Slightly apprehensive at first doing everything remotely and online but I needn't have worried. GD Property Solicitors (Taimoor) were brilliant. The communication was always regular and clear (mainly via email but the occasional phone call too when appropriate). Right from my initial contact where the process was explained I felt I was in safe hands. Most of the documentation was done online, including digital signatures, with just a few of the documents needing to be sent/received by post. There was an added complexity due to the property in probate and the need to transfer the leasehold, but this was all managed without drama. I have used GD before handling the sale of my deceased parent's property in 2020 and they were very efficient, approachable and professional. So I had no hesitation in using them again, when sadly I had to manage the sale of my deceased brother's house who passed this year. I knew they were very busy when they took on the case, as advised by a partner, and was prepared for it. Generally the experience, particularly the final completion were good, however, they unnecessarily spent over 5 weeks getting the original Contract prepared once Sale details were notified which delayed the e2e process. I believe this was due to changes of personnel - there have been 3 assistants managing my case but I wasn't told the first had left until I raised the delay. However, when James and then Taimoor took over, I was very happy with their service and we were able to reach a satisfactory outcome. I would certainly recommend using them, and if not for the initial issues would rate 5 out of 5.

I very rarely leave reviews but this one has to be left as their member of staff, Jaya Varsani, has been superb. I used GD Property Solicitors for the sale of my house. I was sceptical at first as their charges were so reasonable plus they would not charge if the sale fell through. It all seemed to good to be true compared compared the other quotes I received from my local Solicitors. I was originally due to exchange in December 2021 however there were issues with our buyers buyer and the purchase of a shared ownership property in the chain. Things dragged on between our buyers solicitor and the solicitor for the purchase of their property but despite this I was keen to hold on and sell to our buyer as they were such a pleasant couple. Despite all the constant Legal wrangles between their solicitors, Jaya kept on top of things throughout and kept me informed of the current situation almost daily until finally the exchange and completion took place yesterday. Jaya went way and beyond with his contact with the other Solicitors and he definitely shared my frustration throughout. I recently completed the sale of my property using GD legal and wanted to share my experience. I had appointed another conveyancing firm at the start of the process who after 1 month hadn't even even sent out basic paperwork. Given that I don't live in the UK and my buyers were going crazy this posed an extra challenge and I needed to appoint some as a matter of urgency to get this moving quickly so I chose GD based on reviews. From start to finish the process has been absolutely flawless and something I've never experienced with conveyancing firms and I've bought and sold a lot of houses over the years. My contact at GD was Aleena and she was literally brilliant and saved my sale from falling through. On the day of instruction after a quick phone call explaining the urgency, all paperwork was sent out within a few hours and my sale progressed further in half a day then it had in a month with the other firm. Throughout the process, Aleena was always highly efficient, always responds very quickly and made selling a house from the other side of the world a very stress free experience from me. I'd highly recommend this firm without question and will be using them to purchase another rental property later in the year and will also be asking for Aleena specifically to deal with my conveyancing.

I have always believed that most solicitors or conveyancing companies charge far too much for their services and as I was selling some land which we owned outright this transaction would be fairly simple as it entailed changing ownership of the land to the buyer. GD Property Solicitors offered me a very good price for their services which should have taken literally a few weeks to complete. However, the buyer's solicitors proved to be an absolute nightmare. They allocated a staff member to deal with the buyer and she just did not know what she was doing. Another person took over who was just as bad as she did not seem to know anything about conveyancing. There was one delay after another and weeks went by with no movement. Sophie Shaw at GD Property was dealing with our sale and she was so patient and helpful and tried everything she could to speed things up. At one point we were going to cancel the sale as we became more frustrated by the buyer's solicitors coming up with queries which they should have known the answers to. They implied we were responsible for services to the site, arranging a postal address and then queried about access to the site which they insisted was not provided by the council planning office and therefore the land was valueless. Then they questioned the dimensions of the site despite providing them with a plan showing the dimensions signed by the buyer and ourselves. All this took months yet GD Solicitors behaved impeccably throughout and I still paid the agreed fee which would not have covered all the hours they worked on this transaction. I will be using them when we sell our house and purchase another. Definitely recommend them.

I was very wary about using a conveyancing firm that I discovered via a conveyancing 'price comparison' site. Like many people I was born and bred to believe that a local, high street firm was the only sensible way to deal with a property sale. However, three things happened which made me take a punt... 1. The price difference (less than half the price quoted by my local firm, too big a saving to ignore) 2. A very poor experience I'd just had with a local firm and 3. (this is what swung it) when I emailed GD an initial query about their services at 10pm on a Sunday evening, I got a reply from Lewis straight away, followed by a very helpful call the following day. I was assigned to Asma who was fantastic throughout. She answered queries quickly and kept me up to date often. The technology meant that distance wasn't a problem and as the Corona crises struck half way through, the fact that systems were all set up to process paperwork digitally meant that my sale was practically unaffected. There was a bit of drama on completion day (due to the other party's solicitor) but it was all dealt with superbly by the GD team and the sale went through on the expected date with hardly anything needed from me. The whole process was speedy, friendly, calm and cheap... I would use them again in a heartbeat.
