Professional defence attorney with knowledge and experience Karol Hart, from Freemans Solicitors, got me through the most horrific chapter in my life and back on my feet. I am only writing this anonymously to make sure my first and last run in with authorities stays private. I started my legal issues with solicitors who were not professional, non caring, and only interested in money. They didn’t have my back and were not supportive of me in any way. Unfortunately, my initial solicitors lead me into deeper trouble due to a lack of knowledge and professionalism. In the end I had to call upon the professionalism of Feemans Solicitors to help rectify the terrible state of affairs my first solicitors had got me into. From the minute I spoke with Karol Hart at Freemans Solicitors he imbued trust, knowledge and professionalism (something my previous solicitor had not done in the least). Karol and I had a few phone conversations and then he supported me and guided me through my sentence hearing. Unfortunately we didn’t win the initial case due to the poor representation I had from my previous solicitors, however Karol was able to decrease the sentencing for me. Karol felt with the right representation I could have won my case and therefore advised that I should appeal. Karol supported me in my appeal with the Crown Court and again showed nothing but the qualities of a knowledgeable, experienced and skilled defence attorney. I found the Crown Court experience to be intense but Karol was the ultimate in professionalism and he secured a full dismissal of my case as the final outcome! I couldn’t believe what had happened - he took a bad situation, perpetrated by inexperienced and unprofessional solicitors, and turned it around to a full dismissal!! Following that I went to two solicitors on separate occasions to help with my complicated case of having a limited company and being a director. I had a difficult case, with multiple parties involved and to add to this I was in the US West coast throughout the whole ordeal - an 8 hour time zone difference! As a longstanding member of various groups for those maintaining their innocence of sexual offences I cannot recommend Freemans highly enough for their record of stellar work and client care. Sadly, I have witnessed many who complain about their representation which is not the case with Freemans who always work hard to achieve the right results. What police station representative Harvey Fox doesn't know can be written on a postage stamp and I have yet to see trial solicitor Paul Legg lose a case. When I was refused LA, Harvey Fox stepped in. He was told my salary and stated that I WAS eligible for it. That, in turn, led me to be sitting in Paul Legg's office - not yet granted LA- but with him asking extremely pertinent (and sometimes painful) questions. He knew everything and it shows the good relationship he has with Harvey in that he did not question whether I would get LA, he assumed I would. Paul is both a barrister and a solicitor but he preferred not to present my case at court but enlisted another barrister with whom he has a good working relationship and (he felt) could present better than he. Eventually we lost the case and the opposition costs were £4.6k which I am still paying. I was in a court well known for being over sympathetic to the police so we were really on a hiding to nothing but I can say, hand on heart, that - in my opinion- there was nothing more that either Harvey or Paul could have done. I'm with CCRC now and if I get to go back to CoA then I know on whose door I shall knock.
