I was involved in protracted actions using a solicitor firm in Orkney which was making no progress. I moved to Thompson Family Law and a difficult and complex case which had stalled and was making no progress was transformed completely. Everything went the way I needed it to. It was no more expensive than using an Orkney solicitor, but the progress and success Michael has brought me just doesn't compare. These things are difficult and emotional at the best of times. If you engage fully and listen to all the advice, following it to the letter, he can change your world. To those reviewers unwilling to pay, that's a decision you've made. To those complaining about not being able to contact them, have you tried phoning? I've never felt let down. This firm has approached my case with the same passion and determination I have. Use Thompsons and do what they say. Everything can be better if you do. I only regret not using them from day one.

Johnny is a miracle worker! I petitioned for divorce in England and my husband immediately responded with a petition in Scotland. As we last lived together there I knew that the law was clear that the petition should proceed in Scotland. But with two small, sickly children, two jobs, two elderly parents with health problems (with whom we live) plus Covid-19, it would not have been possible for me to get to the north of Scotland from the south of England for court hearings. I was still traumatised from my abusive marriage, and very very anxious that the court might order me to do the impossible. I also wanted the proceedings to go ahead in England as I knew I would get a better outcome financially here. Johnny responded to my initial on-line enquiry almost instantly with a phone call. He explained clearly and reassuringly what I needed to do next and I felt I was in safe hands. Before the jurisdiction hearing he was realistic and warned me not to get my hopes up as he certainly couldn't guarantee a successful outcome. So when he rang to tell me that he had written a persuasive document for the judge and his arguments had won the day, I was overjoyed and so relieved. I can't thank Johnny enough. He is clearly a busy and ethical solicitor as another may have tried less hard in order to keep the work for himself in Scotland. I will be forever grateful and highly recommend him to anyone needing a family solicitor, especially for a difficult case.

Mr Thompson took my case on, at short notice, after my previous lawyer withdrew. It was a case involving child custody and child relocation. It was a hugely stressful time in my son and I's life but as soon as Mr Thompson took me on he completely filled me with confidence. He was matter of fact and straight to the point. He has a great knowledge of the law memory for specific acts and this was even acknowledged by the opposing lawyer during the hearing. The opposing lawyer took days with long, drawn out cross examination and Mr Thompson stuck straight to what was important and was extremely efficient. I think he also impressed the judge in this regard. I won my case thanks to Mr Thompson. My son now stays with me primarily. He's not being removed from his home. For the first time in about two years I can sleep.
