O. A.Lovely place. I liased with Chris about adopting a rescue pup from here and she was so friendly and helpful, answered every question or concern I had. We have had winnie for nearly 2 months now and she is fully part of the family, couldn't have asked for a better dog. She came microchipped, vaccinated and an estimated date to be spayed which is paid for. Thank you CLAIN for allowing us to adopt her, she is a joy to have in our home.

t.Brilliant when I needed to find shelter for a stray cat and kittens, pity that it smaller charities are doing all the work. Larger charities (RSpCA and cats protection) weren't interested, guess would be a different story if they were after money.

L. C.Great rescue centre. I put on my local group asking for donations of bedding and towels. I got that much I had to make four trips of full car loads boot and inside car were absolutely full. I had to share the donations between here an dogs trust there was that much and I couldn’t get up here from Liverpool. The four trips I did make the staff were great helping get the stuff in to the office and really appreciated the donations. It was the right time to do it as people were replacing stuff for Christmas So everyone was happy. Great rescue very helpful professionals and caring x

M. H.I visited this animal shelter a while back and actually got my first dog/rescue from here. They assess me and my lifestyle, came and did a house visit to check the environment to see whether or not it would suit the dog that I ended up getting. Obviously everything went well and I gave a dog a home.
While visiting I got to see the dog I wanted playing in an open area with others. Then I was able to take the dog for a walk with a dedicated area/field and upon my return I had made my decision.

H.Came across a poorly fledged seagull and wanted advise on where to take it as it was poorly and we are not from Liverpool, was only there for work. sadly when we called we were told they couldn't help and try another sanctuary or to just leave the bird, we asked for help as we are not from the area and was told to go on facebook... after half an hour of trying other sanctuaries and getting no where i finally rang RSPCA who advised us to take the bird to any vets but to be prepared to take him back where we found him if he is ok. turns out we were right, poor thing was starved and full of flu, the vets were unsure whether he would survive the night. Just sad that we weren't just told to take him to the vets first, it took 5 sanctuaries till we got told, let's hope they didn't have to euthanized him and he was realised.
J.We adopted our gorgeous Staffie cross at the start of the year. The staff are amazing and totally devoted to all the animals in their care. There are so many animals, through no fault of their own, in need of a good, loving home and anyone looking for a companion should contact Carla Lane.

S. K.It should be made more clear on the Facebook that you have to make an appointment as we travelled down to be turned away after being explained the process. It might just be my opinion but I feel that you should be able to go and see the dogs and not apply for one through a Facebook post. I adopted my staff 8 years ago, originally going to having a look for a small dog and falling in love with her. I think it takes away a lot of opportunities for the dogs.

J. B.This is the best place to adopt pets. They are very loving to their animals and care for them. I have adopted a kitten from them recently and love her with all my heart, I have added a picture with my giant cat!
N. M.Both myself & the owner were really upset that CLAIN had made no provisions to allow us to say our goodbyes in peace. At the reception desk, I cried whilst people were walking in & out with their donations. One person even commented "nice dog" during what was overwhelming sadness. If it wasn't for a more senior staff member coming to the rescue with the much needed detail about his potential new owners then I would have driven him back home.
The communication of an update from a specific staff member has not happened this weekend however, I did have the phone put down on me by the female with the whispery voice at the front desk because I told her that I was upset at being lied to. All this aside, CLAIN have rehomed him with what sound to be ideal owner's who can provide him a 'pack' to thrive in, which is what he desperately needed due to his severe seperation anxiety.
B. R.I went with my daughter for her to rescue a street dog from Bosnia and the staff were obviously so caring for the animals in there custody a really nice experience.
I was at my daughter's today when they delivered the lovely pup the young lady was so nice and helpful I highly recommend Carla lane if you are looking for a dog 100%

J. l.Don't buy from Facebook. Carla lane have so many lovely animals all in need of a good home... They are great here and home check .. much better going to a rescue then buying from Facebook where you really don't know much about the animals you are getting plus most people all about the money and not the animals... So if you want a lovely fur baby that will love you so much then go to Carla Lane.

E. N.The staff here are so loving and caring towards the animals in the sanctuary. We've adopted several pets from them over the years and I'm always impressed with the facilities and the way in which the staff dedicate themselves to providing high quality care for each animal.
Furthermore, the kennels and surrounding rural area around the buildings have been utilised for the dogs and farmyard animals, with the kennels having been modernised to a high standard. Excellent!

