Great shop and with a wide range of motoring and cycling products. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is probably anything you need and the prices are decent. I'm giving 4 stars for now because I haven't tried their services. I'll update when I get the chance.

Fast efficient service, pleasant staff, store was very clean and well organised. Significantly larger selection of cycles and cycling equipment since my last visit. Stock levels were good for the items I wanted. Prices seemed reasonable, if anything lower than pre covid on cycling lights and helmets. Liked that they had varying levels of children's helmets from occasional to serious use.

Fantastic. From child car seat, through wiper blades to microfibre cloths the products are great, the staff are incredibly helpful and the whole experience was a delight. Went to Halfords, Straiton, to buy some car cleaning products, which they had in stock and I have no issues with these products. The main reason for my visit however was to buy a number plate for my new trailer. I needed a square plate for the trailer but the staff said they couldn’t supply square plates at this store. I had bought a square plate at that store previously, so find it strange that a shop should reduce their capability, when most stores these days are looking at ways to increase business rather than reducing it. Got a plate the next day at another retailer, so Halfords lost a sale.

Pleasantly surprised at the speed and efficiency of the fitting team at Halfords Straiton. A cold wet day and going dark and the team had a good few customers to attend to- but I got two bulbs filled and was on my way within half an hour. Visited the straiton store with my daughter to exchange a previously purchased car seat for one with ISOFIX. Store manager at Straiton was really helpful. He asked Kenny to assist us. Kenny was absolutely awesome!! He was knowledgeable, helpful and he fitted the car seat, disposing of the box as requested. Great service. Great ambassador for the store and Halfords. Unlike staff (Tom) in Hermiston Gait who said that Halfords don’t fit car seats and spent 30 minutes trying to find my daughters order! All’s well that ends well. The 2nd visit to Straiton made up for the frustration of the 1st. First appointment - a wasted journey due to a staff oversight resulting in my bike still being in a box, unbuilt. Promises were made to have it done that day but that didn’t happen either apparently because the shop got busy. I was not impressed but on attempt 2, Julia was brilliant. It was like night and day. She was helpful, knowledgeable and attentive so I left feeling excited about the new bike. Rode it home and it is a delight!

We couldn't be happier with Chris who assembled and fitted a bike carrier for our towbar. The whole experience was hassle-free. He also took time to demonstrate all the features of the carrier in an easy friendly manner, prepared and fitted a number plate, tested all the electrics, and made sure we were familiar and confident with the product. Recently visited to purchase wiper blade but confused by selection of different numbers all of which appeared suitable. The experience was good generally. We went to find a bike for my son and we managed to secure one in the first visit and it was reasonable price. Clearly prices have changed alot since I got my bike. The staff were helpful and we managed to complete the purchase on the same visit. Initial assemply has revealed some issue with the front tire which will get attended to at some point.

Halfords at Straiton shopping center, the store where I shot a few bargain purchases. I didn't go shopping there today. My wife's bike, which I bought a year ago, started to malfunction. Went there today on a Sunday a few minutes after 5pm. I expected the bike to stay there until tomorrow, as it is less than an hour until the store closes. I found a polite young girl who only asked what the problem was. She immediately went to work. It didn't bother her that I was standing there watching. She acted quickly and consciously, knowing what she should check to make a proper diagnosis. It was honestly impressive. After a few tests, she found the problem and fixed it in the next few moments. It was obvious to me that I was at fault with the installation of the additional bicycle stand. So I asked for a quote for this repair and found out I had nothing to pay. I also learned that the name of the girl who so quickly and efficiently recognized and fixed the problem is Julia. Daren helped her for a while, because I tightened the screw of the stand very tightly, which had to be loosened during the repair. Daren deserves credit for the physical strength he used to support Julia. It was a fantastic team work. Depending on the availability of the goods I buy at Halfords, I use Straiton, Gyle or Seafields. But mostly Straiton because I live nearby. On Monday I bought a thule roof box there. A week ago, on a Sunday around noon, I was helped by a nice gentleman, whose name I did not write down, but it was he who also helped me throw this box on the roof of my vehicle on Wednesday evening. It was very helpful and gave me important advice that I found very useful. It is very encouraging that you can still meet people who are committed to their work and understand their responsibilities. In addition, they can be above what is expected of them and make people like me always happy to return to the place where such people work ... As of today, if anyone asks me, in Edinburgh I know the following Halfords branches: Julia's Halfords (Straiton of course), Seafields Halfords, etc. My best regards for Straiton Halfords Team, Rafal

Needed a bulb changed in a brakelight, and couldn't get into it to do it myself. Halfords took care of it all within about 15 minutes, no bother at all, and very reasonably priced.

The number plates I went in for are fine, the amount of time you have to wait at the checkout is extraordinary long. Initially I waited around 5-8 mins with 1 person in front of me, I returned for the plates around 1 1/2 hours later, 2 people in front, fine but 5-8 mins again. I know I should be more patient but the flirting and faffing kind of got to me.

Went there today for a tube to remove scratches. Really wasn't sure of my best option but Charlie was not only very helpful but came out to see my car which was parked 75 yards away. He surveyed my problem went back into the shop and returned with a tube of his own Farecla professional scratch remover. He then started rubbing this scratch remover on my car with excellent results. His attitude, effort and professionalism was absolutely superb. I would have no hesitation in recommending him in future.

I've been a few times to get wipers, bulbs replaced they're quite often busy so there can be a wait. Was there today as battery on my car's been acting up, I thought I needed a new one. Guy checked it for me and told me battery was fine but needed charged. I'm not very technical so he explained what id need to do, showed the best charger, saved me £30.

I feel like I need to leave a review after the service I received from Callum at the Bike Hut in this store. I'd bought a bike from Halfords Hermiston Gait. That store was utter rubbish. They handed over the bike and didn't offer any chance to really inspect it. The next day I took the bike 20 miles and the issues just piled up. Chain rub in all gears overtightened brake cables rubbing from the v-brakes. I didn't trust Hermiston Gait so I took it to Straiton Halfords and Callum was superb. I remember his name because it was the sames as mine. He looked over the bike and did more than I'd asked him to do. It was like a new bike when he was done just 10 minutes later. A credit to the store.
