My review is for one particular individual at HH that really turned around what was quickly becoming a poor experience. We used HH for a house sale but as we got close to completion, I discovered that both members of staff that were dealing with my case were off and nobody had been assigned to get this over the line. Nipa at HH stepped and, despite having no knowledge of the case, really took ownership of the issues to the point of working late into the evening on a number of occasions to ensure the chain didn't collapse. I would use again but only if I had the same case handler - genuinely couldn't have asked for more from her.

Despite what felt like a mad rush at the end of the process after relative quiet and a minor miscommunication Hannah completed on the purchase of our new home in 2 months. The firm uses a good and proactive tool to visually manage the stages of progression through the property sale. However, due structural changes at the time of my process, the use of Hoowla was somewhat hindered and was not fully utilised until I spoke with the solicitor, (and the associate solicitor who changed in the early stages of the sale) about why this was not being used. This was a particular issue at first as they also add the sales progressor from the estate agent and the mortgage broker onto the case, and Hoowla would be the only visual update of the progress. Once I knew who was directly linked with my sale and I reminded them that I regularly reviewed Hoowla, it became a much more integral piece of the process. Because of the changes taking place, the associate solicitor on my case who was also the more visible party was not clear to me until approximately 8 weeks in, by which point I was concerned about the lack of progress. Further to this, the very limited access to the main solicitor on my case was a problem. Either the direct line did not connect or there was no answer, and the switchboard could not find them to take my call. However, once I confirmed the associate solicitor, the process was much clearer, although still sluggish. It was made clear to me that there were other 3rd parties involved and this hindered things, but sometimes the updates were lacking. As the case did move along and I got more determined to keep on top of the sale, the Associate Solicitor took responsibility for the contact and moved things along. Considering I initiated the purchase of my property in mid April, there was no chain and both sides just wanted things done, the sale did not finalise until early October. I believe that Hennah Hayward have good intentions, but on a number of occasions, it was clear that they commit to too much work, by utilising too many quotation portals to bring in cases. As such with the Stamp Duty deadlines, it was clear that because of the lower value of my case to them, I got buried each time there was a stamp duty deadline and this was very frustrating. The firm has all the right pieces and simply need to reposition to a people over process attitude from the very beginning, and not towards the end when the client begins to lose their temper towards the end. Overall those involved in my case were polite and empathetic, but were held to their processes which hindered the customer satisfaction.

What a rollercoaster with this firm. A couple of team members are wonderful, helpful, kind and go the extra mile. Some however, unfortunately, are not. My case was made incredibly stressful by a couple of members of staff and even after completion (4 weeks after) I was still dealing with incompetency from some of the team. How someone who’s sole job it is to request funds can make an error of over £1000 I do not know. Be careful who your case gets assigned to, and if in doubt ask to be transferred to another team member immediately as the bad ones (with a really stinking attitude) really can ruin your house buying journey. I am and was exhausted by CHLaw for the majority of my journey with them and unfortunately would not recommend. It would seem they are incredibly overwhelmed. My third star is purely for Alice. Without her this would be a 1 star review and a much more strongly worded cautionary review.

This is 100% honest review!!!. My overall reviewed was based on the end with Rebecca and her team get 5 star review. At the start, Amy (solicitor) and her team where brilliant, however things changed when Amy was unavailable. My case was left for 5 weeks and i heard zero from this company and trying to speak to them was impossible saying they would call back but didn't. I could be waiting over an hour for an answer or the phone would constantly cut out. Trying to get a response from emails was like trying to get blood out of a stone! i was then told that Amy was unavailable i was then informed she had left, then that she was sick but back, to then she has left again. I was taken on a very emotion roller coaster ride for 5 weeks! My case was left and trying to speak to someone was impossible. Then lucky i spoke to a lovely bloke called Leuan who gave me his contact number (mobile) and helped as much as he could and tried to get answers for me asap. I then had a new solicitor who i could never speak to or get hold of and once again was left in a very emotional state and at high risk of losing my house. Then the break through happened i had a new solicitor, Helena who took over and got straight to work to get me ready for exchange and completion, date where set for 30th of September she sorted this all out in a matter of 2 weeks if that. However out of no where i was made away that Helena was on leave so had to have a new solicitor, which got me panicking massively. The exchange and completion date 30th September came and i was sat waiting may i add with lack of sleep and still in an emotional state from this rocky service i have been experiencing. I received a call from my new solicitor Rebecca, she was not made aware of my exchange and completion date being 30th she called me as soon as she was free and explained the situation but reassured me that her and her team would get on the case now. But due to my emotions and worry I felt destroyed and was in such a state i called my mortgage advisor in tears and upset that he got involved. Rebecca was amazing at handling my emotional state and trying her best to reasure me down the phone and throughout every email she sent me. I still dont know to this day how Rebecca and her team got my exchange and completion done on 1st of October Rebecca communication was amazing she kept me in the loop with what was going on etc. No matter what i wanted to ask her i could and i felt like i could trust someone in the firm again. Rebbeca worked all day and evening with her assistant Caroline and then i got the call from her saying i have completed that i screamed yes down the phone to her with happiness and excitement that im sure the hole office heard. If it wasn't for Rebecca and her team i would of lost my home. I instructed this firm on 26th of May and didn't complete til 1st of October. I am a first time buyer, shared ownership buying a new built house this shouldn't of taken over 4 months to conplete. Rebecca restored my faith in solicitors and saved my home and the star rating i done is for Rebecca and her team. I know this company has suffered alot the past few months but how i was treated before Rebecca and Helena was unbelievable and completely wrong!. I just hope this company learns from the mistakes made and honestly if it wasn't for Rebbeca and her team who worked around the clock for my case i would of lost my house. They saved my home. I will be forever thankful to them. I just wish i had her from the start. If you see this Rebecca i am honestly forever grateful. Would i recommend this company i don't know, would i recommend and use Rebecca and her team again YES!!! but sadly i dont think you get a choice on who is your solicitor. I have based my star rating on the end rather then the issues that occurred.
