Reviews of World HQ
P. S.
Both floors have a full void soundsystem. As anyone who appreciates music will know these speakers pump out some of the best sound you will find in a nightclub. World HQ has gone overboard and the amount of speakers could easily power a venue three times the size.
The raised DJ booth on the top floor gives you a festival feeling in a small venue.
As someone use to London - Drink prices seemed cheap but I can’t really tell compared to the local area. Staff were really friendly too.

Ali and Kiana on the door are so beautiful and amazing - they truly make my night everytime i come! Love them so much, queens xx
Update: no longer on the door but forever in our hearts

Loved it but can be over packed not much room! Bring bk the W34

Crackin atmosphere never been bouncing that hard in my life

I've been going to the club for a very long time, now. I can genuinely say that it is the best club in Newcastle by far. The atmosphere is incredible, the music is outstanding and the door staff and bar staff are the friendliest around. To top it off, the drink prices are considerably cheaper than other clubs. The uplifting groove at the weekend plays the best soul, funk, disco, R&B and hip hop. This is the only place you should be bothered about visiting in Newcastle. Life long fan, here!

Relatively tried and tested alternative club in Newcastle. Catering a range of events and musical tastes. Generally good night's but turn out at the events can vary massively from tickets being sold out weeks in advance to maybe 15 people turning up (that's the nature of niche events though I guess)
Pricey drinks.
Adequate facilitues.

Love dnb so the events on here are great for me. There's parking and the bouncers are reasonable. It's really grotty but that's the right atmosphere for some. The sound system and lights could do with being improved especially upstairs.

Love all the negative reviews: have these people never been to a nightclub before?? Yep, its dark and smelly and there's limited drink options at the bar but you go to a club to dance and meet people! Perfect place to do this! Long live WHQ!
J. K.
The sound system is amazing. Best Bass I’ve experienced for a long time. Top quality

I don't often frequent WHQ, but when I do it's a blast! Never had any issues with the bouncers, they're all professional and have a good laugh too! The bar staff are also very good!

Wonderful place for music dancing and meeting fabulous people

This club is made of two old warehouses on top of each other but they still offer every kind of night under the sun.
The Normal Everyday Sort Of Night: A safe bet if you want a weekend far away from the mayhem on Collingwood Street. There might be a rule for these ones about maintaining a strict crowd density of one person per 18 square feet of dancefloor, but the staff are very helpful and will tell you it’s just the right amount of people really and you’re having a good time.
The Big Ones: These are the nights put on throughout the week and sometimes on useful nights like Friday. They either sell out in seconds or are “down to the last few tickets” and then you get there and the place is empty again. The biggest of the big ones are like those commuter trains in Japan where they have to hire extra staff to jam people through the doors, expect pitch black and with bass wobbling the jelly in your eyeballs.
The Out-Of-The-Blue Weekend Epilogue: Occasionally for no reason at all they will book something mental in for a Monday night. It’s quite good really because it puts whatever your current day job is into perspective. You might have been on the wagon for a bit, really putting in the hours at your new office gig, when out of nowhere your mate calls you and says there’s something on at Worldies tonight. “Tonight?” you splutter in a business-like way, phone held in the crook of your shoulder while you iron a fresh shirt, “But Tonight’s a School Night” you say, mock-aghast, forgetting that that kind of trite remark only qualifies as a joke in office circles. And then you surprise yourself by going and wrecking your whole week and then quitting your job to do Deliveroo and graffiti full-time again. You’re only ever one ill-advised Monday night pinger away from a totally new chapter of your life.
The Not Actually At World HQ: Great big nights in great big Wylam Brewery with great big price tags.
The ‘I reckon I have my finger on the pulse of the Newcastle underground scene’’: One of the greatest strengths of WHQ is that anyone can put a night on. This is great news for promoters who actually know what they’re doing but bad news for everyone else when the other guys come along, bringing an entire crate of glitch-hop records and a crowd of four sheepish students.
You may sometimes experience the disquieting feeling that you aren’t having fun but that’ll just be because you aren’t getting it, mate. If you aren’t sure whether you’re getting it, head on over to the website and read the 50 page manifesto on World HQ and why it is great. I read the whole thing. It took me nearly two hours and I didn’t want that time to be wasted so I’ve decided to like it.

Good soundsystem, great space, friendly staff and always put on good events. What more can you ask for from a club? Best club in Newcastle IMO.
R. B.
Always really sweaty in here. But they sometimes host good club nights. Drinks are at going rate for the area. Nothing too special
