I am very pleased to be able to escape the stress of road riding and take time out to explore one of the cycle-only routes that Sustrans have helped to create. Yesterday I got a puncture several miles from home. I had a spare inner-tube with me, so I tried to change it, but got a pinch puncture. After pushing my bike dejectedly for a couple of miles, I was pleasantly surprised when a guy stopped and very expertly fixed the puncture without water, by the side of the track and helped me on my way. I had seen him accompanying a large group of schoolkids earlier and learned that he either works or volunteers for Sustrans. So thanks Ben and thanks Sustrans for the great work you do.

I cycle mainly on roads and have cycled over 150 miles in 1 day. Road cycling can be stressful at times when negotiating heavy traffic or on narrow A and B roads where large lorries come too close to you.. I have recently tried some of Sustrans vast network of off road routes in Wales and England and have found them suprisingly enjoyable and stress free. Definately good for people afraid of the roads and Family Groups

Great at building bridges to make the life of cyclists and pedestrians easier. I'm so pleased they gave us the National Cycle Network - I use it whenever I go on a long ride.
