Reviews of The Anstice
We chose the Anstice as the venue for our wedding reception and absolutely loved it. The ball room is simply beautiful and a lovely space.
Lyndy and all the other staff we spoke to were friendly, professional and helpful.
Our band loved the acoustics, our guests loved the sprung dance floor and so many commented on how lovely the Anstice is. Those local to the area were stunned by how beautiful it is following the refurbishment. Highly recommended as a venue for a wedding or any other event.
Former working men’s club now community centre complete with ballroom, cafe and local library. Listed building recently modernised. Ballroom available for hire.
Great place to eat quick service and the food is top quality 10/10
Fantastic place had a great time watching jonny 2 bad a ub40 tribute band they were great 5 stars all the way.
Went this evening for a concert, lovely friendly and happy place to be. Cheers

Great venue for a party
Good clean building with nice cafe.
A real community hub, there is an amazing ballroom, with stage and bar, with a cafe downstairs. The staff and.volunterts are so friendly. A great community resource.
Haven't been in here since the renovations, but was delighted by the work done that I had time to see, such as the resource room, library / First Point and cafe on the ground floor.
Had a cream tea from cafe. After placing my order, (which was reasonably priced), it was quickly delivered to my table outside by Lauren, a delightfully cheery person, very helpful, very efficient.
Nice experience. When I get more time, I'll look around a bit more and update my review.
A beautiful hidden gem, you really must see it for yourself. Fantastic cafe, library (limited opening at present due to Covid) and meeting spaces downstairs, a wealth of original features and very proud staff and locals only too happy to tell you about the history of the place. The real eye-opener is the beautifully refurbished ballroom upstairs, complete with sprung dance floor, stage, bar and balcony seating. Afternoon teas can be booked in this beautiful setting, all fully Covid secure. Dont miss it!
A good night the motown music sound was a bit tinney for me has though it needed a bit more bass drinks a bit expensive but I always my music 🎶and dancing 🕺
Lovely evening at the panto! Good laughs, though longwinded first half!
The loos were clean, plenty of toilet rolls, handwash and paper towels. Bar pleasant and clean.
Last event for a while as £1.5 million refurb starts tomorrow! A lift being installed, amongst other things!
Beautiful building, very covid safe. Great library and great coffee too.
Attended a Dance with Music evening, good session, floor clean, good size dancehall. Plenty of parking.

Just visited the Cafe, not for the first time, but sat outside in the shade of an umbrella and had a lovely homemade Quiche and salad, other half had a breakfast both done to order, it's lovely to have somewhere to go and have homemade food, and of course had to bring one of the cheese scones home and a piece of cake xx well worth a visit x

Absolutely wonderful night at this Peaky Blinders charity event. Everyone entered into the spirit of the night and there was horse racing, gambling tables and entertainment. Wonderful, already have our tickets for next year!

I like the outdoor seating on a sunny day. Have a cappuccino and people watch. Good menu great and staff helpful. Two rooms inside clean and spacious.
It was nice to be greeted on arrival and the refurb explained, we only stopped off to have a quick look and ended up staying for a cuppa... a new lease of life in the Anstice and it looks wonderful
