Eileen Butcher at Anglia Research and Nicki Brumby at Wolsey Probate were very pleasant and most helpful to deal with. My first thought was "is this for real?", yes it was, plus our file was really old requiring a lot of work. They always answered promptly and I would highly recommend them.

He turned my query round and provided me with the information I required in under an hour! Extremely grateful for the result. Process is still ongoing but overall very poor communication after sign up. No updates on progress or key events; no notice that lead contact had changed; no contact on who or why a Personal Representative had been appointed or what their qualification for the role was. Nobody has checked all relatives have been contacted. Information only given when chased and then we have to exchange information amongst ourselves and sometimes that has been conflicting. Very unimpressed. Updated 4th June - was contacted by the Chief Executive and now received the family tree. I have uplifted the rating to three stars to reflect the receipt of the family tree and because they made the effort to contact me from the review. My main criticism about lack of an update remains but they have said they will consider this.

I first became aware of my Great Aunt's unclaimed estate and her complex case when Anglia Research contacted me in 2012. It seemed an impossible task to navigate the many twists and turns of her mysterious background to the satisfaction of the Government Legal Department, but Anglia said they were prepared to persist with it on my behalf at all costs, and persist they did, all the way to the High Courts. I never thought her estate would turn out so favourably for us as her distant family, but the many years of very hard work and determination by Anglia Research eventually proved beneficial to myself, my brothers and our families. I wish on behalf of my Great Aunt's relatives to thank everyone at Anglia Research for their efficiency and all the tremendous hard work and hours that they put into this long and very complicated case. On receiving a letter from Eileen Butcher at Anglia Research I had no experience of heir hunters so I looked online to see what to expect. There were a lot of stories of people's experiences, but fortunately Eileen was better than anything I'd seen described. Braced to be wary about being grilled for information, Eileen gave information rather than interrogating me. She was polite and shared an amazing amount of information about my family, some of which was either new to me or had been long forgotten. The whole process was explained to me clearly, along with timescales and a copy of the family tree was made available to me at the end. If you are contacted by this company while I am sorry for the loss you must have suffered, but you will be in the best hands.

We, as executors of a will here in the U.K. needed a bankruptcy search made in Sweden as one of the beneficiaries resides there. Our solicitor knew nothing about how to achieve this and we eventually had advice from Which legal helpline, that there were private companies that offer this service. After many phone calls to companies offering this service, in which I was given conflicting information, told a variety of differing requirements and quoted seemingly exorbitant sums, I eventually spoke with Emma at Anglia Research, who made it sound straightforward and quoted by far the lowest fee. I wouldn't necessarily always go with the lowest quote but she inspired confidence in their service and the end result has been received with none of the complications suggested by the other companies I had contacted, and in fact dealing helpfully with an issue due to insufficient information provided by us. What wonderful service!
