After discussing the matter a proposed plan of action was put in place and swiftly acted upon. All correspondence between parties we’re acknowledged and updates given every step of the way . I cannot recommend Michael Phillips highly enough. My family and I were recommended Michael when my situation was dire and we felt hopeless. I was facing a complex case with a custodial sentence likely (3-5 years). My wife and I drove to meet him in his Reading Office, a 4 hour round trip, to discuss the situation. Anonymous Review For us the best part about having Michael was his Christian faith. His insight into crime is not merely educated but greatly informed by the timeless truths of the Bible. My sibling who had been brought up going to church had in recent years gone back on his faith and eventually found himself on the wrong side of the law following a night of heavy intoxication. We transferred from legal aid lawyers to privately paying Michael, via recommendation from a mutual Christian friend. Michael's advice all throughout was spot on and he managed our expectations from the start. The advice on each of the character statements was excellent. He managed to handle both the litigation and advocacy, keeping us in touch and involved throughout. Legal assistants also very helpful inc Kelsey and Domas. On the day of the hearing, the prosecution appeared very arrogant and really wanted a sentence of life or something in the 20s. The Barrister's cross examination and submissions appeared very insincere and hateful, but the Judge saw through it all. This is a very experienced crown court judge who is well known for his highest view on honesty and integrity. Unlike the CPS Barrister, Michael presented very calm, articulate, realistic and genuine. His questions to the expert painted all the necessary pictures for the Court. The outcome was more than what could be expected in the type of case we faced. Even now we are still shocked with wonder. The judge agreed with our case as set out by Michael. After hearing both prosecution and Police officer were seething, but Michael remained unashamed to represent us.

In 2013 I was falsely accused while publicly proclaiming the Christian gospel message in Basildon, Essex. A young woman took issue with what I was saying and decided to report me to the police, accusing me of using homophobic language against her. I had done nothing of the kind, and was able to prove this as I was mic’d up and everything I said was recorded. Even so, I was arrested, taken to the station, and detained in a cell for almost 11 hours. I was given the right to counsel, and so I contacted Michael Phillips from Andrew Storch solicitors, also representing Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre. Michael fought my case, and I was eventually released late in the night. Had Michael not been successful, I was due to stay overnight in the cell and appear later the next day in court. I was released with the statement that there was insufficient evidence against me. Michael and Christian Concern then continued to fight for me, and in 2015 I was compensated financially for my false arrest. I did not expect this, as I had not pursued compensation. But I gladly received it, for it was just and right that I was compensated for what happened to me, and also it was a victory for free speech and a step in the direction for true, genuine equality. These victories, although small, serve to protect further victims from a political agenda that would elevate one man’s opinion and beliefs above one another. Sadly, this is driven to an unjust conclusion, where “tolerance” is no longer true tolerance, but rather, unless you embrace “my views and accept my beliefs,” you are deemed to be an intolerant bigot. I am so grateful to both Christian Concern (and the Christian Legal Centre), as well as Andrew Storch Solicitors for all they did for me, and for what they continue to do to protect our freedoms in our world today.
