I dropped into Halfords Hedge End today with my bike after the front brake had stopped working. No appointment, no telephone call and no warning that I was coming into the shop. After queuing just a couple of minutes I was served by Josh, one of the Halfords bike mechanics. He was helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable - and fixed my bike immediately on-the-spot. Josh didn’t charge me a penny for doing the work and the bike works perfectly now. Fantastic customer service and a great bunch of lads in the cycle department. Really friendly, welcoming and efficient service as always. Thank you MaS

Nearly always have everything in stock, check the website first to check if they have what you need. Just have to remember it is a convenience store, not an auto-parts shop, so you can’t expect great prices. Although I do think they are reasonable with their own brand items which are decent for the price. The only thing I’d steer away from electronics, unless you want them fitted, they are far cheaper online.

The bulbs were changed as requested. I waited and watched from the shop. When the fitter took my keys he said 'are you happy if I do come extra checks today and check everything else is working?' I responded that I was happy, however the guy did nothing except change the bulb, he didn't even start the engine to see if it worked!

Good store, got the wiper blades I needed which was easy with the look up computer in store. Good helpful service. Only drawback is it shares an entrance with McDonald's so you often have to queue to get in to the car park if your arrival coincides with mealtimes.

I took my car for a tracking check and wheel balance and because I had the wrong parts on it for track rods they kindly pointed it out they couldn't balance the wheels properly so they offered me full refund and advised I see main dealer for the work. So helpful and kind and I had the money refunded 3 days later . Excellent service thanks for the consideration.

Great service, sorted my son's bike out, gave it a quick safety check, new brake pads and cables, adjusted seat and handle bars, plus rear wheel as it was sat to far forward so the chain was loose, all for £29, and it was ready to collect on time, staff helpful, shop nice, tidy and clean, PLUS it's slap bang next to Macdonalds so would have been rude not to pop in there for breakfast seen as we were early 😀, recommend Xx

First class personal service. I went with the intention of buying a particular toddler car seat! Lauren served me and spent time fitting the seat together and then fitting it into the car. Once fitted, I wasn’t entirely happy with the way it sat in my car and Lauren suggested a different type of seat with an isofix fitting! She showed me a range of options and answered all of my questions with a good knowledge! Having decided on a seat, Lauren then got one and fitted it for me, showing the best way to place the child! From start to finish, Lauren showed a -attended and professional, polite attitude. Five Stars! Thank you Lauren!

Parked out side. Went in, found the wiper blade section. Easy to use screen , input your car details, it then tells you which blade will fit. Had a false start, doh. Didn't realise rear wiper blades on the rack behind me. Spoke to a member of staff, who very kindly found the details, then went to the right section. Easy peaky. The fit was very quick. Brilliant service team. Wel done.

Tyres were feeling a bit spongy especially over the sleeping policeman, recently installed. Ten point check done including tyres, wiper blades, oil check and so much more. Special offer this week, so all done for £10. I didn't have to wait long and a full report was emailed to me. Thanks Halfords, brilliant service

In the past may have had reasons to doubt Halfords but not now. Since being back in the UK i have used hedge end store a fair bit. Staff have been very helpful. I notice a few reviews where people moan over literally nothing and conclude some people just want to complain! In particular many shops will have had some issues with supply chain in a pandemic - be reasonable! The overall experience has been good and on occasion staff went further to be helpful and gave a friendly service. well done.

Needed an oil pressure switch it got ordered this morning & was in store by 12, quick 2 get 4 me on a saturday. Would like to add that when i first visited yesterday to order my oil pressure switch i collected a dome gazebo for my ex who is more than happy with it & service.

First of all, the staff are really polite and give great customer service and the store is really nice too. The reason I gave them 4 stars is that I’ve twice booked my mountain bike in for an assessment (difficulties with the government voucher scheme) and had two very different diagnostic outcomes- one which would have been a lot costlier than the other

Not bad range - although weirdly they have no self service tills. Which seems a bit backward in this day and age - as you have to wait for a till to free up before you can actually pay. Most of the time their is no queue management and its a chaotic free for all at the tills. This causes poor social distancing during lockdowns. So overall the store is OK, but the till arrangements are a bit of a hot mess. The management needs to step up and sort this out.

My first visit didn't go well as the bike i paid for on line was not at the store on my collection day. John, the store manager ordered me another bike and called me on the collection day to tell me the bike had arrived, been checked, and i could pick it up when i wanted to. Cheers John.

I phoned my local Volvo dealership to enquire about replacing a fuse in my Volvo S80. They told me that the job required the lowering of part of the dash and would take around 20 minutes. I was restricted by time so drove to my local Halfords which is this store. The young lad came out, inspected my problem and told me to take a seat inside the store. 5 minutes later he handed me my keys and charged me less than £9.00!!! I wonder how much the dealership would have taken from me? HIGHLY recommended. Superb service by a VERY knowledgeable and friendly staff member. Sorry, I didn't get his name. UPDATE: I needed a front near side indicator bulb. The technician came to replace it and managed to dislodge the light lens. He then fitted the bulb, cleaned the light housing and reattached the lens with new silicon. Fantastic service. Highly recommended.

Bike department to purchase a kids 20" bike. The service was excellent. The chap I spoke to was knowledgeable, a great sales person and not condescending; I have extensive knowledge of bicycles. I feel he was let down by either Halfords supply chain or policies surrounding purchasing bikes. Why can't I just buy a bike in a box or off the rack? This is ridiculous. I understand that halfords requires to protect itself legally, but you are seriously damaging your place in the market. I drove to a 'toy' shop 1 minute away. I pointed to a bike and they asked if I wanted it boxed or built for a small fee. The looked out the back, they only had one built one left. They didn't charge me for building it, they safety checked it in front of me and I signed to say it was safe at the time of purchase. This seems like a fail safe system to me; perhaps halfords needs a similar system.

Good store with a good range of automotive and bike products. Free parking is handy. Only reason not five stars is I think they are abit expensive I mean £5 extra on top of your engine oil price just to top up somones engine oil is a rip off. Especially when this is a very easy job to do.

I've had car stereos fitted by this Halfords branch before with no issues, but on my current vehicle the installation caused some troubles due to a faulty unit and some incompatibilities with my model of car. Throughout the whole process the staff were very helpful and tried their best to resolve the issue. Overall they made it very easy to get it resolved, with no bureaucratic hoops to jump through, and I felt like they truly went above and beyond to conclude my problem. I've given four stars because it was a frustrating experience from the perspective that there were issues in the first place, but at no point did I feel frustrated with the staff for their attitude towards helping me. They were excellent with the way they handled it.

Had a blowout in back wheel of electric bike, where the motor is. A couple of local bike repair shops did not want to know because it was electric, so I took it to Halfords. They were really helpful and I was sorted in half an hour and on my way. Good friendly service.

I bought a Halfords. 096/AGM battery almost 2 years ago. After this time the battery wouldn't hold a charge. I returned the battery to Halfords without a receipt. They tested the battery and found it to be unserviceable and exchanged it immediately, The 5 stars are for Halfords after sales/customer service, not their Battery's.
