Fantastic service and would highly recommend. My wife and I prepared our wills with McClure Solicitors as part of their free will and charitable donation service (Will Aid). We were originally slightly concerned about using a free will service however these were unjustified and the service we received was highly professional and very efficient. We didn't know what information we required or even questions we had to ask ourselves however the advice we received addressed this and was very thorough. My wife and I required mirror wills and the wills were drafted and finalized over two meetings over Zoom. Overall feel very satisfied!

Appointments were all on line and always on time, the service was friendly yet professional and as first timers to will writing everything was explained to us really well. My wife and I recently executed our wills through the offices of McClure Solicitors. Overall we are very happy, Irene Mackenzie was helpful and efficient, she described the options and process very clearly and was not at all ‘pushy’. The matter was dealt with in the space of two phone calls including the formal signing which was accomplished in compliance with procedures permitted under the Covid-19 restrictions. The only slight glitch was a delay in our receipt of the executed documents however after enquiring they arrived a couple of days later.

I contacted McClure solicitors having seen their offer on the St Oswald’s Hospice website to make wills free of charge and to give a donation to the hospice. This coincided with my wanting to make a new will and, even though I no longer live in the North East, I was keen to support St Oswald’s. Following subsequent and very helpful conversations with Irene McKenzie, I chose to go down a different route to a standard will. It may still be logical for me to use the company again even though I don’t live locally. In fact the past year of lockdowns and increased use of virtual meetings means that the physical location of service providers such as yourself may be less important than before. The only reservation I have about our interactions is that the process of drafting, confirming, witnessing signatures and receiving a signed copy of my document did seem unduly protracted – especially as it wasn’t especially complex. Also, It would have been helpful to have been told how long each stage was going to take rather than my having to chase up this information en route.

They have provided us with additional advice regarding our futures and despite the pandemic restrictions were efficient and responded appropriately to our needs. I was also pleasantly surprised by how staff utilised technologies to help with progressing our requests. I think their use of WhatsApp video was innovative and a delight. Needed to sort out my Will and Power of Attorney. I did this through the free Wills scheme leaving a token legacy to Macmillan Nurses. Due to Covid-19 this was done over Zoom. Gregg McGeoch who dealt with my will was great so asked him to organise Power of Attorney. Everything was made clear and surprisingly pleasant much easier than I had anticipated. The service was value for money and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Gregg and McClure Solicitors.

The idea of making a Will can be daunting but I can have nothing but praise for McClure Solicitors as they made the whole process seem easy. We were thinking it would be easier to understand, asking questions etc, doing everything in a face to face appointment but we pleasantly surprised as it was all able to be done via a phone call. This was more convenient as my husband didnt have to be taking more than necessary time of work for it to be done. Any questions were explained/answered in simple easy ways to understand, not Solicitor jargon. The whole process was quick and straightforward. We were kept informed every step of the way. We found out about McClure's due to McMillan Cancer Charity Free Wills. It's a great service to use, the only requirement was to leave a donation to Charity - any Charity of your choice, didn't have to be McMillan. Would happily, and have done so already, recommend to anybody to use.

An okay experience overall, as things finally worked out in the end. A thing to note though, is that the service was very slow. I guess that a lot of companies like this - companies that handle trusts - are very happy to keep their hands on any money for as long as possible... so that they can gain interest on it. I think that they are slow to respond to emails and phone calls for this reason. Other reviews seem to bear this out. Another negative for my family was the person that sets up trusts for this company - Rob Abell of Will Planning Solutions in Leicestershire. He is a charlatan and very untrustworthy. I know of 6 Trusts wills that he's written and 5 of them should never have been written, as he took advantage of vulnerable people and has heavily contributed to dividing families. Anyway, McClure Solicitors are mediocre.
