R. C.Just sold my property with Gilson Gray Glasgow. I can't personally speak on Gilson Gray as a whole, but I had a great experience with my specific solicitor Amy. Amy was friendly, extremely responsive and made the process as stress free as possible for me. I would give Amy herself a 5 star review.
I have knocked one star of off my review as I had an issue at the start of the process (before Amy was assigned to me) due to an ambiguous statement in Gilson Gray's conveyancing timeline, which breaks down the selling process for clients. The timeline states;
"once you have accepted an offer on your home this will be passed on to us by your estate agent. We will then call you to take your full instructions on the conditions of the offer- this should not take more than 15 minutes."
This means that the phone call itself should not last more than 15 minutes but this statement is ambiguous and I fully believed that it meant that it would not take them more than 15 minutes to call me, once I had been passed on to them by my estate agent.
It took 14 days for me to receive this call, and so I was very anxious and stressed for 14 days, thinking I was being ignored. I emailed Gilson Gray after 9 days to try and find out when I would receive the call. I was told that they would chase this up for me, but they didn't give me any follow up email and they ignored my later email asking if there was an update on them chasing this up. This led to me calling the office, and the woman I was put through to me was quite rude, telling me "I don't know why you've been put through to me, I'm not handling your case."
Whilst I appreciate that I am the one who misinterpreted the text (it really is ambiguous though), my issue is that my email was ignored and that I was spoken rudely too when I called the office.
Anyway, I eventually received my call from my solicitor Amy, and everything was great from then on out.
h.The firm were very professional - they provided a great service from start to finish - Would definitely use again and fully recommend to anyone thinking of using them.
