I recently inherited an old Kay & Co pocket watch that originally belonged to my great-grandfather, dating back to the 1890s. I wanted to give the watch a bit of a face lift due to the front glass being cracked and the face looking a bit grotty. I put this into Nick and his team and was instantly put at ease with their professionalism and knowledge, especially given this sort of repair might not be the most routine. Nick kept in contact throughout the repair process to let me know what was happening. He understood and respected the sentimental value of this watch, and treated it with great care. Nick replaced the front glass, and was able to replace the hoop/bow on the top of the watch as well, as the original one was cracked and held together with a small piece of wire. Overall, the work was excellent. They could have charged me a lot more! I'm delighted with the service and wouldn't hesitate to use Adams again, and recommend to anyone in need of watch repair. Thank you Nick!

After being looked down on by the local Breitling dealer and aghast by the lead time for a service, I took my watch to AWS on the back of a friends recommendation. The staff were lovely, service was not quick but this is out of their hands but they explained this and the process very well, I received updates throughout and my watch was back working and looking better than new. Sent my Seiko Turtle 200m in for a service. Whilst not a particularly expensive watch, it has huge sentimental value to me. My lad will inherit this particular watch in years to come. I don't like sending it anywhere really!!!! I previously had the crystal replaced for sapphire some years ago, but was unable to get the watch certified to 200m again. Adams were very helpful over the phone, serviced the watch, and tested it back to 200m, with certificate of the service and water pressure test. Great communications throughout, fast turnaround time, and all round good service, thanks! Will definately use again.

Considering the shop really deals in high end watches and I was just in to get a bracelet changed on a Citizen watch I wasn't sure what reception I would get. I was treated with absolute curtesy and Kayleigh was friendly, professional and helpful, she did the change there and then and made absolutely sure I was happy (even making sure to mention that they would do any further changes for free so to keep my receipt). I contacted AWS as ther pin from a VW watch fell out, it fell to the ground, and the bracelet was broken. I was looking to find out if I could have this repaired or replaced; what all the options were after I had been advised by another that a replacement bracelet was only option. I was pretty devastated after a bike accident resulted in me breaking the glass face of my watch. And the misery was only magnified when I learnt that the replacement parts had long since been discontinued. After trawling the jewellers and watch menders, it seemed no one in Swindon felt particularly interested in taking on the 'project' of fixing my timepiece. Whilst it's far from being an expensive watch - it held sentimental value - and so when I saw that Adams Watch Specialist listed Lorus as one of the brands that they'd repair, it felt a little like a prayer had been answered. This feeling was only strengthened when I emailed the shop and received not only prompt responses - but sympathy AND an assertion that it could be fixed. I was hesitant to send my watch all the wat from Swindon to Scotland - but previous testimonials and Nicks kind emails reassured me that - it did not matter if he was fixing a £5 Timex or a Rolex - The same care and respect would be afforded to both. I sent my watch and was notified of it's safe arrival - as well as each stage of the repair. When it was returned - less than a week later - I can not even begin to describe how amazed I was at the level of craftmanship that had gone into its mending. Simply put, it looks brand new - and you would never know it had been so badly beaten up! I emailed Nick and told him how, what he had done, made him feel like a friend to me - and one who had done me an almighty 'forever in your debt' favour! I wish I could shake his hand. To say I recommend his -and his teams - services, is a colossal understatement. His work is noting short of expert - and I'd dare say you would struggle to find a more genuine and meticulous watch repair expert in the UK.

On the very first day since I’ve bought one of my lovely watches somehow managed to hit it and the glass was badly scratched.. But I almost don’t wear it as have a lot more , but when there was time for a battery changed - did the glass too at Adams Watch Specialist. I rang Nick at Adams Watch Specialist and right from the first contact their attention to detail and professionalism was clearly evident. As i live a distance from Aberdeen i was advised to post my watch by Royal Mail special delivery . On receiving my watch at the shop and at every stage of it's repair i was kept up to date with a polite email . Even when the watch left the shop again via special delivery i was advised of the tracking code. At no point did i feel the need to question my judgement in trusting Adam Watch Specialist with my much cherished watch. I contacted Nick and we agreed due to current restrictions that everything would be done remotely. I posted my watch on the Monday and it was returned looking as good as new on the Wednesday. Nick replaced the glass and battery. The week before my wife had her Michael Kors watch crown repaired, new battery fitted and watch cleaned. Had some work done in February on two different Seiko watches. One is a particularly old diving watch (+30 years) that I thought would be impossible to fix as some parts were discontinued in production. Nick went out of his way trying to hunt down these parts and managed successfully. He kept regular contact throughout with progress and I couldn't ask for better service from someone that takes tremendous pride and passion in his work. Couldn't recommend more and would not dream of going anywhere else in Aberdeen for any work required on a watch. Wish you continued success as it is well deserved.

Nick was able to restore my Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay Titanium to perfect condition. Titanium is not like steel or other materials and is very difficult to work with, but I was assured that if it could be done then it would be virtually a first. The numbers on the outer rotating bezel had over the years come off but Nick managed to match the paint and ink and restore to it’s original look. I mean this watch is nearly 17years old and looks like I bought it last week. In addition, I managed to find a vintage Accurist Shockmaster 21 Jewels (1970) from a great online dealer, it needed a case clean, new acrylic case and polish on the back plate. The watch looks impeccable. In addition, Nick managed to run off some performance data as to its time keeping in various positions. All I can say is this, if you need a professional restoration or any work involving your pride and joy, I would go to Adams Watch Specialist, because they are specialists.

I sent the watch back to Christopher Ward for repair but they wanted to charge £165. Nick repaired the watch while we had lunch and only charged £40 plus £5 for a new battery. I would advise anyone with a watch repair/battery replacement to use Adams Watch Specialist - first class service.

Nick is one of the most honest people you could meet. We brought in a Breitling watch which needed to be sent for repair. Unfortunately the spares are no longer available, so Nick took it upon himself to try & repair the watch himself.
