Visited today for the 1st time and was met with very, very friendly staff. Ensured I read all the range safety info and also the covid safe procedure they have in place at present. Very friendly atmosphere and made to feel like a long term visitor on my first visit. Will be back again and many , many more times after. Can highly recommend 👌

i personally liked it great place to go and do some target practice they have guns for hire to be used at the range with also shooting lessons very strict on safety cafe on site is ok and catering services are adequate the shooting range itself is great but the tables where you shoot can become crowded

Love this place. I had been before a few years ago and it was great then. The staff are very helpful and welcoming to all types of abilities. This time i took my two nephews, one aged 9 and one aged 14. Neither of whom had shot before. As myself and my father are experienced we declined the offer of a lesson and taught them ourselves however, they do offer lessons to those who are completely new or haven't shot in a while. They have two ranges and a pistol range. They serve food, soups, tea and coffee. They also sell pellets, targets etc. to get you going. There is air charging facilities and the staff are more than happy to help you charge your rifle if needed. Overall i highly recommend this place. Great for those of all skills and abilities.

The best range I've ever visited inside the UK by far, friendly atmosphere and amazing staff and they are improving on what already is An amazing place to shoot. The shop stocks all the best ammo so you don't need to Stock up elsewhere before You come. And the new target system is epic. Pistol range, 42 and 75 yard indoor ranges and rim fire all under one roof. Simply the best

Perhaps not your first choice of something to do if you are not already a shooter but give it a try. Easy to get to with just enough parking on busier days when the Airsoft is also on. Located over two floors including a huge 75 foot range, there are plenty of choices. You pay for the day so no pressure and they have the knowledge and experience to keep you right. Nearby bar serves meals (in the same mill) and drinks and snacks available in the range. Very down to earth and friendly. Gun hire available if you book and you get top quality rifles. They have everything you need but their focus is on safety, and rightly so. They make their requirements clear and they expect you to follow them. That is only fair of course. There is a gun shop on site with a limited selection to look at though you are probably able to order what you need. Free air refills for PCP owners! Highly recommended.

As a first time shooter I was a little hesitant coming to an established range. However after a friendly welcome and safety brief I was soon zeroing my scope even though I really did not know what I was doing!! I didn't need to worry though as everybody is so friendly and more than happy to help out. I was only there 3 hours but left with a huge smile. I will definitely be coming back and would definitely recommend Atherton Indoor Range - Thank you!

Great venue, really long range. Easy access and a reassuring emphasise on safety. The only down side was the lack of interesting targets. The big shooting range was all spinning targets, the smaller area had some variations but could benefit from some more thoughtful targets. Some decent gun rests for zeroing and a little more lighting would be good in the 10 meter area. I can see this is a work in progress and I would go again to see if things get better. The staff are helpful and the venue is very professionally run.

By far the best and most friendly indoor range in the uk. Full of airgun gurus who are willing to help and the warmest of greetings for new shooters. Heated in the winter and great food available. Owners are incredibly hospitable and safety is taken very seriously indeed. Great day out for families

Great range with excellent safety discipline. Ive been going for some time and went last Thursday with a couple of friends and there son. Showing the discipline on making your gun safe between target changes is great. Despite previous reviews saying the staff do not have good customer service is not something I have experienced. Friends and my self have only experienced good customer service👍. The shop is excellent and are great at providing advice, even tools if you've forgotten yours. Also there are several ranges with a wide range of plinkers, spinners and siren activated targets to just setting up your own targets. They even have a pistol range which doubles up for a quick site in. Target changes are nice and frequent at every half hour as well as Free air for PCP. £6 to shoot all day, no club fees, friendly atmosphere, food, drink available and a gun shop where you can actually have a conversation without being pressured to buy something is an absolute bargain. I can't recommend Atherton range enough, each time I go they are expanding the range, to put in retractable targets and are doing this themselves so they avoid passing on the cost to the customer. Now that has to be A+++ right there for customer 👍

No matter what level of shooting you're into, be it a total newcomer to the hobby, or a dedicated sportsman, this is possibly *the* best range in the country. The staff are helpful, knowledgable and above all, PROFESSIONAL. They (and all the shooters present during your visit) will make you feel very much at home. Its easy to find thanks to Sat-Nav, and I for one done mind a 4 hour journey from Swansea to visit.

Today I visited Atherton Indoor Range. My expectations were very high on my first visit after reading the following 3 reviews:- 1)"From what I saw, it sets a new standard in public airgun ranges, a standard that is a long, long way above average!" - Simon Everett, Airgun Shooter Magazine. 2)"Offering airgun shooters a top-quality indoor facility with all the trimmings isn't an easy task. I believe that they have succeeded and then some." - Terry Almond, Gun Mart Magazine. 3)"Frankly, a visit to AIR is a must for anyone within driving distance" - Keith Warburton, Air Gunner Magazine. I was not disappointed! There was a friendly atmosphere. With good tuition from Robbie. Becky ensured that the range was run safely and that I was fully aware of the need to follow the legal and safety rules. I found that the 75 yard range A.I.R. Extreme, complete with a concrete and steel bench, has been designed to stay cool during hot weather, so shooters can escape the heat during the warmer months; and individual infrared heaters take the chill off the cold/cooler weather to improve the comfort of the shooters. You can stay warm, and stay shooting! A.I.R. is a Registered Firearms Dealer (RFD) meaning you can buy from Andy at the shop and try on the range before you buy! Save both time and money and ensure you get the right equipment for you. Try it-you will like it!

Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. We went on our first time shooting there and the staff explained everything, gave great demonstrations an induction so we got the most out of the day. Very reasonably priced.

Friendly welcoming owners and visitors too, in a relaxing and spacious atmosphere. Expert advice and tuition (easily pre booked) on hand from Andy the owner and highly passionate, expert shooter! Helped me enormously to get up and running with confidence to rekindle my interest in the sport. . £6 for as long as you want.. No pre booking. Free air top ups. Great value for money. Rifles can be hired. Free and ample car park. Three ranges available. I've been several times now travelling 30 miles and it's been well worth the travel. Shall become a regular. Highly recommended. Pay at the door, after security checks you have choices of rifle and pistol ranges. Safety is paramount here, the range we used had a 'range Marshall' who ran the range and was very helpful with shooters queries. There's a gun shop and hot and cold drinks etc available. Pcp's can be charged without charge and bottles filled for a fee dependant on their size. We loved every minute of our stay, which for £6 allows you to stay all day if you wanted. Can't wait to return.

First visit today, had a really good time and thoroughly enjoyed shooting. Got my son his first plinking air rifle for Christmas. After a few cold days in the garden I rang AIR and booked myself a hire rifle for Saturday and we both shot on the heated indoor range. Needed tuition as we are both absolute novices. The tutor was very helpful teaching the basics and zeroing my sons rifle which was a mile out to begin with. As I had booked a hire rifle I thought I would end up with something like you get at the funfair. However the hire rifles are Daystate Huntsman with a scope which is about £1000 worth of kit. Not bad for a fiver! Within minutes we were hitting targets and spinners along the full length of the range. Great professional service, knowledgeable staff and loads of fun. Staff are friendly enough, only issues I would mention are, the size of the venue is a little small (in terms of how many users can shoot at one time, the length of the range is great) and it is usually busy so pre booking is highly recommended, they also only have a small number of guns to rent so call ahead and don't waste a journey if you aren't local!
