The holbeck is a decent place to have a drink and meet new people. Open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday unless there are special events... The bar is usually open from 7:30 to 11pm. The staff are friendly and approachable, and will answer any questions you may have. The shows that often happen on a weekend are worth checking out, as are the community college classes that are advertised every few months.

Just went to the best cabaret night ever at The Holbeck. Very welcoming environment, great entertainment, reasonably priced bar, an eclectic mix of people (both in terms of the acts on stage and the patrons). Looks like Slung low are continuing to do really interesting things in their new home.

This is a community club, run in collaboration with Slung Lo, another community based organisation. Most of the time it is a normal working men's club, very cheap to become a member, about £6 a year I believe, and that gets you a discount on drinks too. But the difference is it is also a space for live performances. This is a place that needs everyones support. A great place to see all kinds of theatre. Google Slung Lo to find out more.

Historic, friendly former "working mens club" which recently rebranded itself as more of a "social club". Excellent place to have a function as their large upstairs room and accommodate up to 200 people. Unfortunately lost a lot of custom when the smoking ban came in and sadly went into financial difficulty. Luckily the local sprit continues to fight the keep this great club alive. The passion from most volunteers who run the club is heartwarming. I hope this place stays open for a long time yet.

Established in the 1870s Holbeck working men's club is a relic from a different era. Run by volunteers the club has stayed open offering cheap drinks and regular events such as Bingo. Friendly regulars and bar staff.

Need more soft drink options, not just pop and orange J2Os. Also, one of the sinks in the ladies wasn't working according to my wife.
