Andrew Blinkhorn was fantastic! he supported me through a very tricky situation with a tennant who was refusing to move out of my property. He is very knowledgeable and I was really pleased with the way he guided me out of this very tricky situation. Following a recommendation to John Bailes of Bailoran Solicitors, i spoke to him regarding a rather complex matter. We spoke for almost an hour! and he give me what seems to be honest pragmatic advice, unlike other solicitors i have spoken to about the same situation. He told me what steps need to be taken before someone like him is instructed (in other words he was telling me your wasting your money until you do such and such). Some of the pragmatic approaches that were discussed were definitely very strategic approaches to what are a very unique and unusual set of circumstances. He did not seem daunted about matters. During our discussion, not once did he mention his costs, unlike some solicitors who charge you fortunes to tell you what you already know. Would highly recommend him.

I spoke to John today and he was an absolute breath of fresh air. He was incredibly helpful and shared so much of his knowledge (which was vast) in the 30 minutes we spent on the phone (for which there was no charge)... he said he could act on my behalf, but also said I could maybe fight my own case, if I felt confident enough to, and offer the fee I would have paid to him as settlement to the party who are pursuing me instead, to minimise my loss as much as possible. I couldn't believe his generosity and honesty ! He spoke really plainly and explained things with great analogies. I had spoken to another solicitor last week and it was clear that he was being vague about my legal position and strength of case - he was being positive enough to make me believe he could win my case, but negative enough to try to make me think I couldn't do it without paying him to fight it for me (but couldn't tell me how much this could be). John was the total opposite of this shark - it was like talking to a friend, or a really good advice line - he just told me where I stood and what the real risks and possible outcomes might be, good, bad and unknown. I just can't recommend him highly enough... I've not had a lot of dealings with solicitors (but I don't rate the one acting against me, or any of the ones who have acted for me in property purchases in the past, or the shark I spoke to last week) but John and his team have been brilliant. I may not use his services on this occasion (if I can get the case dropped based on his advice I won't need to), but I know that if I, or anyone I know, needs a solicitor in the future then he is the man to go to. I have written this review because I want to repay him for his time today and to let him know how valued and refreshing his approach is. Thanks so much John ! x

Andrew’s succinct and well-worded e-mail convinced a care worker and her builder husband to pay back the money they owed me which they had been refusing to pay for twelve months. They got it Saturday, the money hit my account by Sunday. Not only did I get my money back, but they will never again assume that an old half-blind lady with no family to support her is just there to be rooked. They are likely to think twice now that Andrew has outlined the probable consequences of such action should we have taken them to court and made their behaviour public.
