Liza and FJG advised me on conveyancing for a flat. The experience of working with Liza was excellent throughout. She was incredibly professional, thorough and patient in dealing with my questions and I would have no hesitation in working with her again the in the future. I would highly recommend Marion knocker who was the conveyancer on my purchase. She replies same day (sometimes even late at night), answers the phone, and offered me a pretty reasonable fixed fee deal. I really trusted her advice which was logical and legal matters well explained. All said factors took a lot of frustration out of a tricky leasehold purchase. I will recommend to friends, colleagues, family etc. to add some context this is my third sale/ purchase (previously used other firms) so I have some comparison My only comment, and this is just advice, not to take away from Marion’s hard work at all; but just double check the completion statement as there was an oversight on my figures. I do imagine this was just a typo tho as absolutely everything else was spot on

Liza Jary has just completed the purchase of a property for me and I cannot praise her too highly. She was efficient, fast and I trusted her completely. She answered any queries immediately and on the day of completion sent me an email at 0835 to say that the monies were being transferred to the vendor's solicitors. This was followed by another email a couple of hours later to say that the keys were ready to be collected. The transaction turned out to be rather more complicated than anticipated and she had to charge more than the original quote but I felt that the increase was quite justified and overall the fees were very reasonable given the amount of time involved. I haven't met her (I live in Hampshire) but I have spoken to her on the telephone and she was very pleasant. I was a solicitor myself many years ago and I would recommend her to anyone wanting a really good conveyancing solicitor whose charges represent excellent value.

In short, I do recommend FJG as they did get the job done in the end, in what was a nightmare of a house purchase that ended up lasting a year. However what let me down was the poor customer service from the solicitor dealing with the transaction, Mike Theeman. I do not solely blame him as clearly he is so overworked and they are so understaffed that he simply did not have time to speak to us. We had to chase non stop for updates, and often when we did finally get an update it was a brief one line email. He would never speak to us on the phone when we called, we only ever spoke to him once or twice and the conversations were literally 30 seconds long as it seems he cant wait to get off the phone to us. He never once picked up the phone and called us to update us on what was going on. He also hung up on our broker when he called to speak to him. He was very stand offish and sometimes rude in emails to us, which is simply not good enough when you are paying a lot for their services. I work in a similar industry so I know what to be expected of a solicitor, and in this instance we were let down.
