More then helpful. Needed new bulbs as both brake bulbs went at the same time. My dash was only registering the left one which was dim but legal before it went. We discussed the options at the till and the man was very knowledgeable about cars and his job. He then went and fitted my bulbs. It felt like a special service because he was there from start to finish. I feel Halfords have always done a good job every time I have gone in. The one I used was on Putney road. A Massive Thank you!!🙂🙂

Love going here, my girlfriend gets annoyed because I'm in there every week!. They have everything you need for cars, bikes and more. My experience however was short lived when I booked for a "free" 5 point check. There was a girl who conducted the check on my car, she said I needed new headlamp bulbs. I went into the shop and bought the ones she told me I needed. They did not fit as they were the wrong size. I also told her that my wiper was making a noise and she insisted it was fine. My mechanic inspected it a week later and said I was lucky it hadn't been scratching my window! It was worn down completely. Not sure what that was all about but either way those 5 point checks aren't worth the time or effort.

A few weeks ago I brought my lad a bike for Christmas, put it all together and it had 3 problems. I rang the store today, took it in and I wanted to swap it for another bike. Fortunately one member of staff I spoke to was very knowledgeable and helpful. A Godsend for all things CYCLING. I firstly give 5 stars to Aron of store 813; till 003 who asked me to leave feedback. I am still trying to do so! I Stumbled into the Putney Rd store when visiting Homebase next door. As a new cyclist, I wandered in to browse goods and prices and was excited by the range and competitive prices. After visiting other stores and online, I am relieved to have found this store which has everything I need under one roof. In addition to this blessing, a member of staff gave me 20 minutes undivided attention and came outside to see my cycle. He taught me things I did not know and then delighted me by questioning me on all that he had told me (about cycle tyres) to see if I had remembered. Astonishing service, seldom seen these days. Obviously, he was a nice guy and others may not be - but the shop is the place to go for all things cycling: great clothing and accessories also.

I visited Putney Road a few days ago and took advantage of their free 5 point check (battery, windscreen wipers and bulbs). I needed bulbs and windscreen wipers. I was very impressed as the worker explained why I was better off to replace the on opposite side bulb too. Replacement windscreen wiper options were clearly explained and I went for the most expensive for better quality and function. I was very happy young staff who did the replacing they were excellent in all ways. Unfortunately the sales assistant did not call for help when I was unable to access my £10 voucher. Later another worker (could have been a manager) offered to help and quickly sorted it out via his device. If it were not for the sales assistant lacking know how and not getting help immediately I would have definitely given 5 stars. I use the fix and fit service regularly and wil go on doing so and cannot fault it!

I have a 40 year old Porsche and the Halfords battery has been in it for at least a quarter of that time so I needed a new one, car car would only start with a jumper battery. I know I can get Yuasa batteries cheaper at other places but at Halfords the right onw was in stock and at £15 for fitting and disposal of my old one that was booked. The mechanic had and knew how to use the right tools, being very careful with bolts that hadn't moved for 10 years, was friendly, competent and efficient. It saved me driving home, getting tools out, going to the tip afterwards and I'm an amateur car restorer! Delighted, even if I had to pay a few quid more.

I bought 2 dashcams from Halfords recently. They asked me to do a review and I did, but then they sent an email with the following: "Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!" I replied asking what guidelines it didn't meet, but got back "The Domain Name System (DNS) reported that the recipient's domain does not exist". So I'm going to publish what I originally wrote here, unedited (so includes spelling mistakes and typos). You decide why you think it didn't meet their "website guidelines". Here it is: Title - Great feature packed dashcam "I bought a 622GW dashcam, rear window cam and a hardwire kit from Halfords online. All arrived earlier than expected. Fitting is quite easy, although on my vehicle I needed to buy an additional micro fuse tap as the 2 provided in the box, were both too big for my fuse. Getting the dashcam to talk to the MyNextbase Connect app and Alexa app on my Pixel 4XL was straight forward and a dashcam firmware update was found and applied. But the next time I got in the car, neither would connect. simply re-pairing on bluetooth didnt work. I had to reset the dashcam, forget the bluetooth device on the phone, uninstall both MyNextbase Connect and Alexa from my phone. Then start again. This time all worked perfectly and it auto connects every time. I was so pleased with it that I bought the same 3 products again and fitted them to our other car. This time they were not all available online, so I purchase all 3, click and collect from Halfords, Putney Road, Leicester. When I collected, they were all sellotaped together, so I took them home without opening the boxes. Mistake. When home, I removed the tape and on opening the rear camera box, found that it was not new. There was no cable tie around the long cable, which was just hand coiled and the secondard sticky pad in its own plastic bag was missing. I didn't even want to try this camera since its origin was unknown, so I drove back to the shop the same day and asked for a replacement which I got with no problem. Just a shame I had to go back in the first place. I fitted the second kit, had the same bluetooth problem, which was fixed the same way, and we're now very happy with our dashcams. I'd fully recommend the 622GW and rear camera, just be sure you use a good quality high speed microSD card since you could be writing 4 files to it simultaneously (a high-def and low-def file for both front and rear cameras) depending on how you configure it. I used a SanDisk Extreme A2, 160 MB/s, Class 10, UHS-I, U3, V30, 128GB card and it copes no problem."

Bought a car stereo for my new car, I couldn’t get anyone to fit it for me on the day, so I took it home and had a go at doing it myself. Halfway through I realised I didn’t have all the gear to get it working so my partner and I went back to Halfords to get the rest. Whilst there we cheekily asked if there was a chance for the staff to squeeze us in and fit the rest of it for us. Harry was a gem, we waited about 45 mins for him to be free and he got everything we needed and he fitted it perfectly!
