The Lit and Phil is a great way of joining in the learning about ideas - stuff I never knew was fascinating becomes a revelation - a great way of discovering more about the familiar too. Some of it with a really engaging Manchester focus.

This 'hidden gem' in Manchester's cultural (and historical) crown is great for those who want to keep in touch with the latest developments in the sciences and arts, whilst meeting some really interesting people. They cover a very wide spectrum of academic and social interest, and appeal to all ages from 6th form up. Well worth a look at their website to see the range of speakers, which at present is mainly on line due to Covid, but in happier times are 'live' in front of the audience where some really star speakers are giving lectures. They have a pretty good social life too with after lecture meals and external walks and visits to museums and theatres. Well worth a try.

Very interesting session and speakers, which has made me think a lot more about news. Thanks to all involved.

The Lit & Phil provides top class lectures on a wide range of subjets - arts, science etc. These are online at the moment but when they go back to live venues, it is also possible to meet up with a very interesting group of people.

I have been listening to several of these talks; they always give an excellently lengthy explanation of the issues and invariably expand your worldview. Strongest recommendations.
