Reviews of The Mill (Community Centre)

Dedicated volunteer run venue full of events for everyone. Welcoming efficient reception area. Community aware.Great displays of work and accomplishments. Toilet. Free honesty library. Play room.

This is a lovely friendly community hub in Walthamstow. Loads going on and for me it's always been a perfect place to take my grandchildren. Plenty of toys to play with and books to read and usually frequented by parents and grandparents with pre school children so the children get the chance to socialise and interact with others as do the adults. For a small donation you can get a drink and biscuit and toilets are available.

All I have to say is 'go there'. Find out what's going on and possibly volunteer if you have spare time. Very friendly and motivational. Public toilet. Children's room. Rooms available for hire. Gallery. Helpful receptionists. A center for local events and organisations. Check it out! Plus they have a small library which you don't even need to join to take books. There is records taken of books taken. Up until simply take the book and return if and when you wish or even donate books at your will.

Small and cosy, eclectic venue with a variety of workshops on offer. Needs a good airing and clean though since it smells quite stuffy inside and overcrowded like a hoarders room.
Particularly favoured by groups from the local area to knit, play cards, catch up and use the kids area. Yoga, language classes etc. are also on offer here with some other lottery funded workshops.
Is a collection point for the local organic food initiative.
Also the venue for the monthly councillor surgery for the High Street ward.
Rooms on rent for parties, workshops etc. Slightly on the expensive side considering it is a community space and the limited space and condition of the venue.

We hold our monthly clinic's for Vaccination UK at The Mill for school aged children who have missed their vaccines at school. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful, it is an ideal venue for our clinic - the whole community can come together here - keep up the great work guys!

What I loved about the Mill was their flexibility, they helped me in every way that they could, totally supporting me getting my project off the ground. Quickly replied to emails, everyone was so open and friendly. Would highly recommend as a venue. Would come back any day!!!!

I'm a volunteer receptionist at The Mill and I highly recommend anyone to visit who can. It is a community hub for all that occurs in the borough. Events for children and a children playroom. Classes and sessions for all ages. Leaflets available in stands for what's happening at the mill and inside the borough. An exhibition of local artists is displayed in the main room very often. A small honestly library a legacy of what the building initially was 10 years ago. Yoga, language classes, knitting, bike club, ESOL classes, and much much more. A monthly schedule is available at reception for what is expected to take place. Yoga classes are all stages and even laughter yoga that has instantly attracted by locals in its 2/3rd session run by a lovely lady Fontana. Do yourselves justice and check out what's there whilst he long yourself to beverage at the coffee/tea area. If you have issues with the council a councillors surgery takes place once a month 1 of 3 council cabinet members including Clare Coghill attends. Once you attend you'll find out how vibrant Waltham Forest is and find something that interests you. Good luck!

Welcoming local community centre in the St James area of Walthamstow. There's tons of activities happening here every week, from yoga and knitting groups to dyslexia groups and community gardening. They also have a kids play room which is open to the public and perfect for a rainy day. The centre has a very earthy and slightly shabby feel but has a lot of potential.

Brilliant play sessions for under 5. Tea and coffee for parents.perfect venue for those days when you have to get the kids out of the house for a change of scenery.

Nice community hub. It'll be a shame if they stop the events on a Thursday. I went to one where we made herbal medicine. It was quite good. Lots of different people to meet!

Excellent local venue with all sorts of interesting things going on including arts and language classes, yoga, events for children, food bank donations etc etc, all staffed by volunteers in what was a local library.

I love this place. Friendly staff and a very nice space. We live just around the corner so when the weather is bad it's s great option to let the kids playing and meet mums for a chat.

Not my kind of place. But is okay for retired people. Is a friendly place. For young parents, they have some form of activities for small children.

A very helpful center where people of all ages use. I left my Learn How to Sew in 12 Hours leaflets there a course to help people back in to work or stay at home mums and dads with an opportunity to start their own business which they can do in their own time. We are Enrolling Now. Thanks. ADOLE of ADOLE DESIGNS

Great little community hub. Somewhere to meet a friend, hang out, have a cup of tea and meet new people. Lots of activities going on there too and a kids' play room.

There's always so much going on here! The most creative initiatives in Walthamstow start at the Mill, and the children's room is a perennial favourite with my little one.

I love this cosy volunteer-run community centre where locals mingle and socialise. They run various classes from Yoga to ESOL, too!
