A club for both present and ex civil servants located in Central London. A downstairs bar with outside seating area, with very reasonable prices for central London. Also serving a varied menu and again reasonable prices for central London. Restaurant areas available for groups. Rooms also available for overnight stays, en suite and breakfast included at good prices. Includes weekend deals.

This is really a classic example of a gentleman's club. Formal dress code. The Interior decor is reminiscent of the 50s or 60s. Food is superb. Had a homemade steak and ale pie. I'll recommend anyone to try it. Service was excellent and the staff as always friendly, helpful and courteous.

I like the atmosphere in the club, but the reception staff are disinterested. You make a little conversation and get nothing back. It's a shame. It is a haven away from the madness of central London though. You do need to be a member.

Enjoyed a 4 night stay. Unbeatable location between Northumberland Avenue and Whitehall. Wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced as were the bar prices. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is eligible to stay.

The hotel is really good and well priced. It is a membership club and really if you are going to use regularly for the comedy night or barbecues or just to catch with pals; it is well worth it.😉

Went into the Civil Service Club for a quick couple of pints of Guinness as I did not have much time. When I received the bill the total came to £45.00. I immediately told them £22.00 for a pint, you have to be joking. Unfortunately they had given me someone's else's bill. They managed to sort it out for me. Having said all that I will definitely be going back to the Club again when I am next back in London.

A great place in central London to eat and drink. Membership is compulsory but you can take guests. Price point is very low for the location. Salmon fillet, crushed new potatoes and spinach for me. Husband had chicken skewers with chips and wilted spinach. 2 large glasses of wine, total of £28 - bargain. Staff lovely and helpful

Went as a guest of a member for coffee and a snack after visiting an art gallery but did the Christmas lunch last year for £21 which was excellent for a 3 course meal. Reasonable selection of bar snacks and good prices but it does get really busy. This is a members club so to get in you need to be a member or to get them to take you as a guest.

Used to be a member for 3 years but even though I'm in my 50s, overwhelmingly and almost always everyone around, is older than me. The set dinners upstairs are so good value and the service accomplished. I live in central London and so have no use of the available accommodation and so cannot comment. I let it expire as I feel it's looking tatty in the main social areas and just not somewhere I'd willingly bring my younger friends. They're the ones who're out too!

For central London, it's well priced (in comparison to other nearby hotels), my room however had little to be impressed with. It was supposed to be a double but was actually a twin, there wasn't a window, just an old fire escape door which would lead me to believe that it wasn't a room but a small lobby area at some point. The water pipes made such a terrible racket when the toilet was flushed that you wouldn't dare flush in the middle of the night for fear of waking the whole building up. Overall, as the stay was for work, it served it's purpose, allowed me to be close to where I needed for meetings but offered little on the way of creature comforts. With little choice in this price bracket I would however use it again.

First off, you will have to be a Civil Service Club member, or a guest of one to be able to access the premises. Nice bar, great prices considering the location, good seating, good food (especially 2 for 1 Mondays!) and a nice atmosphere great for gatherings.

Pleasant Club in centre of London, really couldn't be more central. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Accommodation available too. Members only (Civil Servants & Met Police). The best kept secret in the Civil Service.

A members only club for Civil Servants and ex-Civil Servant who can invite guest. It has Hotel facilities with conference rooms and a Resturant with a reception area for check in. Members can book buffet events for their charity including sit down meals. Various events are organised for member such as Murder Mystery dinner, Comedy event and Wine Tasting. The bar food is excellent and reasonably priced on the ground floor. Outside covered seating is available. Easy access to Embankment, Charing cross, Leicester Square and a short walk across the footbridge to Waterloo Station.

A must attend location for any self respecting civil servants, especially those on Whitehall. With the cheapest drinks I've found within a stones throw of Whitehall, a large heated outdoor area, good food offers and a kind respectful clientele I wouldn't go anywhere else.