J. W.Very helpful and quick turnaround for pet adoption. They have a checklist of sorts you need to pass in order to qualify, buy if you read up on their rules and regulations, you are not going to be disappointed! Adopted two kittens there yesterday, and you can tell all the staff here love animals. They may be busy during visiting hours looking after the animals, but there is truly no doubt that the animals are well looked after.

M. L.I adopted a lovely little 12 month old female staffie called Ruby some 15 months ago.when the gentleman dropped Ruby off he said if I ever need any help they were just a phone call away . I've been having some serious health issues over last 6 months and have spent a fair bit of time in hospital. I don't have any family or anyone to look after Ruby when in hospital (she's my velcro dog and gets stressed if on her own for to long) so I phoned carla lane and asked would they help me ,they could not have done any more .this was when covid outbreak was gaining traction so I didn't expect them to be able to help.on very short notice they agreed to take care of Ruby which was a massive relief. if your reading this and are considering adopting a dog or cat please adopt one from hear . I can't speak highly enough of Carla lane animals in need , adopting a dog is a very gratifying thing to do and i could not be happier with my little Ruby. Thank you to all the staff at "carla lane animals in need" for helping me and continuing to help me 15 or so months later. God bless you all.
C. M.I can not fault the staff, and the centre, however I have phoned on 3 occasions within the last 7 days seeking advice on a dog we adopted.
I have had no response, and I think with some advice we could of kept the dog, and not lost £210 and an amazing dog. However due directly to the lack of response I am going to have to return the dog. I truly believe that with advice the obstacle we encountered could of been overcome.
I have spoken to others who have encountered this lack of aftercare with the Sanctuary. I tell everyone here this has broken my bloody heart. I hold my blame completely but I also hold Carla lanes staff responsible as well, as all they had to do was respond and given me advice, but they did not.
M. B.We got our two mischievous little cats from here. They were absolutely amazing, they went out of their way to find a time that suited us to bring the cats over and look over the house. Super friendly and understanding with us while we were there. Couldn't recommend them more.

R. M.I visited 1st December to donate food after an appeal on Radio Merseyside. I've never been to this particular rescue before and could not believe how FANTASTIC the sanctuary is. What a wonderful , caring and loving environment for the traumatised animals that have been rescued.
The work that goes into running any rescue will be a 24/7 job.. Many staff will be hard working volunteers. The paid staff will work longer than their contracted hours, because "that's the way it is" with these gifted beautiful people.
It feels great to donate food, money, towels or bedding to rescue sanctuaries and their shops which me and my family try to do regularly. You know you are helping in a small way and all the donations from everyone become a big donation that is saving lives and giving these lovely animals a second chance.
What we see when we choose a rescue pet for a FOREVER HOME is the finished article The staff see and know the heartbreak behind every animal taken into the sanctuary and they are gifted to be able to deal with this and carry on smiling. They see what horrible people are out there and there are too many of them.
I have just read a negative review that prompted my review, I already know that if you are on this site you will be an animal lover please look at the wonderful work that goes on behind the scenes and the love and joy that animals and new owners get because of this. I am speaking as an owner of a fantastic rescue Jack Russell.
Also it's amazing how many genuine fantastic rescue owners and dogs you meet while out walking.
Where would all these rescue animals be if not for the charitable work of staff at all Animal sanctuaries.

m. s.I went to animals in need 12years ago hoping to adopt a small dog, staff were helpful but kept showing me a staffie dog named sasha, not what l wanted size wise but l adopted her and took her home, best decision l have ever made,she was a bit needy hence the nick name needy nelly, but she was funny clever and gentle and l miss her so very much. Sasha had to be put to sleep2 weeks ago due to pain from osteoarthritis, lm so absolutely devastated but so thankfull for the last 12 years, Carla Lane and animals in need have a wonderful reputation for the work they do and the help they give to there animals,

W.recently I contacted the centre about a cat that was a stray cat living in the back garden of a nursing home where I work, It was classed as an emergency as even though we were feeding her and tryed to give her a bit of Shelter,she was still exposed to the cold and rain. Kate was very caring and did everything she could to help to get her into the shelter a.s.a.p. which she did and even came to collect her . I am very grateful to Kate and a the centre.
I also adopted a lovely cat from them last year which I wouldn't be without.
