Our sales assistant could not have been more helpful. Took us to the windscreen wipers and offered to look up the correct size from the car's details, on his till. Gave good advice on which brand to purchase and it was a quick, easy visit. 10/10 for product knowledge; I would recommend Halfords - and will go back again.

A new radio was very complicated for me as the previous one in my car was 20 years old. I got some valuable help from David who tuned the stations in for me and fixed the colour. I now have to do very little, apart from turning it off and on!! I thought the price was very reasonable as the sound is excellent.

I visited to buy a 12" rear wiper blade for my BMW (2019) X3. Your stock did not have a 12" blade with the appropriate fitting. When I enquired, I was told that the 11" version would fit, and was adequate. I then purchased the 11" blade and fitted it myself.

I went to this Halfords centre after going to a competitors where i had queued for ages with no-one serving 4 people. Then 3 advisors had appeared and 1 leant against a wall while 2 others debated how much something cost so i left. At HALFORDS the contrast in service was remarkable- it was brilliant. After a very short wait, I was served by a very helpful respectful gentleman who advised me which wiper blades i needed and arranged for someone to fit them for me. It only took a few minutes to serve me. The service was like a slick, very well oiled machine. - brilliant and knowledgeable. Whilst the cost may have been more than i might have paid at the first place i was so happy with the excellent 5 star service HALFORDS provided for me. Absolutely excellent!

Friendly staff, good selection of stuff, not the cheapest, but their Professional tool range are nicely made, I have sets of their spanner’s that have never let me down. You can often get a good deal on tools in their sale. Finally, there’s not many car shops left these days so I hope they keep going or there will be nowhere to look round!

The third time was to browse at bikes but I actually purchased one. Their knowledge was fabulous and the service I received was fantastic. Recently returned to road biking after many years of inactivity. Had a service done a month or so ago and have been delighted with the bike. A rear puncture resulted in the rear derailleur playing up once the wheel was replaced. I tried and failed to sort it myself, popped into the store and was delighted when Kris put the bike on the stand, spent fifteen minutes of wizardry and sorted it out for me. He showed me what he'd done so I can have a better go at it next time - I know I should be able to adjust things like this but it's reassuring to have such great service from Halfords. Thanks loads.

Visited Halford several times recently and was quite surprised how reasonable they now are. I recently had a desperate needed MOT done in the same day and on a Sunday which was perfect and saved me a lot of hassle. I also bought some tools which most other local places didn't have in stock. Staff at Halfords were very friendly and helpful but the only disappointment was the lack of them. They work hard to try and get to everyone but they could do with some more. Definitely a place to take your bike plus their waiting times for bigger jobs are quicker than local smaller shops. I personally worked within retail, customer services and sales positions for 10 years, including within the capacity of a customer and sales coach. Owing to this working experience I recognize the hallmarks and signs of having received a great shopping experience as espoused by company or store policy. The first positive experience I noticed. Upon entering the Halfords York, Foss Island store, I was not immediately accosted with assistance, and was instead allowed to familiarize myself and self serve. The majority of customers already know what they entered the store for and will make their way to the appropriate product area to select their preferred item. As a result of my own ineptitude I overlooked the item I was seeking to acquire, despite it being very clearly displayed. The second positive experience I encountered was seeking assistance. I visited the cashiers and or service center, and was helped directly by the two young ladies on duty at this time, both where very helpful and assisted me to the location of the product in question, I have encountered many occasions in different stores where the cashier and or service center has been left unattended, especially when the store is less busy, and many more occasions where the representative does not know what or where the product is. The third positive experience I encountered. The BlackVue vehicle camera that I was intent on purchasing was initially only being displayed as a store show item, this is both understandable and additionally good practice. Smaller but more expensive items will often be targeted by thieves, the losses in store revenue and profits inevitably can get passed to paying customers, and potentially affect the employees wages and or bonuses, although initially inconvenient to the purchaser it is good security practice. The third positive experience was. As the camera was displayed, but not collectable from the point of display location, the two young ladies offered initially to check availability and then go into the stores warehouse if required. Why do I determine this as a good experience, simple. From my own experiences within the same environment I have worked with many colleagues whom simply cannot be bothered, they would in turn advise the customer the item was out of stock, the fact that both the stores representatives checked and confirmed stock and additionally went the extra mile to get the camera from the warehouse store speaks volumes. The fourth positive experience. Whilst waiting for the camera at the cashiers and service center, another store staff member noticed that I appeared to be unassisted, rather than ignoring the situation they approached and offered possible assistance, I advised that I was being assisted and thanked them for offering help. The fifth and final positive experience. After returning with the camera, I was asked by one of the young ladies if I had an email address, knowing somethings in regards to store returns and replacement policies and the subsequent proof and identity of purchase practices, it is often good practice to allow your details to be recorded to assist in a possible warranty replacement or return event. What I did not expect however, was that the store representative assisting my purchase would actually not only request to take these details, but moreover would actually register and then send me a verified store purchase receipt via email for the aforementioned possible returns or warranty purpose if required. For the same reasons as I outlined previously in respect to the checking and collection of warehouse stock, this is more than often not done. All in all, I am surprisingly and suitably very impressed with my experience with my latest Halfords York Foss Island shopping visit, and noticeably have experienced some or all of these same superb examples from them previously. Keep it up all.

I needed a new headlamp. I found the specific bulb easily enough but the lady at the till, Kim I believe her name was, double checked on the system that I had the car specific item. I decided to have a fitter replace the bulb, to save my knuckles and patience, I believe the cost was about £8. I had a short wait as the fitter was already busy with another customer, however he came to me several times to let me know he would be as quick as possible. It took him approximately 5 minutes to replace and check the bulb was working. I was pleased with the service and cost and would recommend using the fitting services.

I visited to buy some additional accessories for a bike and cycle care and was there for over an hour due to a huge mishap with klarna telling me to cancel to rebuy then it not allowing me to do so. Kris was so patient this entire time doing anything he could to help and suggest. It was a very distressing situation for me yet he made me feel so at ease with the entire process and had all the time in the world to help me and my parter. In the end we returned the bike after the huge ordeal the day prior. Kris was nothing but welcoming and had good humour. Social distancing and hygiene were very much in evidence. Store not too crowded and folk maintaining distancing rules. Well stocked and well laid out store. Staff were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Got what I wanted, paid and got out in less than 10 minutes with no drama or hassles.

I visited this Halfords recently and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I had a bolt stuck on my car rear windscreen wiper mechanism which needed proper tools to be taken off and replaced. When the man from the main section of the shop couldn't help, he sent me into the MOT section and the two men there were very helpful in removing it and ended up using a hacksaw. They didn't charge me a penny and were extremely polite and patient throughout. Highly recommend!

I booked my MOT two weeks in advance with Halfords and paid online. I dropped my car off first thing in the morning, even though my appointment wasn't until 1.30pm. I got a call saying they'd done the MOT and my car was ready to pick up at roughly 12pm, which was great! The staff were really friendly and very helpful. Would recommend.

I phoned up but it seemed a while before someone answered. OK they might of been busy. Once I finally get though the guy went to check and said its not done yet. He is starting it now. I waited most of the day again with no phone call. Once again I phoned up and someone went to check, and said he is just finishing it, give it an hour before you collect it.
