Reviews of Milton Keynes IWKA Martial Arts - Wing Tjun Kung Fu & Tai Chi & Self Defence

I trained with Ian (instructor) for a year and can say a few words about the school. Ian has a deep knowledge of wing chun and he is a very nice and approachable person. His classes are very relaxed with a blend of wing chun, internal energy and strength, balance, and relaxation methods.

Milton Keynes IWKA Martial Arts offers a comprehensive insight into Wing Tjun and Ian is a patient, interesting and knowledgeable instructor. There are various different focuses, including self-defence and street safety, as well as the traditional martial arts practices. Prices are very reasonable, I've signed up and am now taking the first steps to black belt! Even if you don't think martial arts is for you, you should still give this a try!!

Excellent Class - Ian is a fantastic instructor and his passion for his martial art is clear. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere that is perfect for those wanting to learn a new martial art.

I’ve been training IWKA for about 6 months now. I had previously trained with a different organisation and at first found the differences between the 2 frustrating. Sifu Kilkenny has been extremely patient and informative, helping me to adapt and understand how the differences can make me a better martial artist. This style of Wing Chun has something for everyone; whilst it has the close quarter striking and trapping it also encompasses internal training to direct energy and relax the body. We look at defence against boxers and grappling utilising classical and modern techniques, we utilise body mechanics and fluid movement to disable an opponent through Classical Chinese Chin Na (Joint locking). All of this is delivered in a friendly and safe environment. Sifu Kilkenny Is a humble and knowledgeable teacher who is able to differentiate learners ability and provide individualised training to meet the students needs. Whilst it can be hard work, it is fun, and extremely satisfying when you see the fruits of your labour. I would recommend IWKA Wing Tjun to anyone looking to learn a classical martial Art or as an effective form of self defence.
