I engaged the services of Miss Reardan, Askews Legal LLP, to help me reach a divorce related financial agreement acceptable to the court. This included the completion of a financial order and gaining approval of that order by the court. I dealt with the court directly on other aspects of the divorce. Miss Reardan was happy to work with me in this way. All my dealings with Miss Reardan were during the pandemic which meant we never met face to face, mostly communicating by email, letters and the very occasional telephone conversation after an initial video call. This worked very well. I found the advice given by Karen to be clear and very helpful. Questions were generally answered promptly, the very few exceptions occurring when she was supporting other clients in court which is totally understandable and acceptable. The pension on divorce expert engaged by Miss Reardan to calculate an appropriate pension split was equally efficient, cooperative and clear in their communication and final report. Miss Reardan and other Askews staff have always been very polite, straight forward and supportive towards me. Payment was requested and paid monthly, with an updated estimate every month showing what the likely overall spend would be. I found this worked well with no shock at the end. I employed Askews Legal LLP services after seeing an advert saying they specialised in the financial aspects relating to divorce. Overall, I am very pleased with their services and would recommend them to others in similar circumstances to mine.

Brilliant service from start to finish! I was a first time buyer, rather apprehensive about the process to begin with and needed a firm who would guide me through the conveyancing process. Askews did exactly that, and exceeded my expectations having heard of the general conveyancing horror stories from friends and family! (no horror stories about Askews!) I was looked after by Pardeep who handled my case from start to finish, unlike some other firms who may switch solicitors inbetween/during their holidays etc. Pardeep was incredibly responsive to all my calls and emails - I never once felt like I couldn't get hold of him, like I was asking silly questions (there was alot of questions from me!) or as though I was out of the loop. This team were working hard behind the scenes cause I didn't have any hiccups from my side whatsoever. Everything just happened like clockwork! However, the process took alot longer than it needed to but this fault was on my seller's side and his seller's side, and their solicitors' failures to action requests on time, taking almost a week to turn queries around, essentially going around in circles and making us doubt how they even qualified for their jobs! If I were to buy or sell a property in future, I'd want to ask the other parties who their solicitors are and do some research (on Google reviews etc) as the firm that my seller and his seller chose were just beyond awful! Albeit, alot of this was dealt with by Pardeep and his team, though I did stay in touch with my seller to help push things along (2 pronged approach!) I think everyone will have a different experience depending on which solicitor they're assigned, their particular case etc but my experience with the firm has been nothing but fantastic! Will definitely return again for any future conveyancing needs and won't hesitate to recommend the firm and Pardeep to friends and family! Should also note, the final bill was more or less the quotation amount (slight difference because of some changes I'd made), and I did find Askews was ever so slightly dearer than the other firms I got quotes from, however for the professional, attentive and thorough service I'd received, it was worth paying that little bit extra.

If I was to sell again, this is not a company I would jump to use. We bought a house in Leeds a few months and used a Leed's based solicitors. Despite being a small firm, they had an online dashboard which showed progress, each time I called with questions, everyone I spoke to was able to help and give me updates (so they must have had a great filing system). ID&V was performed via an app meaning that we didn't need to take anything in to their office. All great stuff. Askews was not that. Each time I called for updates the first person couldn't help me and the person I needed to speak to was rarely available. Often with no call back. Despite me having moved out of Coventry, and having told them this info when I signed up, I still needed to go to the Cov office to show my ID&V, that's ok I guess but when you know there's other options, it's a little frustrating. When I did speak to someone, and asked for info to be sent over, it would often be late in the day. When it came close to completion, I was asked when I could be in the office to sign the paperwork. This was thursday the 2nd, looking to complete on the 8th Dec. Not being anywhere near Coventry that was a non starter for me. Instead I asked if they could send me the contract and I would sign in front of a witness. Ok, they said, provided that the signed contract was back with them by Tuesday 7th. Was I told I could be emailed a copy for me to print? No. Did they send the paperwork first class or recorded delivery? No. Did they send the paperwork second class which arrived on the 7th Dec? Yes. Because of that poor service, I had to urgently request the contract on email (which took an hour to send), take time off work, run around to get a witness signature, take their ID back to my home, get it photocopied and send the contract back via guaranteed next day delivery. Lost income with work and a £22 postage cost that should that should never have happened. Chose Askews if you wish, some of the reviews do look positive, just be wary that you are unlikely to get the service offered by some of the better solicitors.

The only thing I didn't like about the whole process is how 'online' the initial forms are; for someone without a scanner (to scan in all documents) and computer knowledge I think this would be very hard to complete.
