Great museum with friendly staff. They offer open door weekends and two events each year, one in June as part of the West End Festival, and one in October as a larger weekend event, where you can ride the buses. Bus rides are free, entry to their museum, the former Glasgow Corporation depot in Bridgeton, is for a price, usually about eight pounds. The photos are taken across two years, 2021 and 2022, at their running weekend in October. Always frequented by young and old, families, and enthusiasts alike. A great day out for literally anyone. Very child friendly with plenty of things for them to see and a wee cafe on site for drinks and snacks.

Went to the family open day and it was great. The smell of diesel greets you as you come in the door. Today they had a fantastic brass band playing and plenty of stalls to keep the kids entertained. Loads of buses and lorries for the old kids to look at and remember what it was like...lol. There were also 2 brand new electric buses, a police car and a fire engine.

Brilliant day out here. Everything you want to see from the past. Old busses. trucks. bikes American vehicle, cars. scooters. Fire engines coffee shop. And an orchestra. Lovely day out.

Visited a family fun day at Bridgeton Bus station by GVVT. Great day for all. There were more vehicles than I expected and a great range from buses, fire engines to police cars. Kids had fun and was a great walk down memory lane for the adults. Well organised and a great day out.

Great value and a great experience for kids. Make sure to take advantage of the free vintage bus into Glasgow. Great way to round off the trip.

Fabulous display of Scottish transport throughout the decades. London Routemasters and others too! Stalls selling memorabilia, Clippies Cafe and fantastic Star Grill selling burgers, chips , hot dogs and more! That's the garage Open Weekends stopped now for the year. Don't miss next year Open Weekends. Check online for dates. Free runs into Glasgow City Centre on Vintage/ Classic buses too for free. A few other classic cars , taxis there on display too. Not to be missed.

A great place to go for the family, good banter and lots of knowledgeable people to tell you about the vehicles and displays. My parents were reunited with their old bus they worked on during their time at Central SMT .

Great day out. lots of families having fun, went on open top bus to George Square and back with Darth Vader and stormtroopers!

Great place to visit to see restored examples of old local buses and other public service vehicles. The staff are very friendly and informative and you can get snacks and drinks there too. A nice way to wallow in nostalgia and perhaps show youngsters what bus travel used to be like.

Wonderful collection of vintage buses, in various stages of preservation. Interesting to tour round with knowledgeable volunteers

2nd time visiting, superb selection of past buses, spent my time looking for the buses of my youth. Great place and well worth a visit, adults and children alike.
R. A.
Excellent range of vehicles and helpful friendly staff who had plenty of information. Really enjoyed the Vintage bus runs.
J. B.
Wife range of buses, coaches, fire engines; more than you could imagine are squeezed into quite a large shed, previously a bus depot. Outside other restored vehicles and a mobile cafe.
Most popular were the stands full of model buses, trams and trains, photos and memorabilia. Coach trips round Glasgow too.
Very few vehicles were open to view inside but there's evidence of much hard restorative work by many people and private owners.

Good to see all the old buses. Plenty of good stalls. Not overpriced
M. J.
A thoroughly impressive, expertly cared for and passionately loved collection brought to life by members. We just attended a guided tour today and it was evident that this place runs on diesel and dedication. Thank you so much for an enlightening and engaging tour that impressed both myself and my son. Highly recommended for anyone.
B.
Fabulous, what a great way to spend an afternoon. Guided tour of all the old buses for £5, well worth the money. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Events during the year with activities for children and bus rides from city centre which is for donation only. Definitely worth a visit to take you back in time. The area is wheelchair accessible and staff have a mobility scooter if someone feels unable to walk round. It is alll on a flat level and easily accessible from road. 5 minutes walk from Bridgeton train station

Absolutely fantastic day out. We have been a few times as I have a little 4yr old bus enthusiast and it's his favourite place. The staff are fantastic to say the least. Helpful, knowledgable and friendly. There are lots of different busses and staff on hand to give you information. On family open days they have great selection of private bus diorama . Diecast vehicles for sale as well as old timetables and much more. We love this place and can't wait to go back.

A wonderful collection of preserved buses which were operated by several now-defunct companies in the Glasgow area. Most are still 'operational'. Strongly recommended for a visit when it reopens to the public, once the current Corona Virus crisis is resolved. 1.5 hours should see most items of interest.
C. M.

Former bus garage with a large collection of buses from across Scotland. Worth visiting on open days for bus rides.
J. D.
Our most recent visit to the GVVT transport museum found some new exhibits and a different option in the cafe, hot filled rolls to compliment the hot drinks and cake. Looking forward to further events on the GVVT website.
D. G.
A traditional bus depot--and as meant to be, store most of the GVVT fleet indoors. Great selection of vehicles but my personal favorite is AH101, travelled on her lots(the first driver I spoke to on my first journey said she was starting her 2nd day of service. She was so pristine, wish she was back in Strathclyde livery, but just my own view.
D. M.
Great day out and friendly folk.
M. B.
Great place with great people. Lots of beautifully restored buses and coaches. It's open to the public on the last Sunday of the month and well worth a visit.
