I’ve been to a handful of coworking spaces in Edinburgh. This one is the best. It’s got a real community feel and character, but also very practical.

A lovely building providing wonderful co-working and events spaces. I've used this as an office space, for yoga classes and for baby events with our new-born. An amazing space ran by very friendly people - a great resource for the community.

I love Tribe Porty, it’s my second home. I work here four days a week alongside a lot of very talented, interesting people. When my work gets stuck there’s always a great new perspective to draw on. Great food right downstairs at Earthy, bagels from The Bagel Lady at Bross Bagels and beer after work at The Skylark. And Beer Zoo is right on the corner! It’s a perfect location in Portobello, Edinburgh’s Seaside. Tribe Porty is a community within a community where you can work, play and find a bit of peace and quiet when you need it.

I'm based in Fife but work with a few clients in Leith and Portobello. I keep a desk here for the hours I need to work between meetings. I love working at Tribe Porty, they are a great bunch of people and it easy to park. All I need for a perfect few hours working, that, a good connection, and great coffee :-) See you all soon.

Tribe Porty is a fantastic place to not only work but to meet different people and collaborate with them. The people in there, from permanent to hot desks, are interesting and the word 'tribe' really summarises what everyone is about. The look out for each other and help each other out.

This review is a revision of my initial 4-star rating of Tribe Porty, which was based on my initial experience as a hirer of the Whitehall studio for yoga classes. I've chosen to re-evaluate it for the reasons below. How could it be improved? The issues were mainly with things that interfered with the quality of my students' yoga experience, namely: 1) the noise level from adjoining rooms, 2) the frequency of interruptions (i.e. phone calls for door entry from students for nextdoor services and number of walk-throughs during the class) as a result of sharing the space with the Pilates studio, 3) the condition of floors and equipment which were often dirty due to people tracking in with outdoor shoes and not being cleaned afterwards, and 4) the limitation of yoga props available. I am an honest person so simply share my experiences in hopes others will benefit and businesses can improve their services. In balance, upon communicating these issues, Tribe Porty management has addressed ways to reduce noise, interruptions & cleanliness. What I appreciate is that they are warm and welcoming and are supportive of small businsses/start-ups (especially encouraging Women in Business with their new 'Tribe Women' initiative) and genuinely seem interested in helping the community. They offer an interesting variety of workshops, classes and events and provide a shared workspace that encourages productivity.. even have an office 🐕! The ethos of creating a 'Tribe' where people can learn, develop and share ideas in a comfortable, relaxed place that exudes an 'unconventional' vibe that cultivates open-mindedness and 'outside the box' thinking was what drew (and kept) me at Tribe Porty. I'm aware that: 1) many people enjoy working there, 2) prospective customers who catch wind of what's going on there are curious and intend to visit and, 3) many customers have glowing experiences of the independent services available at Tribe Porty. In full disclosure, I had been asked to change my rating and am amenable to do so not due to pressure but rather, based on my larger body of experience working with them over the last couple years and on the merit of the efforts and good things Tribe Porty is aiming to achieve. So despite some initial challenges, I truly appreciate all that Tribe Porty has to offer. They are welcoming, supportive, and collaborative in promoting Tribe-related classes and events, which is something above and beyond what other studios do (well) for independent hirers that makes you feel valued, not just another 'source of income' for them. Overall, I love teaching at Tribe Porty and would highly recommend it as a place to work and participate in! So what are you waiting for? Go check it out ❣️🤗🌈

(Translated) Very friendly bicycle shop owner and staff, an unexpected offer. They replaced the front gear plate and chain for me, free of charge, and it was replaced immediately, without waiting. The owner told me that this is the Scottish government’s free bike maintenance program, which can be exempted up to £50. Thank you for such an honest and helpful shopkeeper, and thank the Scottish government for its policy of benefiting the people. Before I found this repair shop, I had inquired about 10 bicycle repair shops in Edinburgh city one by one, and they all said that they needed to make an appointment and waited at least one week to two weeks. And there are three bags on my bike, and anyone with a discerning eye can see that I am traveling for a long distance and it is impossible to stay here for a long time. Just when I was feeling desperate, I found this caring shop, which made me change my view of Edinburgh.
