiable. And were on hand with advice we need even after leaving. She is now one happy content dog who loves her walks playing fetch and is now doing egliate training on garden to keep her bright intelligant inqusitive mind. Its like she's always been part of our family. The staff do a great job noth paid & volunteers. I would recommend adopting from here .

J. C.
We adopted our seven year old girl from there and the staff were brilliant to us and the animal's in their care
M. M.
Great what they do for the poor animals but I was abit shocked when me and my partner went to view dogs to re-home and we couldn't even look at the dogs in person. We had to look at a stupid picture book of them. Was abit miffed to say I came all way from retford.
N. P.
Fantastic place to go I didn't think it is me how I found it all the animals as well looks looks after I got told most of work as their voluntary workers it was clean and everybody seem happy all the animals were well looked after
C. E.
You used to be able to walk in and see what was available but not anymore. So it's best to check online and only go if you would like a one on one meet with a dog, although there not has strict with the other animals.
B. R.
Always got lots of animals in. Caring staff on a fairly large site. Have had a large number of animals from them. Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Birds, small cage pets and Ferrets.
S. B.
Adoption is pretty straight forward providing you have a loving home to give very helpful staff.
S. M.
The facilities for the animals are outstanding. Obviously they can't help the noise from the kennels, just be aware it is very loud and quite distressing.
S. M.
Such great service from a very dedicated and caring team. We rescued two dogs from them and I'm so impressed with the way the whole process was completed.
