I'm in the trade. I presented a host of launches for Smart UK, three Smart Car European Festivals at Brooklands, I race cars, know about vehicle tech. I wouldn't take either of our Smarts anywhere else. Ben is the best guy on Smarts I've ever met. It's a whole different level of service to a main dealer, I actually care about my cars - as many Smart owners do - so does Ben, he owns and drives LOTS of Smarts, mods them, tunes them, services them. In short he's the smartest Smart guy in the business. Don't go anywhere else. I wouldn't.

Third time I've been to Smart-TECHNIC now and each time I've been no less than delighted with the work Ben has done for me. I've been to several garages over the years with the 12 different Smart ForTwos I've owned and Smart-TECHNIC stand head and shoulders over anywhere else. I wish I'd found them sooner. Ben's knowledge is second to none and the work is both thorough and charged at sensible rates. I would NEVER take a Smart Car to anyone else and this is the only garage I've ever been motivated so positively to do a review on.

Once again; amazing service, honest staff, one of the best or thee best Smart Roadster mechanics out there!!! Been going here 3 years with some painful problems but have always been resolved and explained to me! :D 5*****

Brilliant. Mark has a gut feeling about my Smart which has always been proven right. My beautiful smart was towed to another garage took the mechanic there days to come up with diagnosis. Well Mark already knew just by the symptoms I had reported to him. The other garage couldn't fix it. Little one about to be towed to smarttecnic Birmingham. With my car under their care I can finally rest and finally start my rather late Panic buying. I hear there isn't much left in the supermarkets anyway. I guess I'll have to water fast which I do regularly anyhow. Stay safe everyone. Love Elvira

Went to Smart TECNIC for the first time this weekend, and my god I really am happy with the service from these guys – I wish I found then earlier in the year. I have a Smart car 450 – 2003 and came down to Birmingham after finding them on Google and Facebook (reviews on both sites are outstanding) I had a misfire in cylinder 2 and the fault I thought was a coil pack, I wasn’t able to do this myself so purchased a used but in good condition and Ben fitted it for me. At the same time Ben replaced the HT leads as these looked in poor condition and I also had done at the same time an oil change, Ben also found that I needed a new engine mount so had that changed as well (I thought I heard a banging each time I moved off) I also had an ABS light on with was a brake switch which Ben also replaced, so all in all amazing service If you have a smart car you really need to go to these guys first, you can tell they actually really care about Smart cars and have an interest in these cars. They care and clearly want you to have the car running as good and as long as you can. The customer service is 100% spot on, friendly and nothing was enough trouble, no huge intake of air when looking at costs, just open and honest with what the problem is and the solution I will definitely be going back to them now, and are now my smart car garage of choice Drove the car home and it felt lovely – Smart Tecnic – thank you so much

Needed a new alternator and a few other jobs doing for my Roadster which many garages won't touch. I found Ben really helpful and can't fault the work done. Some of the things they fixed I hadn't mentioned when I booked it in and I just asked on the day - it was all ready the following afternoon. Emailed in a snagging list of jobs on my 450 Fortwo Brabus, these ranged from replacement engine mounts, drop links, interior light, fuel cap issue and replacement solenoid along with some other odd jobs. Had a response from the email I had sent in at 9am the following morning. The guys provided a telephone call to step me through the items and a quotation was given. The team were professional, knowledgeable and certainly helpful in every way. Car was booked in within days and a drop off took place at 9am, team greeted me and allowed time to reconfirm all items before leaving. A 5.30pm pick up was arranged but the vehicle was ready by 3pm, during the cars stay in the workshop the team assessed the car and identified a couple of issues so contacted me with a quote and if I wanted to resolve now, or leave it? Asked to be resolved and all work was carried out to an excellent standard. Great service, great local centre where you leave with Confidence that they know what they are doing with Smarts. I endorse with pleasure! Great work 👏 👍

BEST, extremely honest, great rate and fast independent SMART specialists! They changed my Smart ForTwo's clutch and Oxygen Sensor at 1/3 of the price quoted by Mercedes and a few other specialists. i'd never heard of these guys so never used them before. i found them by using the internet and after reading the reviews thought id try them. i had a service so a nice easy job. great service and really friendly people. ive had my car serviced at Merc and Ford and each time they are a pain and Merc actually damaged my car. so to find someone that can service my Smart car hassle free is great. will defo be using these guys again. oh they even gave me a rough time the car would be ready and actually stuck to that time instead of most garages leaving you waiting all day even though the cars ready. top work thanks a lot.

OK so this place doesn’t have the glamour of a main dealership but it does have knowledgeable technicians who know the smart product inside out. They treat customers as individuals and work on the basis of providing fair advice, an estimated cost for any work and then the customer makes the final decision. Don’t be put off by the location, a 6-8 minute walk has you in the central shopping area of Birmingham. This was my second visit and I have been impressed on both occasions - these guys are true specialists which is what you need in order to keep these cars running as they should.

Just wanted to say that I really appreciate all of the help and advice these guys gave me recently. They came highly recommended by some established smart forums and I have since recommended them to everyone I now speak to. I purchased a 2nd hand Smart Roadster and was informed by the dealers that the car had come with a full service however, I read that these cars can be rather quirky and need specialists when it comes to the mechanics of them, so I booked my car in for a thorough looking over and some additional minor works with smart-technic Birmingham and it came back safe and sound and with lots of advice for the future. Top marks to Ben and his team. Sorted out a mystery problem with ForFour that had beaten several previous garages. Ben explained it to me and showed the offending part ( sensor).....his diagnostic kit helped a lot, but undoubtedly it was the human interpretation that sorted the solution. Have a low mileage 14 year old Smart Pulse.. A couple of years ago they rebuilt the engine & did a great job after I had wasted money on two partial fixes elsewhere followed by a good value service. This time I had a problem with the foot brake sticking. They have sorted that and also replaced a broken coil spring [Thanks to the Local Authorities for the POTHOLES in the roads]. I have no hesitation in recommending Mike & his men for efficient Smart car Servicing & Repairs at reasonable prices.

Very impressed by the knowledge of these guys. I had my Smart Fortwo 451 mhd sitting for almost 3 months at local garage who were struggling to find the fault as it wouldn't start. They managed to find and fix the fault within a day. Can't say it was cheap but the parts for all smart are expensive. Mine needed a new clutch actuator in the end (cost £570 parts and labour) but that was on top of new alternator (approx £500) which was unnecessarily changed trying to find the fault at the local garage. Moral of the story is wish I had gone to these guys in the first instance.

We found Smart-Tec after all the local garages in our area wouldn't touch the cam chain on my wife's fortwo, the closest smart 'specialist' to us wanted a obscene amount of money to do the job, after searching Google and the smart car forum's one name kept coming up and that was Smart-Tec so we made an appointment and took the 2hr 20 min drive on the morning to get it down to them, the garage is one of the cleanest garages I have ever seen you can tell they take pride in what they do there, Mike and his staff where really friendly but more importantly knew exactly what they were doing and for a very fair price, they got the job done in 1 day for us, which shows just how much they know about these cars, I would highly recommend Smart-Tec to any one and we will definitely be using again for the wife's car, it's a shame I have an BMW x5 other wise I would happily use for my car, it was well worth the travel for us and the car is now silent and running perfectly the wife is over the moon, if you could give more than 5 stars we definitely would.
