I have been to your store several times now and i have always found the staff there very helpful but Joe has stood out a few times now, although he will probably remember today. I took advantage of getting him to fit new headlight bulbs as my hands are too big to get behind the headlights. A simple request soon changed into a challenge but he persereved with a can do attitude and went above and beyond in the quest to change to bulbs. Job Well Done Joe! He is a credit to the store!

Meet Joe at the weekend who helped us in our time of need when the gear head game flying off the gear stick of the Motorhome just as I was about to turn right at the roundabout to go City bypass South! He tried several heads and then managed to get the old one stuck on and secure using Gorilla Glue. Joe was very helpful, patient, knowledgeable, reassuring and calm. Just what was needed in our dilemma. Managed to complete our trip away in the camper and felt very secure that the gear head was not going to come flying of again anytime soon. Well done Joe for an excellence service.

Was helped by 2 members of staff, one named Andy who was of great help in checking the availability of a bike we wanted for our daughter and also answering questions I had about my cycle to work scheme voucher. The other member of staff I believe was called Tommy, where do I start with him - He took us through purchasing the bike for our daughter and even after which, we asked a few questions regarding a bike for myself. Although he advised me the bike I had seen in store was only available to order online he took the time out of his day to explain the pro’s and con’s of it, what he recommends, why he recommends it and also why other bikes may not be suitable to what I need / want it for. Excellent service at Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh! Tommy was very helpful and explained several aspects of the bike clearly. Had to return later same day, as front tyre tube had punctured after just 2 miles! He refitted it immediately- although the replacement one exploded in the shop, making his colleague jump out of his skin! So my bike was on its third inner tube by the end of the day!

Visited recently looking for advice on bike racks. A member of staff called Joe was absolutely fantastic from helping me choose the right one to entertaining my two boys with his knowledge of cars and motorbikes whilst he fitted it. Can't fault the technicians who repaired my bike...great job. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.....and, considering I had more or less the whole drive train replaced, it was a decent price. What I wasn't impressed with was having to go through, I believe, an outsourced call centre to phone to see if my bike was ready for collection. After that failed at least twice I had to drive to the store and ask the bike guys in person for an update. And both requests to have the store manager contact me with an update failed...I asked for a call on Sunday there and also an email today.....still waiting.....obviously no need now!!! So, to summarise...bike technicians - great job, thanks. To those in charge....do you actually realise the importance of customer service!! If a customer wants a phone or email response it would be really helpful if you actually did it.

Usually I don't write reviews on Google unless the service is really great or worse. Since this is a bad time around due to COVID-19. I was really struggling to repair my cycle. I visited two shops but they all were showing very busy and had no appointment for 2-3 weeks. When I went to Halfords, they were very welcoming and immediately took my bike for work. Just in 10 minutes they fixed the issue and also did not charged anything. I am highly impressed with the amazing customer service and facility. Keep up the great work! Thank you

I took my bike in for an assessment thinking I would need another appointment for any repairs. However the assistant was excellent and I explained what areas might need looked at. I went away for a coffee, returned after 40 mins and the bike had been assessed and all minor fixes done! Great service. 😊

Prices are high: you might consider euro car parts nearby. They have a good range of car cleaning products. Also of bikes & bike equipment if you're not a super-serious cyclist. Range and price of tools isn't great. Parking is plentiful and there are other useful shops nearby. If you don't fancy shopping around, it can be a good one-stop-shop for general car stuff.

Technician fitted headlamp bulb at a fraction of the cost it would have been at a garage, fiddly access with modern engines everything is so tight fitted and layered on top of each other, never had to open an access panel in the wheel well before!

Well stocked, I regularly stop in the store when I need tools, oil, filters, bulbs, fuses etc. Staff are all friendly and most are helpful, however some are completely clueless when asked about certain automotive products, and will give you a look as if you had just asked them about where to find tartan paint.

After months of research and hopping in and out of many different bike shops in Edinburgh, confused and disappointed, it was only Halfords that were able to guide me very professionally on attaching a child trailer to the bike I chose there. They had to change the axle of my new bike and my husband's old bike so that they both can be attached to a child trailer. They also patiently guided me on many other bike accessories that I needed. Friendly staff and large range of bikes, accessories and bike related products. I have used Halfords for different things in the past and had good experiences but I am writing this review now as I handed my bike in for a brake bleed and gear adjust on the 15th February, I received a phone call on 20th to say needed a new chain, which I agreed to but I have yet to get the bike back and now been told it will be end of the week which will be 2 weeks for a couple of things to be done to it, I am less than impressed so may take elsewhere for a service next time.
