Popped into Halfords enquiring about a kids bike service. Very friendly member of staff called Chris at the Newport Rd Cardiff branch kindly changed brake pads and cables then and there. As they didn’t have the required inner tube in stock, he even helped me select the correct one online. As he was so helpful I will definitely go back. Went in to get some Cataclean and advise. Tim saw me and along with his colleague gave me some excellent tips on how to maintain my car - verbally and with the FOC service check. Hopefully my engine light will go off swn lol and there are some things I wasn't aware of that should get done before my MOT. That's made me feel like Tim cares about safety and his customers. I also bought a blue tooth charger on Tim's advise and he even fitted it for me so now i can listen to my tunes and make / receive phone calls safely whilst not losing any power- didnt even know i could do that! Will defo be going back to sort out out my light and tyre and anything else I may need :D

I went to the store thinking about purchasing a bike. I was met by Marcus who took his time explaining what would suit me. This was very helpful. I did have concerns but he allayed them. He wasn't pushy and I left having ordered not just one bike but 2 and a third a week later. When I collected my bike, everything was in good order. After my first decent ride, I noticed a minor gear issue. I took it back, I was dealt with by Tim. I never usually say this about about Halfords, but what an excellent experience. We came in today to look for bikes for the kids. The one bike we wanted for our daughter was showing as out of stock and the staff said that it cannot be ordered in either from the distribution centre so I asked for the display model. The manager of the store didn’t agree to selling it as they apparently needed the for size guides (even though all the similar bikes were the same size). So I accepted that I could not buy it then found another bike we wanted, to find that the it was the same problem and that we cannot buy it or it cannot be ordered. I the went on the website and shows the staff that it allows me to order the bike to a store then how come they couldn’t do it. The young boy Omar was as frustrated as me as he just really wanted to help and he knew how much we wanted to get the bikes for our children. He then went out of his way to speak with the manager and did not take no for an answer from him. He eventually came back to us to tell us that he convinced his manager to sell us the bike and he even got it for a better price for us and got it assembled fully too. Excellent experience and Halfords have won me back as a customer after a long time

I only just picked this bike up Thursday. The quality of the bike appears good. My bug is with the bike build Halfords offer. This is deceptive. All they did was put the front wheel, pedals and seat on. No proper checks or adjustments were made to the bike (even though they have a check list), as the rear brake was loose, 5 gears were rubbing on the crank adjustment arm and the chain slipped off the crank, after about 1/8th of a mile from shop. I have done this work, as I felt it was pointless taking back. Other than that, all's fine.

I have been served by various members of staff and I have yet to come across one that is less than well mannered, attentive and knowledgeable. Hard to believe that Halfords does so poorly in the Which survey of retailers. Bought electric bikes there in May.
