The most amazing venue in Newcastle. An absolute hidden gem. A little oasis, a literal stones throw from the centre of Newcastle. I couldn’t recommend a better venue in the north east with accommodating and attentive staff that make it their mission for your event to be exactly what you want it to be where nothing is an issue. We had a day and night there but 100 people will have memories for a life time.

Summerhill Bowling Pavilion is set in a stunning Georgian Square. It is a peaceful hidden gem only a stones throw from the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. It has a beautiful wild garden and orchard, with generous space for marquees. A wonderful natural place to hold a wedding or a function. The Manager went to amazing lengths to help us achieve our wonderful wedding day.

Beautiful houses ...A House Through Time is a much watch ...the blue plaques to Mo Mowlem and Frederick Douglass highlight the history of this wonderful quiet corner of Newcastle

We had our wedding reception here in August and we could not fault the venue at all, it was fantastic. From the moment first contacting Hugh to have a look around through to the day itself we couldn't have wished for a better experience. The venue is a hidden gem and the moment we saw it we loved it and knew it provided the relaxed fun day we envisaged. Hugh and the team were amazing and we did not appreciate on first looking around all of the help we would receive on the day from the staff, they made everything run perfectly. The number of people who have since commented that it was the best wedding they've attended has been amazing.
We cannot recommend Summerhill enough and cant wait to visit this special place again.

We used the Summerhill venue to hold our company summer party. Many of those who attended were amazed at this hidden gem just a short walk from the town centre. The staff were amazingly helpful throughout the process, both in the lead up to the party and on the night itself. The prices both for hire and for drinks were really reasonable and I would 100% recommend Summerhill to anyone looking to hold a party or event.

A charming venue hidden close to the city centre - a much loved former bowling club house with two greens and some allotments and gardens. Hosts several events each year (Vamos festival, the best Guy Fawkes event and some community fairs), as well as lots of private parties. Great for weddings, parties, and concerts.

We had a wedding reception here and it was excellent. The bar is not too expensive and the staff were really accommodating.
It was very quiet and serene late during the night with the sound of the football stadium in the far distance.

Summerhill Bowling Club is one of the most wonderful venues in Newcastle, if not in England - a beautiful project, with kind, considerate, helpful people who run it. They made our wedding perfect, intimate and warm in the snow! I cannot recommend them enough - do drop by and find out more for yourself, it is truly a hidden gem by the Tyne. Thank you Hugh and Sam.

I had a good afternoon.
It has only just reopened and some repairs were work in progress. Understandable.
Looking forward to supporting the venue in the future.

The amazing square that is tucked away close to the centre of Newcastle featuring stunning architecture, a host of famous names as previous occupants and a bowling club like no other. It has a village feel and one side of the square is built upon Hadrian's Wall. You can also imagine the life the Georgian's led who built this grand square

Tried to attend Newcastle & District Beekeepers Association meeting. The association has been on line and when it restarts face to face it will change the venue to Longbenton Cat & Dog shelter

It BEE great! The pavilion at Summerhill hosts the Newcastle Beekeeper's Association once a month and is most accommodating. I attended for the first time recently and there was a real BUZZ about the place.

One of the most accommodating and friendly venues I've been to, both as a performer and an audience member. Beautiful little spot on a sunny day too.
